Punch Press Operator (Nights)

PUNCH PRESS OPERATOR VACANCIES (TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE) - PERMANENT NIGHT SHIFTS MONDAY-THURSDAY

This sheet metal manufacturing business in Telford (Shropshire) is seeking experienced Punch Press Operators and Punch Press Setter Operators to work a permanent night shift that is Monday to Thursday (10 hour shifts, 39 hours per week), the annual salary will depend on your experience.

• Punch Press Operator - annual salary up to £30,000 per annum
• Punch Press Setter Operator - annual salary up to £32,000 per annum

Overtime is also available and paid at T1/4 in the week and T1/3 at the weekend (providing your 39 hours basic have been completed).

We are looking or people who have previously worked on Amada or Trumpf Turret Punch Presses and have either setting and operating, or just operating experience.

The hiring manager is looking to take people onto permanent contracts from Day 1.

What You Will Do:

• Load and check programmes as per job sheet, ensuring the correct materials are selected.
• Set and operate a Turret Punch Press.
• Perform quality inspections using gauges and equipment to ensure components meet tight tolerances.
• Work from engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards, ensuring precision and accuracy.
• Maintain and clean equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance.
• Keep the workspace organised while adhering to health and safety regulations.

What You Will Bring:

• Proven experience with setting and/or operating a Punch Press
• Familiarity with AMADA or TRUMPF machinery.
• Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience working with thin gauge materials.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
