Battery Array Design & Release Engineer - 55815 - Basildon (Hybrid) - Up to £35.65/hr - Inside IR35 (Can increase for experienced candidates)

Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and collaborative Battery Array Design & Release Engineer to join our automotive client's inclusive and friendly team. This contract engineering role is based in Basildon and offers an attractive rate of £35.65 per hour.

As a Battery Array Design & Release Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and release of the battery array and for interfacing with battery pack and vehicle teams to integrate the arrays for use in Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Battery Electric (BEV) vehicles.

In your first few weeks in this Battery Array Design & Release Engineer role, you can expect to:

  • Lead the design and release of future model High Voltage battery welded array modules
  • Develop electrical, mechanical, and thermal interfaces and ensure package compatibility for the module into the HV Battery System
  • Complete Design and Release activities including release HV Battery array in WERS, Validation, Issues management, Quality Document Development, and delivery.
  • Design or evaluate supplier design of specific module components using engineering techniques and knowledge of manufacturing process to provide the most efficient and cost-effective design
  • Work closely with other functions and global teams to meet package, performance, and attribute requirements for the HV battery Array System

To apply for this Battery Array Design & Release Engineer role, you will need a degree in Engineering Discipline (or equivalent). You will also require the following:

  • Experience in Design and Release roles in Body and Structural Design or similar
  • Knowledge of current hybrid technologies/battery/power electronics and components (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technically challenging projects working cross-functionally
  • Working knowledge of CAD, poduct development, BOM & Financial reporting.
  • An enthusiasm for electrification with awareness of other vehicle area requirements and the integration conflicts that they present to deliver a vehicle level solution that meets all attributes
  • Must have valid UK or EU driving license & willingness to travel as needed.
