Accounting Clerk

Job Title: Accounting / Supply Chain Clerk Location: Peterlee An Accounting Clerk is required to join a leading manufacturer of Articulated Trucks. The nature of this business necessitates the import and export of material in significant volumes, and they take seriously their obligations as an importer and exporter and make every effort to ensure full compliance with the law in this respect. The facility is authorised to operate several customs simplifications and regimes, namely: · Inward Processing (IP) · Customs Freight Simplified Procedure (CFSP) · New Community Transit System (NCTS) Through participation in these simplifications and regimes the facility achieves significant duty savings and supply chain enhancements. To safeguard these benefits the facility must ensure compliance with its obligations as an importer, exporter and authorisation holder through meeting a number of regulatory requirements in respect of its day-to-day operations. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to - Provision of clearance instructions for imports to the UK of goods to ensure that customs entries are created in accordance with HMRC regulations and that all procedures as they relate to Procedure Codes, Commodity Codes and documentation are complied with. - Validation of all customs entry documentation to ensure that these match to the instructions provided and following up with Customs Agents to ensure that any discrepancies/errors are acknowledged and corrected in a timely manner. - Assisting with the maintenance of the Grosvenor Ricardo Duty Management System (Ricardo) to ensure that all entries are processed correctly, and any discrepancies are notified to the Accounting Manager - Trade Compliance in a timely manner. Resolve any issues regarding both the Ricardo transactional funnel generation process as well as individual funnel file issues. - Assisting with the maintenance of the core product data relating to Commodity Codes, Customs Procedure Codes and Duty Bills of Material within Ricardo and, where applicable, the Peterlee Systems ERP System. - Ensuring that all non-EU goods, and goods received via Duty Transfer or Community Transit are cleared in accordance with HMRC regulations and that all procedures as they relate to Procedure Codes, Commodity Codes and documentation are complied with. This also involves ensuring that all IP Removals to Free Circulation (relating to truck disposal entries) are made in a timely manner and using correct procedures as they relate to Procedure Codes, Commodity Codes etc. - Obtaining and validating Export Declarations from DHL Global in support of Caterpillar SARL VAT reporting requirement, together with dealing with any related queries in respect of customs procedural codes, statistical values etc. Requirements - Ideally, the successful candidate will have substantial relevant experience. You will support the continued growth and market leadership in compact Diesel Engines. Job Description: The successful candidate will carry out a number of duties as detailed below. This is a key role that involves the manufacture of high specification prototype components within tight timelines. The ability to work to engineer's instructions and drawings, use your own initiative and work with the appropriate people to resolve issues is essential. - Set-up and operation of various jigs and fixtures - Operation of manual machines, as the role requires extensive experience with manual lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, band saws, grinding (surface/cylindrical) and other related equipment and tooling - Be proficient with the use of all related measuring equipment and tooling - Follow established processes and procedures for machining components at all times - Carry out any other duties that may be required from time to time - CNC and 3D printing experience would be advantageous - An understanding of Feature - CAM would be advantageous In addition to the above you will have a recognised apprenticeship, City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Machining, as well as relevant experience in machining. Design Engineer Bedford Permanent Our client design, manufacture and supply advanced components for industrial applications. They operate in a number of key markets which include marine, energy and propulsion. We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be required to provide design for manufacture within an ISO 9001 environment. What is required: Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred or Minimum Higher National Certificate (HND/HNC) / Diploma with appropriate industrial experience minimum. Substantial mechanical design experience within a 3D CAD environment. Application experience of FEA software is preferred. Engineering experience related to rotating machinery is preferred. A dynamic team player with positive attitude and a “Rolled up sleeves/Get it done” work ethic. What you will do: Design for manufacture. Produce 3D part models and assemblies and detailed 2D component and assembly drawings, using the company’s 3D CAD systems (NX, Inventor and AutoCAD software) (other 3D CAD experience is accepted) Provide calculations for performance and safety considerations including FEA and FMEA analysis. Project manage new product development as well as existing products and individual one-off projects.
