Job Description

  • Setting weekly plans and targets to ensure the team meet the required daily output.
  • Report daily on any issues with regards to receiving parts internally and the smooth flow of machines through the area.  
  • Monitoring and control of budgets.
  • Responsibility for the control of risk assessments, staff training plans and SDQCP activities.
  • Maintenance and control quality levels promoting high standards throughout the team, ensuring that we continue to complete machines to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensuring the communication between departments and sections results in an effective supply and smooth flow of parts.
  • Ensuring Yamazaki Mazak Health, Safety and Environmental rules and procedures are implemented, and information within the department is always up to date and available to the staff.
  • Promote a positive culture amongst staff by engaging them in health and safety improvements and kaizen initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Drive 5S activity within your team.
  • Report and update the sections KPI results.
  • Manage and lead a team of technicians and operators.

  • Proven leader, with deliverables in all key areas: SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People).

  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

The role is to repair broken Mazak spindles to new standards and will involve various assembly tasks related to spindle build such as:

  • Precision measuring of spindle components.
  • Precision assembly and adjustment related to Mazak work instructions.
  • Carrying out various quality checks during the assembly process involving precision equipment such as micrometers, test bars, dial test indicators, clamp force and axial force gauges.
  • Balancing of spindle cartridges.
  • Electrical checks of stators (new and re-used/repaired) to ensure conformance to standard Mazak check sheets.

Our client is a well-established manufacturer of custom plastic products. As an Injection Moulding Setter, you will be responsible for preparing materials, carry out tool changes and set & operate injection moulding machinery.  

 

Injection Moulding Setter Responsibilities:

-          Preparing materials ahead of production

-          Carry out injection moulding tool changes

-          Set and operate injection moulding machinery throughout the shift

-          Carry out all start up procedures for all machinery

-          Quality check and ensure that products meet client specifications

-          Clean and maintain equipment & production machinery

 

Injection Moulding Setter Requirements:

-          Previous experience working as an Injection Moulding Setter

-          Must be able to work a rotational shift pattern

-          Experienced in carrying out tool changes and start up procedures for all machinery

-          Experienced in problem-solving related issues within production

-          Must be a team player

-          Must be able to work to engineering drawings.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience in creating dashboards and reporting capabilities using Tableau, with a strong eye for visually meaningful data presentation.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling and relational database structures, with experience in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
  • Hands-on experience in automating data processes and developing Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.
  • A proactive and independent work ethic, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A valid driving licence, as occasional travel to different UK sites may be required.
