HR & Recruitment Advisor (6-Month FTC with potential to extend)
£35k FTE | Gloucester (with occasional Manchester travel)

Here’s the deal:

We’ve got a backlog of ER issues in Gloucester and a newly TUPE’d site in Manchester that’s been ignoring them altogether. We need someone who can step in now, deal with what’s in front of them, and help keep things moving while we decide what the long-term HR setup looks like.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract. You’ll be based in Gloucester, but may need to head to Manchester now and then to pick up cases and support managers on the ground.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing ER cases — mostly absence, some disciplinaries and grievances.

• Advising managers so they don’t make a mess of things.

• Supporting recruitment — screening CVs, coordinating interviews, keeping things ticking.

• Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries and issues.

No coaching. No workshops. Just real, solid HR advisory work.

What you’ll need:

• Experience managing ER cases on your own.

• Confidence advising managers directly.

• Some background in recruitment coordination.

• A willingness to jump in and get things done — no hand-holding.

• Immediate availability or close to it.

CIPD is nice to have, not essential if you’ve got the experience.

This is for someone who’s done the job before and doesn’t need a 3-week onboarding plan to find the HR folder.
