A large food manufacturer are seeking an experienced electrically bias Maintenance Engineer to join its dynamic team. What You Will Do:

- Lead your team during breakdowns, using your expertise and problem-solving skills to minimise downtime.

- Carry out planned maintenance activities efficiently and take corrective actions to ensure machinery runs at optimal levels.

- Respond quickly to breakdowns across multiple areas of the factory, identifying root causes and suggesting improvements.

- Communicate effectively with the Engineering Shift Manager and operations team to reduce plant disruptions.

- Promote good engineering practices while maintaining high hygiene standards throughout the factory.

- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety guidelines, taking proactive steps to improve safety measures.

 

What You Will Bring:

- Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines (BTEC & NVQ L3, HNC, HND).

- Proven engineering experience, ideally within food manufacturing or a similar industry.

- Strong mechanical fitting skills and familiarity with process machinery.

- A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Working a 4-on-4-off days and nights shift pattern, you'll be responsible for driving engineering best practices across the shift, supporting the development of engineers, and maintaining high standards of engineering performance. What You Will Do:

- Lead and manage a team of Engineers and Apprentices to ensure smooth operations during shifts.

- Oversee the engineering performance of fast-moving production lines, ensuring equipment set-up, shut-down, and output performance meet standards.

We are looking to appoint a Shipping Operative. The successful candidate will support the preparation, packaging and dispatch of machines, ensuring products are shipped safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on role working closely with internal departments and transport providers to ensure efficient shipping operations.

Job Description

  • Prepare machines and associated equipment for dispatch in line with company standards.
  • Package and secure machines to ensure safe transportation.
  • Assist with loading machines onto trailers and transport vehicles.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure machines are ready for shipment.
  • Complete shipping documentation and records accurately.
  • Support investigations relating to shipping issues and customer feedback where required.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for all shipping activities.
  • Carry out pre-dispatch checks to ensure quality and customer requirements are met
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the Shipping Department.
  • Ensure all shipping activities comply with health, safety and company standards.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, logistics, warehouse or shipping environment.
  • Experience preparing, packaging or handling large products or equipment would be advantageous.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to follow processes, procedures and work instructions accurately.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and supporting colleagues when required.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy for completing documentation and records.
  • Flexible approach and willingness to learn new processes and systems.

Desirable Criteria

  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
  • Overhead Crane experience.
