Job Title: Projects Engineer
Location: Watford

Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Projects Engineer to work for our client’s service team, this is an exciting role to strengthen our clients after-sales and spares capability. This is a varied and commercially focused role working across service projects, spares, and performance improvement, supporting customers across a wide range of industrial sectors.
The Role:
- You will manage and coordinate after-sales service projects and spares-related activities, from initial enquiry and quotation through to execution, completion, and financial close-out.
- This position sits at the centre of service delivery, working closely with engineering, field service, spares, procurement, and management teams, with a strong focus on commercial control, KPI monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Occasional support to field service coordination may be required, but this is not a scheduling role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Appraise and coordinate after-sales service project and spares enquiries
- Prepare and progress quotations and proposals
- Coordinate service projects from order through to completion and invoicing
- Support development of new spares and after-sales offerings
- Monitor and report on service and spares KPIs and performance
- Identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship background, or strong hands-on experience within an industrial or engineering environment
- Engineering graduates will also be considered
- Experience within industrial, plant, or process engineering environments
- Background in service delivery, after-sales, spares, or engineering project support
- Strong organisational skills with good commercial awareness
- Clear and confident communicator, comfortable working with customers and internal teams
- Full UK driving licence
- Salesforce experience (or similar CRM/service management systems) would be advantageous
- NetSuite or ERP system experience would be an added benefit
- Desirable: Experience with steam systems, thermal equipment, combustion, or industrial services

The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will take ownership of engineering procurement and supply chain management activities across low-volume, technically complex components including:
- Fabrications
- Electrical harnessing
- Mechanical and electrical engineered components
- OEM parts and aftermarket products
- Production and MRO materials
You will be responsible for supplier relationship management, cost reduction, purchase order management, material planning (MRP), and driving supplier performance to ensure uninterrupted production.
This role sits at the heart of manufacturing operations, working closely with Planning, Production, Quality and Engineering teams to deliver on business-critical objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Placing and managing purchase orders using ERP/MRP systems (QAD experience desirable)
- Leading supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings and improved commercial terms
- Developing and managing long-term supply agreements
- Driving supplier performance through KPI management (OTIF, quality, delivery metrics)
- Supporting production through effective material planning and inventory control
- Using MRP systems to manage demand, forecasts and stock optimisation
- Resolving supply chain risks in a time-critical manufacturing environment
- Maintaining supplier quotation databases and procurement documentation
- Enhancing procurement processes and supply chain efficiency
- Mentoring and supporting Buyers within the procurement team
Experience Required
We are looking for a Senior Buyer or Procurement Specialist with:
- Proven experience in engineering or manufacturing procurement
- Strong background sourcing mechanical and/or electrical components
- Experience working with OEM and aftermarket parts
- Solid understanding of supply chain management in a production environment
- ERP/MRP system experience (QAD highly advantageous)
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
- Experience managing a broad supplier portfolio
- Ability to operate independently and cross-functionally
- Knowledge of ITAR / Export Controls or working within regulated industries would be advantageous.

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER REQUIRED IN BLACKBURN (LANCASHIRE)
Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer who is slightly more Electrically biased, and are you seeking a new job in Blackburn?!
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well established manufacturer in Blackburn, the hiring manager is looking for someone who is slightly more Electrically biased (70% Electrical) but also has a good mechanical background.
You will start on a day shift (8:00am–4:30pm) for the first 12-18 months, but you will move to afternoon shifts after this initial period, so you MUST be prepared to work a permanent afternoon shift. You will also be required to cover alternative shifts from the start, particularly during holidays or absence should there be any short falls due to sickness / holidays etc.
The hiring manager would prefer someone who has either completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, or someone who holds an ONC, HNC or HND qualification (or is NVQ Level 3 qualified as a minimum).
Previous experience with Mitsubishi PLCs would be preferred but isn't essential, a 17th or 18th edition qualification would also be preferred.
Anyone who has previously worked in the carpet, textile, paper manufacturing or non-woven industry would be well received, and this job would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as Maintenance Engineer, Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Production Maintenance Engineer, Site Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Engineering Technician.
What You Will Do:
- Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and optimal condition.
- Conduct effective risk assessments to promote safety for yourself and your colleagues.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimise downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance to enhance equipment reliability.
- Analyse data to improve equipment performance and efficiency.

What You Will Bring:
- An experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer who is slightly more Electrically biased.
- Time-served Multi-Skilled apprenticeship with training in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, or someone who holds an ONC, HNC or HND qualification (or a minimum of an NVQ Level 3).
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and electrical instrument installation and wiring.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- PLC fault finding experience (preferably with Mitsubishi) - PREFERRED

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems and components for new and existing products
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and PTC Creo
Integrate electrical components within mechanical assemblies, ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards - Develop wiring diagrams, cable routing layouts, harness designs, and enclosure integrations
Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and risk assessments - Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and manufacturing engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities

Required Qualifications and Experince
- 3+ years’ experience in product design with a focus on electrical systems and electrical distribution equipment
- Majority of your experience should be working for OEM or Tier 1 manufacturing businesses
- HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and Creo
- Strong understanding of electrical system integration within mechanical products
- Experience with cable harness design, connectors, PCB integration, and enclosure design
- Knowledge of relevant electrical safety and compliance standards
- Ability to interpret and produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with PLM systems
