We are looking to recruit on a contract CMM Operator to support the Quality Team, operating Zeiss & Mitutoyo CMM equipment to perform precision measurement, inspection and testing of machined components such as cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, and structural BIW parts, machined at our busy facility in Wellingborough. You'll be using previously prepared inspection programmes, and the role encompasses the mounting and loading of fixtures and products onto the CMM bed using the appropriate lifting equipment.

Product measurement is required as part of the inspection criteria of parts at specified shift check intervals, validation of start up and restart after breakdown and adjustment as well as for new product prove-out, so good knowledge and experience in a similar environment is essential.

You'll need to be familiar with other measurement equipment such as surface measurement, height gauges, bore gauges and other hand tools. Any person with previous experience of CMM operation or other Metrology and Measurement type roles will be considered for the position. The systems used within the business are Zeiss machines using Calypso software and Mitutoyo using MCOSMOS software.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating CMM measuring machines is essential
• Knowledge of metrology and experience of other gauging equipment
• Experience of having worked in the automotive and aerospace industries or other precision manufacturing environments
• BTEC National / ONC qualified or higher or Vocational Engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential
• Punctuality and reliability is key with an appetite to work your share of overtime!
• Commitment to quality, health and safety
• Good interdepartmental communication skills with a keen, can-do attitude!
