Maintenance Engineer - Continental Shift
Working with the oldest supplier of aircraft tyres in the world, we are seeking a range of qualified Maintenance Engineers to support their continuing manufacturing activities in Birmingham.
Working on a Continental Shift pattern, 4 on 4 off. 2x12 hour days (6am - 6pm) and 2x12 hour nights (6pm - 6am), these permanent roles are targeting both mechanical and electrical expertise.
Having existing experience from within a manufacturing/industrial environment, the role purpose includes:
- Complete permits to work and risk assessments, assessing all risks involved in the work to be undertaken
- Ensure safe systems of work are applied, adhered to and followed out consistently
- Support and achieve Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance and Plant
- improvement initiatives, Installation projects, statutory inspections, factory services and any other duties required to ensure plant safety, performance, improvement and operation.
- Supervision of external contractors and service providers
- Interact with all stakeholders at any level within the business on a daily basis to resolve equipment & site related issues
- Be a point of contact for internal customers to resolve plant, equipment and safety issues & provide technical support
- Interact with external bodies, suppliers and contractors to achieve the above
- Ensure critical spares are available and stock levels are maintained on consumption
- Ensure a high standard of workmanship is achieved
Key role duties include:
- Provide a high standard of multi-skilled engineering support whilst working safely either independently or as part of a team.
- Aid in reduction of production losses, energy and waste
- Diagnose faults or point of failure, repair equipment to ensure safe operation, correct function, reliability and equipment availability
- Engineer out equipment failures through continuous improvement
- Plan, co-ordinated and execute installation and plant improvement projects
- Provide support and input to plan & co-ordinate planned maintenance schedules, act on follow up repairs, source spares, complete and file documentation to audit standard
- To able to communicate with suppliers, chase outstanding orders
- Provide shift, factory start-up/shutdown cover as and when required
- Specify & procure critical spares, be able to create requisitions to order
- Report equipment issues, follow up works & spares requirements to the Shift Plant Engineer and report in the shift report
- Maintain Housekeeping to a high standard
- Support work requests outside of the sphere of the immediate role
- Any other non-defied duties &/or responsibilities required to support engineering's operations
Core experience being sought:
- Experience of heavy motorised and hydraulic plant
- Experience of steam generation, boiler house operation and high-pressure fluid systems
- Mechanical and Electrical experience
- Ideally have a BTEC or equivalent

Interim Head of Finance - Worcestershire
Our client is a recognised and successful family business who support the construction sector across the UK. In support of their continued activity of supplying tool and consumables, we are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to provide short-term leadership and stability to the finance function during the recruitment of a permanent Head of Finance. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance department and maintaining strong financial control and reporting.
Expected to run for between 2 and 5 months, reporting to the Managing Director and with an expected need to support 2 to 3 days per week in their head office in Worcester, key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Manage and improve debt collection / accounts receivable processes
- Maintain oversight of cash flow and working capital
- Deliver monthly management accounts accurately and on time
- Ensure financial records are complete, compliant, and up to date
- Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders on finance matters
- Support continuity and handover for the incoming permanent Head of Finance
- Identify and address any immediate process gaps or risks
- Have experience of using Netsuite to support reporting activities and financial activity
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Head of Finance / Finance Lead / Financial Controller role
- Strong understanding of core finance operations (AP, AR, reporting, cash flow)
- Ability to step in quickly and operate with minimal supervision
- Hands-on, pragmatic approach with strong attention to detail
- Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational and communication skills

High Voltage Battery Engineer

Overview:
We’re looking for a hands-on High Voltage Battery Engineer to work with EV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in real-world, safety-critical environments.
This is a site-based engineering role, focused on diagnosing, repairing, dismantling, and safely handling high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems (400V–1000V+ DC). You’ll act as the HV technical authority on site, ensuring work is carried out safely, compliantly, and to a high technical standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, dismantle, and rework HV lithium-ion battery packs (EV & BESS)
- Perform HV isolation, discharge, testing, and fault-finding
- Identify issues at cell, module, pack, and BMS level
- Support site-based assessment, remediation, commissioning support, and decommissioning activities
- Act as HV technical lead on site, ensuring RAMS and safe systems of work are followed
- Write, review, and implement RAMS for HV battery activities
- Produce technical reports, repair records, and battery condition assessments
- Support continuous improvement of HV battery handling and dismantling processes
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems
- Practical experience with EV batteries and/or BESS
- Proven background in HV battery diagnosis, repair, or dismantling
- Experience working under formal HV safety rules and permit-to-work systems
- Strong understanding of:
- Lithium-ion battery architecture (cell/module/pack)
- Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- HV isolation, testing, and fault-finding
- Confident writing and implementing RAMS
- Comfortable working in site-based, safety-critical environments
Desirable:
- Strong BESS exposure
- HV Authorised Person (AP) or equivalent
- Experience in recycling or end-of-life battery processing
