What You Will Do:
- Collaborate on the design, simulation, and testing of ion and plasma-based electrical systems, such as thrusters and discharge devices.
- Plan and execute experiments, analyse data, and refine theoretical models to optimise ion energy distribution in plasma systems.
- Develop and implement test procedures using advanced plasma diagnostics, including Langmuir probes and oscilloscopes.
- Support the integration of plasma subsystems into autonomous energy platforms, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Create technical documentation, deliver insightful reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders.
- Stay updated on advancements in plasma physics and ion-based hardware to ensure the company remains at the cutting edge of innovation.
What You Will Bring:
- A PhD in Physics or a Master's degree in Physics with at least two years of engineering experience, ideally in energy, aerospace, or hardware technology.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electromagnetism, plasma physics, and vacuum systems, with hands-on experience in ion/plasma components.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as COMSOL or ANSYS, along with expertise in experimental analysis and instrumentation.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Desirable skills include coding knowledge (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) and experience with high-voltage or plasma system safety standards.
