Role: Mechanical Fitter Location: Dudley Salary: £29,218 p/a Overview: We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to work on shift for our client in the Dudley area, the role will be contributing to the preventative maintenance and defect rectification on all plant and equipment. The role will also provide a mechanical fitting service throughout the Plant while implementing a culture of continuous improvement Shift Pattern: Working Days: 7 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off. Duties and Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule and report any irregularities. To maintain and test all mechanical systems. Interact with operations personnel in regard to fault finding, test, modification to process requirements, updating of drawings, and carry out defect rectification in line with the defect reporting system. To carry out isolations as necessary and in conjunction with maintenance/operations requests. Implement and monitor a preventative maintenance schedule. Plant Operator

Role: Plant Operator Location: Dudley Salary: £29,218 p/a Purpose of Job: Control and monitor operations of the boilers and turbine to ensure the optimum generation of steam. Duties and Key Responsibilities: Operational: Report and monitor all functions associated with the operation of the plant turbine, boilers, and coordination of incoming and outgoing waste. To maintain a steady control of the above by measuring temperature flow, pressure readings from the turbine/boiler, control systems and gauges. Accurately report readings and log daily operations in the shift log for continued monitoring and shift changeovers. Effectively react to planned and unplanned (i.e. emergency) repairs, blockages and changes in the plant central systems. Promptly react to system alarms/protocols to secure areas of the plant if/as required. Monitoring all areas of the plant from the control room. This includes, operating the overhead crane for the systematic removal of waste, and accessing all areas of the plant (from height to ground levels) to check instruments, gauges, and to take readings and take actions as required. Fulfil the role of Plant Attendant if/when required. This includes, (and is not limited to) the loading and unloading of vehicles, use of the Fork Lift Truck (FLT) for the fitting and removal of Big Bags. Ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard. Working at height and in confined spaces. Health & Safety: Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on the plant at all times. Demonstrate safe working practices in line with the Company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities: Working supervised and in some instances unsupervised here at the Birmingham service centre and at customers sites (International and Local) also supporting other UK based service centres. As found inspections of large high voltage motor and generators reporting on the condition of electrical and mechanical components including stators, rotors and exciters etc - documenting findings and reporting back to supervision with possible repair and recovery options. Detailing the core and coils, documenting the information that will be used for coil and winding kit ordering. Stator core refurbishment in the form of burn out and removal of old coils, Flux testing of the core / Clean and prepare for rewind. Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions. Rewind of stator core using diamond resin rich formed coils utilising industry standard coil insertion / blocking / wedging and connection techniques. Painting and Application of Protective Coatings and resin (spray)(air)(VPI) Test rewound and repaired electro-mechanical equipment according to International Standards and document test results, - (High voltage testing an advantage) Operate specialised repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core loss testers, cut off saws, burnout, brazing units, VPI systems and various handheld power and non-power tools. Ensuring all work meets the appropriate standards and quality control criteria as set out by the company. always Ensure adherence to Health and Safety responsibilities, including following all appropriate procedures and using the appropriate protective equipment. Ensure that risks and hazards in activities undertaken in the role are acknowledged and assessed in accordance with processes / procedures and ensure compliance to control measures identified in the company’s EHS documentation. Duties & Responsibilities: Support the Chief Applications Engineer in providing timely response to new application and product enquiries. Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly and testing to build in-house R&D test rigs for new product development.
