The Role will be responsible for generating, assessing, quoting and converting enquiries into profitable orders for the countries, regions and customers within their allocated territory to deliver year-on-year growth in both volume and margin. Steam Power Plant Lead Operator

Role: Steam Power Plant Lead Operator (x5) Location: Grangemouth, Falkirk Salary: £38,000 p/a (During Training and Induction) £45,000 p/a (After Training and Induction) Overview: We are currently recruiting for a number of Steam Power Plant Lead Operator to work at a brand new facility In Grangemouth, the role will be reporting to the Operations Manager and involved in the operation and maintenance of gas boilers and the exportation of steam from the first commissioning to the hot commissioning of the Energy from Waste plant. Duties involved during commissioning: During the commissioning of the Gas boilers and steam export, engage in all aspects of learning, (this includes professional, compulsory, and best practice training/learning). Hands on role to help with the commissioning of plant works, such as: tests, lubrication, cleaning, opening of tanks, monitoring, and control of equipment and machinery.  The work in shift (24/7) may start during this period prior the Backup boilers area take over, whereby the day/night shift rota would confirmed accordingly. Handling of chemical cans and salt bag (25kg max) manually or with a pallet truck for delivery or the filling of tanks. Assist with fault identification and rectification as required in conjunction with the commissioning team.  Assist with takeover tests with the commissioning team. Keep abreast of communicated deadlines and report to the commissioning team, as well as the Operating Manager as work on the plant transitions to the takeover stage. Assure good communications with suppliers for steam export. Carry out physical duties associated with gas boiler works and plant equipment. Knowledge and experience of High Voltage Generator control, protection, and Synchronising Methods and systems of emissions control. Understand the differences between various maintenance contracts and the resulting consequences for both the customer and company. Understand the Companies' Policies on health & safety, quality, and the environment and ensure that other company employees work within these policies. LV/HV Electrical Design Engineer

Role: Electrical Design Engineer       Location: Scunthorpe Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 p/a depending on experience + Company Vehicle Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to work for our client at their facility in Scunthorpe, the role will be producing preliminary and detailed engineering designs from LV – 132kV and liaising with DNO/IDNO to get design approval. The role reports to the Design Manager and involved with project cost estimates and reports along with Obtaining technical or major procurement item quotations. Main Purpose of Role: Producing electrical designs ranging from LV-33kV. With knowledge of 132kV designs being preferable. Designer to liaise with the customer, DNO and construction team to ensure the design approval process runs smoothly as well as the design construction process. The designer will be expected to assist the construction team in interpreting the designs and will be expected to carry out audits when necessary to ensure quality. The role will include training of other electrical design team members, checking the quality of their work and carrying out initial sign off. The design engineer is also as part of his/her role expected to contribute to business development as required by the commercial team for new projects. Direct Reports: Functional Responsibility Maintenance Manager & Maintenance Team, Team Leaders, Deputy Team Leaders, Plant Operators, Plant Attendants and Plant Administrator Duties & Key Responsibilities: Operations Activities: Responsible for the overall operation of the plant, while ensuring the flow of waste and exportation of electricity is in accordance with relevant contracts.  Ensure that the operation of the plant is in strict accordance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, quality and environment standards, health, and safety, PPC permit requirements, Company policies, and all company Safe working practices.  Oversee quality and quantity of waste coming into the plant Manage the personnel to fulfil the timely execution of duties to maintain efficient running of the plant.  Define the strategy for the preventative and corrective maintenance and approve the planning of work for both operations and maintenance.  Ensure that the plant staff correctly monitor all emissions and report all emission incidents, abnormal operations, or other issues likely to cause pollution, to the Environment Agency.  Thoroughly investigate the cause of any emissions incident and implement any corrective or preventative action to prevent re-occurrence.  Liaise with officials of the client councils, the Environment Agency, the Health and Safety Executive and other such bodies as and when required.  Ensure the coordination of activities during shutdowns and outages which involves working outside of normal hours Validate the tonnages of incoming wastes to split them and charge the relevant councils/traders.   Manage budgets for the plant in accordance with objectives set by the Regional Operations Manager.  Promote open communications between operations and maintenance teams to fulfil all required activities for the effective running of the plant.  Management Activities: Overall management of all staff to fulfil the execution of duties to maintain efficient running of the plant at all times.   Regular review of competence of all members of the team and to identify relevant training needs.  Ensure that all technical documentation for all on site equipment is adequately kept, up-to-date and accessible to all staff.  Involvement in the setting of procedures, instructions and method statements of all operational activities.  Ensure that all controls, tests, mishaps and technical reports (including emissions/ tonnage/ incineration etc) are being monitored and recorded as required. Ensure the management of budgets and expenditure.  Attend regular management meetings as required.  Carry out annual staff appraisals, in line with Company policy.  Along with General and Health and safety activities Candidate Requirements: A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel where necessary. Strong Leadership - Experience of managing a team is essential.  Competency - Ability to demonstrate excellent Health and Safety behaviours at all times, while ensuring and enforcing safety expectations are continually implemented and maintained.  Must have worked in an Energy from Waste (EFW), power, civil engineering or similar industry within the last 5 years. Recent knowledge and proven recent experience of working in an operations team environment.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for interfacing with the Councils, Client representatives and the wider staff base. Able to work under pressure and effectively execute all plans for successful operation of the Plant. Ability to work at height and in confined spaces/restricted entry, supported with relevant training and experience of competency. Exceptional organizational and time management skills Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating plants. Training/Qualifications: Relevant knowledge and recent experience in the operation of steam to energy and high pressure boiler systems. Minimum HNC level of qualification but preferably trained to degree level in a technical/engineering capacity  Computer Literate – Able to manipulate data on Microsoft packages and basic IT software, (including our internal systems CMMS, and DCS). Attend conferences and training (internally and externally) as required to maintain proficiency. Desirable: High voltage authorised person electrical experience and qualifications highly desirable. IOSH Managing Safely experience. City and Guilds qualification of small thermal power plant would be desirable. A current first aid qualification would be desirable.
