What You Will Do:

  • Manage the site spares strategy, ensuring the correct spares are available when needed.
  • Build and maintain a network of contractors, ensuring all work adheres to RAMS and PTW processes.
  • Schedule and communicate planned maintenance to minimise disruption to the facility.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of building infrastructure, including specialist dry-room and HVAC systems.
  • Oversee logistics management, including goods-in procedures, stock control, and the operation of the warehouse and workshop areas.
  • Carry out small electrical and plumbing repairs, ensuring a smooth-running facility.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, ideally within a technical or industrial environment.
  • Qualifications enabling you to undertake small electrical and plumbing jobs confidently.
  • Familiarity with contractor management and safety processes, including risk assessments and permits to work.
  • Experience working with HVAC systems and building infrastructure maintenance.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience in crew coordination and training.
  • Excellent problem-solving and logistical planning abilities to handle operational challenges effectively.

Opportunity to work for a specialist in the design, build and installation of bespoke factory automation systems and machinery, control systems, vision inspection, plastic container handling and robotics. 

The Role

You'll have two colleagues already on-site, charged with running our 3 CNC machines and we need you to join that team and run things from the metal fabrication side of things, teaching them all things fabrication you know, but you'll also be willing to learn a bit about CNC'ing.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated - able to think/plan for themselves, tenacious, punctual, and able to manage their own time effectively. Others will describe you as hard working, courteous, having a mature attitude and being a great team player.

Key responsibilities include

  • Being the key person for safe, yet efficient running of brake press and fiber laser
  • Being the key person for welding
  • Delivering work to the highest possible standards
  • Managing production cycles/flow to ensure on time delivery of outputs back to the main factory
  • Interpreting technical drawings/documents
  • Have the confidence to ask questions, make suggestions, push back if needed
  • Requesting material stock required for efficient production
  • Advising on the right processes and using your experience to recommend the best suppliers
  • Managing consumable stocks
  • Sharing your skills and knowledge with other members
  • Willingness to learn use of CNC machines, to provide back-up when other colleagues are on holiday
  • Ensuring machinery is effectively maintained and/or serviced
