Production Shift Manager

NEW JOB AVAILABLE IN TELFORD (SHROPSHIRE) - PRODUCTION SHIFT MANAGER 

Are you an experienced Production Shift Manager seeking a new opportunity in Telford, Shropshire, and are you happy working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern?!

We are looking to recruit an experienced Production Shift Manager to join a leading FMCG manufacturer in Telford, this will be working a rotating 12 hour day and night shift system (4 on 4 off).

We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role, and someone who has experience from within the FMCG, Packaging, Food Manufacturing, Food Packaging or Print industry.

This person will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of between 25-30 staff at one time, and the hiring manager would prefer someone who holds either an ILM Team Leading qualification or equivalent.

They are also looking for someone who has previous TPM / Lean Manufacturing knowledge, experience in operating converting lines/process knowledge (where possible) and an Engineering background with a basic knowledge of Mechanics & Electronics.

Someone who has previous experience working as a Shift Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Manufacturing Lead, Shift Leader, Senior Shift Manager or Production Lead would be well received.

What You Will Do:

• Lead and motivate a team of production operatives to achieve shift efficiency and meet production targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, adhering to legislation such as HASAWA 1974, PUWER, and LOLER.
• Guarantee product quality by enforcing adherence to ISO 9001 standards and technical specifications.
• Manage costs effectively, including labour, waste control, and material usage.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimise production efficiency and coordinate size changes and set-ups.
• Drive performance management and foster a culture of continuous improvement through innovative solutions.

What You Will Bring:

• Proven experience in supervising or leading a team of more than 25 within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, such as TPM, and their application.
• Knowledge of operating converting lines or process management.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to performance management.
• A commitment to promoting safety, quality, and operational excellence.
