Technical Project Manager (EMC)

Technical Project Manager (EMC) - Defence - Permanent - Attractive - West Midlands A Technical Project Manager is required within a Safety Critical Systems Technology Company. The successful Technical Project Manager Special Projects Team Leader will join a specialised team in this sector and will report to the Special Projects Team Leader The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for responsible for a wide variety of EMC technical delivery and development tasks. Cost Engineer - Melksham We have an exciting new role for a Cost Engineer to give support for engineering and purchasing by providing cost transparency for a world leading Systems supplier for the design, development and manufacture to the rail industry for Braking and Platform Screen Door Systems based in Melksham. The Cost Engineer will produce cost evaluations and cost models of parts and systems being supplied to better understand or challenge supplier's costs to the business. This will involve travel UK and Europe wide, to suppliers to understand and cost parts and systems to be supplied to the company. Responsibilities: The Cost Engineer will do or be involved with: Create cost transparency for purchased parts Engineering and Technical know-how for specific products and suppliers (cost structure, technology (product and manufacturing) Optimize costs by choosing the best technology Teach Engineers in cost avoidance in design Support the purchasing team in negotiations Continuous improvement of calculation methods Train new team members in the methodology of cost calculation and production processes Lead smaller cost improvement projects and benchmarking of production processes Target costing for selected product portfolio Participation in make-or-buy projects Ensure reference / target prices are available for purchasing in an adequate tool Member of cross-functional teams with R&D, quality and testing. Responsibilities: The Project Engineer will do or be involved with: Creation of System and Product level requirements from customer specifications, applicable Rail standards (UK and EU). Supporting the start-up and execution phases of the company's systems projects, liaising with the customer and other stakeholders. Ensuring the product development pipeline is aligned to customer and market requirements. Interpret and communicate relevant requirements to the design (both internal and sub-contract). Generation of Project Documentation for internal use and customer issue. Planning and executing formal type testing at accredited test houses. Liaising between the customer and the design teams Work with other internal teams to create Production Data Supporting system integration activities and commissioning and/or system training at customer sites. Supporting the customer with in-service issues. A willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
