Salary:
£46,000 - £51,000 (including overtime) + excellent benefits

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and improving our production plant. You’ll work with a range of electrical and electro‑mechanical equipment, carrying out both proactive and reactive tasks such as:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and plant equipment
  • Electrical fault finding and diagnostics
  • Operating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems
  • Programming and adjusting Siemens & other PLCs
  • Using testing equipment to identify and resolve issues
  • Attending breakdowns and minimising downtime
  • Supporting Lean initiatives and safe working practices
  • Working to quality standards including BSEN ISO 9001

This is a fast‑paced, varied role where your skills will directly support production efficiency and reliability.

 

About You

You’ll be an electrically biased engineer with:

  • An NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong fault‑finding, diagnostics, and problem‑solving skills
  • Knowledge of PLCs, electrical motors, and pneumatics
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to work safely, flexibly, and hands‑on in a busy setting

Desirable:

  • 17th / 18th Edition qualification
  • HNC/HND or equivalent
  • Completed engineering apprenticeship
  • Heavy industry experience

Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Field Service Manager to lead and develop a UK-wide team of Service Engineers supporting a large installed base of industrial equipment for our client.

This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for the effective management, deployment and performance of a national field engineering team. The role plays a vital part in ensuring customers receive reliable, high-quality service support while maintaining strong operational standards and driving continuous improvement.

You will combine technical understanding, people leadership and operational discipline to ensure service activities are delivered safely, efficiently and professionally across the UK.

As a member of the management team, you will contribute to operational strategy and play a key role in supporting the ongoing growth and performance of the service division.

The Role:

The Field Service Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of a team of approximately 16–18 home-based Service Engineers, ensuring engineering resources are deployed effectively and service activities are delivered to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the UK Field Service Engineering team
  • Ensuring effective deployment of engineers based on skills, availability and customer requirements
  • Managing and supporting the Service Scheduler to optimise engineer utilisation
  • Monitoring operational performance, service KPIs and delivery standards
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of service reports and work orders

Job Description

  • Mechanically fitting and preparation work on a variety of modules, Lathes and Machining Centres.

We are looking for people who live within a 25 mile radius of Telford (Shropshire), and the hiring manager is looking for people who have a minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role.
