We're looking for a commercially astute Production Estimator to join the Inter Company Sales Team-a pivotal role at the heart of the operations.

Reporting directly to the Production Director, you'll take full ownership of creating and managing machine option quotations across Europe. Whether it's standard configurations, bespoke adaptations, or retrofit solutions, your work will ensure our quotes are accurate, competitive, and delivered with precision.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a technically complex environment and understands the critical link between engineering and commercial success.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead the creation and life cycle management of all machine option quotations.
  • Collaborate across departments-Engineering, Supply Chain, Production-to deliver accurate, timely, and profitable proposals.
  • Drive each quotation as a project, ensuring clear timelines, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Implement and refine cost models that reflect market realities and boost conversion rates.
  • Prepare estimates across machining, fabrication, engineering design, materials, and assembly-then track performance to identify commercial improvement opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with our European Sales teams to align on strategy and deliver value.
  • Analyse KPIs and use data insights to improve revenue, profitability, and success rates.
  • Continuously improve the quotation process to deliver greater value to both our customers and our production teams.
  • Support twice-yearly costing reviews with sound commercial analysis and judgement.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven background in estimation and quotation within a related engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Clear understanding of how commercial performance ties to estimation strategy.
  • Strong technical insight into complex manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Solid commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across multiple nationalities and functions.
  • Confident in decision-making and problem-solving, even under pressure.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Detail-focused and customer-oriented.
  • Willing and able to travel when required.
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant field.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience within a machine tool or precision engineering environment.
  • Multilingual capability-especially in another core European language alongside fluent business English.
  • Background in implementing or improving business systems related to estimation and quotation.

General Sales Manager (North / hybrid)

Our client is a global manufacturer of capital machine tool equipment and with continued growth in their UK and European markets, they are seeking a General Sales Manager to manage their commercial and sales engagement in the North of England and Scotland.

Working alongside an existing and established sales and manufacturing organisation in the UK along with 3x direct sales personnel in the territory, you will be based north of Birmingham - ideally along the M62 corridor due to territory distances, and be responsible for helping achieve the annual sales targets through actively promoting and selling a market leading portfolio of CNC machines.  This role is critical in unlocking the full potential of our client's brand across a diverse range of sectors and applications.

The successful candidate is likely to have a proven sales background, and a proven track record within the CNC machinery / machine tool / metal cutting industry and you will be a pragmatic and credible individual who will portray a positive image of our Client and their globally positioned products to their customer base.

Strong written and oral communication skills are essential along with the ability to think innovatively whilst have the capacity for detail and planning.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the role responsibilities are as follows:

-    Lead and inspire a team of sales professionals to exceed performance targets

-    Deliver regular feedback and coach/mentor to support individual and team growth

-    Support team's time management and planning capacity

-    Create and maintain a positive and supportive work environment

-    Maintain high accuracy in daily sales forecasting using CRM systems

-    Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal/external stakeholders - maintain existing accounts and creating growth

-    Actively support succession planning and team development through continuous improvement

-    Ensure correct documentation is in place and internally agreed

-    Track revenue, profit and sales margins

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

-    A minimum 5 years sales experience selling within the engineering/manufacturing sectors with relevant process/manufacturing experience

-    Strong sales and negotiation skills working at high value sales values

-    Confident to present & prepare presentations

-    Communicate at all levels of the business

-    Experience of CRM

-    Skilled in time management, using proven methods to meet deadlines efficiently

-    Clean driving license

Desirable criteria:

-    Good understanding of the machine tool market preferably with team management exposure.

Reporting to the UK Managing Director and based in the Midlands, this role is to manage the existing Customer and Service Team across the UK and Ireland. Working in a technical and higher value equipment manufacturing organisation, the Customer Satisfaction and Service Manager forms a critical and strategic element to their Customer Service offering.

The role will require a high level of commercial and technical involvement in continuing to manage and develop a successful aftermarket service.  You will need to have similar experience from a capital/complex equipment manufacturing organisation.

Focused on supplying a first-class service as well as growing revenue streams, this is critical position and requires the ability to manage and develop a broad range of customer facing services, grow new business opportunities, provide excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as apply strong technical knowledge.

The outline responsibilities of the role are as follows:
•    The management and further development of a successful UK Service and Spare parts environment as well as leading a team of office and field-based personnel in the UK and Ireland.
•    Supporting the sales activity and growth in revenue.
•    Promoting ‘service as a business’ culture - measuring and reporting on customer satisfaction.
•    Work with other departments across the company to develop new products & services which enhance and support their customer satisfaction goals.
•    Develop a stronger culture within the service organisation that is focused on delivering customer satisfaction.
•    Develop and implement clear and effective processes to ensure that best in class customer support is delivered.

The role will also be directly responsible for the management of Field Service including Installation, Servicing and Breakdown teams and relating co-ordination / Spare parts / Customer Satisfaction / Technical Support.

Ideally degree qualified and with at least 5 years’ experience at a similar level in a leading customer service function within technical products and/or services ideally related to capital equipment, you should have excellent leadership and management skills to drive change whilst ensuring that targets and deadlines are met. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making are core to this position.

  • Excellent fault-finding skills on both electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • PLC control code understanding and development experience (Allen Bradley RS Logix is preferred)

  • Generator protection knowledge and experience
