Are you an experienced sales professional who enjoys working through complex sales cycles and developing new international business?

This is a newly created opportunity to join a highly advanced engineering business and play a key role in developing its international growth across the marine, defence and industrial markets.

The role will initially focus on Europe and North America, with extensive international travel of 50%+. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships with key customers and helping develop a strong international sales pipeline.

This is a new role, giving you the opportunity to build something from the ground up and develop a long term career as the business continues to grow.

A genuine interest in yachts, boating and the wider marine industry is essential. You do not necessarily need previous marine experience, but you must have a real interest in the sector and be excited by the opportunity to work with advanced marine technology and energy storage systems.

The role

Working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager, you will have responsibility for developing new business opportunities while also supporting existing customer relationships.

You will be involved across the full sales cycle, from identifying and qualifying prospects through to proposals, commercial discussions and deal progression.

This is a hands on role where you will have significant visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence how the international sales strategy develops.

What you will be doing

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across marine, defence and industrial markets

What are we looking for?

You MUST have experience working within a complex sales cycle.

This is a key requirement for the role. We are looking for someone who understands how to develop opportunities over time, build relationships with multiple stakeholders and navigate technical and commercial buying processes.

You could currently be working as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, Account Manager, Sales Engineer, Commercial Manager or Key Account Manager.

Your background could be within marine, defence, aerospace, automotive, engineering, manufacturing, energy, industrial technology or another technically complex sector.

You will need:

Overview:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Contracts Manager with strong experience in contract review, negotiation and risk management, to work for our client to provide commercial and contractual support across its sales, projects and customer support activities.

This is a varied role working closely with Sales, Projects, Customer Support, senior management and external legal advisers, helping to protect the company's commercial position while supporting the delivery of complex engineering projects and long-term maintenance contracts in the UK and overseas.

The role:

  • As Contracts Manager, you'll be responsible for the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of commercial contracts supporting international sales and aftermarket activities.

  • Reviewing and critically analysing customer contracts, terms and conditions and proposed amendments.

Person Specification:

  • We're looking for an experienced contracts or commercial professional who can combine strong contractual knowledge with sound commercial judgement.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Experience as a Contracts Manager, Commercial Contracts Manager, Contract Manager, Commercial Manager, Project Manager, Contract Specialist or similar.
  • Strong experience of reviewing, drafting, negotiating or managing commercial contracts.
  • Good knowledge of English contract law and the UK legal system.
  • Proven experience identifying, assessing and mitigating contractual and commercial risk.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, together with excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand complex contractual documentation and recommend practical, commercially balanced amendments.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the confidence to work with Sales, Projects, Customer Support, senior management and external lawyers.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage competing priorities and escalate matters appropriately.

  • Knowledge of European legal systems, particularly French, German or Italian contract law/civil codes.
  • Experience with bank guarantees, including advance payment, performance and warranty guarantees.

This is an opportunity to lead a highly specialised engineering function within an established aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisation with over 30 years of industry expertise. The Role

As a New Business Sales Executive, you'll be responsible for identifying and securing new commercial clients, developing relationships, and growing your own portfolio of business.
