As for everyone else, our usual #jonleelife socials and team events took an unwelcome hiatus due to Covid but we are pleased to announce that last week saw the hotly-anticipated return of the End-of-Summer party, hosted at the stunning The Crown at Iverley’s Tipi!
The evening kicked off with a welcome from Jonathan Lee, our Chairman, who thanked everyone for their hard work and success for the year to date, spoke about the current market, congratulated the appointment of the new Directors, and welcomed new members of the team.
Jonathan finished his speech by saying –
‘Our team spirit is tremendous, and you are working so well together – which is a real pleasure to see. Thank you all so much for your hard work and achievements and most of all for being such valuable members of our team and so much fun to be with. Enjoy your evening – it has been a tough year for all of us emotionally and a good party is just what we all need.’
Prize draw winners
The prize draws were next. Firstly, an overnight spa break for two with dinner and wine was won by (drum roll please…) Rachel Meacham, one of our longest serving members of staff and definitely one of the most keen to win … and she did. Congrats Rachel!
Next, was the prize draw for a £50 voucher… Congratulations to Gareth Simpson, for the win! In an act typical of his generosity, Gareth gifted the prize to Jo Smithson who he said ‘deserved it for all her hard work this year and everything she does.’ Congrats Jo and well nominated Gareth!
Just one more prize to give away, and the winner of a beautiful bottle of champagne was new marketing recruit Steven Franklin. Congrats Steven, first team social and a winner already.
Prizes handed out, it was on to the food – a mouth-watering hog roast for the carnivores with veggie and vegan alternatives too. Just what was needed to fuel the team for the night ahead.
A great evening had by all…
With the playlist compiled from staff requests in advance, the music got underway and even though it was a chilly week-night in September, once the food had settled, there was some dancing. Special mention has to go to the rather exceptional routine to Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ by Paul Robson, Matt Stride, Jade Whitmore and Shannon Harling.
The relaxed atmosphere at the Tipi gave everyone time for a good catch up and it was fantastic to see people mixing from across our different teams and offices and having a great time. The whole team would like to say a big thank you to David and Jonathan for the event, and to Jo and Jayne for their hard work in getting this much anticipated night together.
Only one last question to ask – When’s the next one guys?!
