We're recruiting for an experienced Payroll professional to join a well established manufacturing business in Coventry for an initial three month assignment. This is a hands on role where you'll take ownership of multiple payrolls, ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, and provide expert support across Payroll, HR and Finance.

The Role
As Payroll Manager, you'll oversee the end to end UK payroll process, ensuring payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time.
Working closely with HR, Finance and operational teams, you'll manage payroll inputs, statutory payments, pensions, reconciliations, reporting and payroll queries while maintaining excellent payroll controls and compliance.
You'll also have the opportunity to support the coordination of the company's Canadian payroll through an external provider, although previous Canadian payroll experience is not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied payroll management role and can quickly become a trusted member of an established team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete UK payroll process using Sage Payroll
- Process new starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, bonuses and payroll amendments
- Ensure PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments are processed accurately
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and BACS payment files
- Complete HMRC submissions and maintain payroll compliance
- Resolve payroll queries from employees and managers professionally and efficiently
- Maintain payroll controls, audit trails and accurate documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency
About You
We're looking for an experienced Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Professional who enjoys working independently while collaborating with wider business teams.
You'll ideally have:
- Extensive experience managing end to end UK payroll
- Strong working knowledge of Sage Payroll
- Excellent understanding of UK payroll legislation including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments
- Experience processing payroll reconciliations, BACS files and HMRC submissions
- Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work under pressure and meet strict payroll deadlines
- Experience within manufacturing or engineering would be advantageous but is not essential
Experience using AI assisted tools, or a willingness to embrace new technologies, would also be welcomed.

PERMANENT JOB VACANCY - LASER OPERATOR
We are proud to be working with a long-standing sheet metal fabrication business in Sandbach who are looking for an experienced Laser Operator to join them on a permanent basis.
The hiring manager would prefer someone who has worked on a Trumpf Laser, but they would consider someone who has worked on an Amada Laser (or similar).
During the first 12 weeks whilst training you will work a fixed day shift (7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 12.30pm finish Friday - 39 hours per week), but you will then be required to work a rotating 6-2/2-10 shift pattern Monday to Friday (38 hours per week).
The starting salary on days would range between £26,770 - £29,811 per annum (DOE), but once you move onto the rotating shift system your salary will range between £32,700 - £36,300 per annum (DOE).
Overtime is regularly available and is paid at T1/3 after 39 hours, and T1/2 after 48 hours, this business also offers a £2,000 new starter incentive bonus which is a staggered payment (£200 after the first month, £800 once you've passed probation and the final £1,000 to be paid after 12 months service).
Anyone who has previously worked as a CNC Laser Setter, Laser Operator, Laser Setter, Trumpf Laser Operator, Press Brake Operator or CNC Operator with Trumpf experience would be a great fit.
What You Will Do:
- Operate a Trumpf CNC laser machine with precision and efficiency.
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD layouts to ensure accurate production.
- Maintain high-quality standards in laser cutting processes and steel material handling.
- Perform basic mechanical maintenance on equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and exceed expectations.
- Utilise Trumpf software, such as TruTops or Boost, to optimise laser cutting processes.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven experience operating a Trumpf (or Amada) CNC laser machine.

- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD layouts.

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical biased Test Engineer to join our engineering team, responsible for the inspection, testing and verification of bespoke electrical systems and equipment throughout the manufacturing process.
This role operates within highly regulated industries, including the nuclear sector, where strict adherence to quality, safety and compliance standards is essential. You will be responsible for ensuring electrical systems, control panels and associated equipment are fully tested, verified and documented prior to delivery.
This position will require eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) due to the nature of the projects and customer sites involved.
Working closely with Design, Manufacturing and Quality teams, you will help ensure all products meet customer specifications, relevant legislation and industry standards.
The Role
As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will:
- Carry out electrical inspection, testing and fault finding on low-voltage electrical systems, control panels and associated equipment.
- Perform electrical verification, including continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, and functional testing using calibrated test equipment.
- Carry out and support hydraulic testing activities, including pressure testing of associated systems where required (following appropriate procedures and safety controls).
- Produce and maintain electrical and test documentation, including:
- Electrical inspection and test records
- Functional test procedures
