You may have heard the phrase “all round the Wrekin,” but Peter Heap, Principal Recruitment Consultant at Jonathan Lee Recruitment, has taken it to a whole new level by going up and down the Wrekin 100 times! Now, with only 10 more climbs to complete, Pete is close to achieving this impressive feat, all while raising funds for the Veterans’ Café – Telford Mind.
Throughout 2024, Pete has been scaling the 1,334 ft Wrekin Hill in Shropshire to support the Veterans’ Café and Wellbeing Hub, a community space designed to bring military veterans together. The café offers a supportive environment where veterans can connect, share experiences, and access resources that help address their unique challenges.
Pete shared his thoughts on the cause: “The Veterans’ Wellbeing Hub is a fantastic service offered by Telford Mind, and as a veteran myself with 20 years of service, I know how valuable it is to have a place where you can talk to people who truly understand. It’s a space for support, advice, and genuine connection.”
His commitment to this cause is shared by his wife, Louise, the CEO of Telford Mind, who, along with her operations team, has been instrumental in establishing the Veterans’ Hub in the Telford area. Together, they’re making a meaningful difference in the lives of local veterans.
From all of us at Jonathan Lee Recruitment, a huge well done to Pete, Louise, and the team at Telford Mind for their incredible work. We’re cheering you on for those last 10 climbs, Pete!
