A large food manufacturer are seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join their procurement team. This role is looking after packaging, raw material and direct consumables and the chance to lead sourcing activity that protects service levels, strengthens supplier performance, and delivers measurable savings.
What You Will Do:
- Own the commercial and operational performance for Direct Spend category areas, including packaging and ingredients as a Procurement Category Manager.
- Develop and maintain category plans by analysing spend, supplier performance, pricing trends and market conditions.
- Lead sourcing activities such as RFQs, tenders, supplier evaluations and commercial negotiations for the Procurement Category Manager portfolio.
- Deliver savings, cost avoidance and supplier consolidation opportunities, ensuring recommendations balance cost, quality, service, risk and operational needs.
- Manage key supplier relationships, run supplier review meetings, and drive improvement actions against agreed KPIs.
- Coach and support two Buyers, allocate workload, review outputs, and act as the escalation point for operational buying issues.
What You Will Bring:
- Strong procurement and/or category management experience, ideally with direct spend such as packaging, ingredients, raw materials or comparable categories within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- CIPS qualification (preferred) or the confidence to work towards it, combined with strong contract terms and conditions knowledge.
- Proven analytical ability, including advanced Excel experience for spend analysis, cost comparisons and decision support.
- Commercial awareness and confidence leading negotiations across pricing, payment terms, service levels and supplier agreements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, plus the ability to work independently, proactively and under pressure.

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.
Jonathan Lee Workforce Solutions are the preferred supplier to Mazak and are seeking a Spindle Tester.
Job Description
The role is mainly (but not limited to) checking and testing Mazak spindles to new standards and will involve various assembly and test-related tasks related to spindles such as:
- Electrical assembly work is required to connect each spindle to the test rig in the correct and safe manner.
- Electrical checks of stators (new and re-used/repaired) to ensure conformance to standard Mazak check sheets.
- Setting up spindles for testing and operating NC controls.
- Precision adjustment related to Mazak work instructions.
- Carrying out various quality checks during the testing process involving precision equipment such as micrometers, testbars, dial test indicators, clampforce and axial force gauges.
Person Specification.
Essential Criteria.
- Background in precision engineering or electrical assy.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and good communication, attention to detail.
- Organised, able to plan ahead and good ability to follow written procedures.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances using hand tools and measuring equipment.
Desirable Criteria.
- Apprentice trained.
- Good understanding of mechanical component drawings and assemblies.
- Previous experience of electrical systems / NC controls.
- Good understanding of testing electrical motors and fault finding.
- Previous experience with vernier calipers, depth mics, force gauges and micrometers.
- Previous experience of Mazak spindles.

The Role
You'll join a collaborative Electronics & Controls team, developing embedded software for transmission control systems and supporting products from concept through to validation. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing embedded software in C.
- Producing high and low-level software designs from functional requirements.
- Working within a structured V-model software development process.
- Supporting verification and validation activities, including automated testing.
- Carrying out code reviews and ensuring compliance with software quality and functional safety standards.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
About You - We're looking for engineers with:
- Proven experience developing embedded software in C (C++ also beneficial).
- Experience working on embedded control systems.
- Knowledge of functional safety and relevant ISO standards.
- Experience following structured software development processes.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within engineering teams.
