Overview:

  • Are you an experienced Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, or Quality Control professional looking for a hands-on manufacturing quality role?
  • We are recruiting for a Quality Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business in Dudley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with quality inspection, ISO 9001, and manufacturing quality experience who enjoys working closely with production and engineering teams to improve product quality and reduce waste.

The role:

  • As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for first-off, in-process, and final inspection activities, ensuring products meet specification and customer quality requirements. You will also support process control, non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections
  • Perform quality inspections using measurement and inspection equipment
  • Verify products against specifications and quality standards
  • Monitor defects, scrap, and reject rates
  • Raise and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Assist with ISO 9001 quality system compliance
  • Participate in internal quality audits
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and technical teams to improve quality performance

What we’re looking for:

We are interested in candidates with experience in quality inspection, quality assurance, or quality control within a manufacturing environment.

You should have:

  • Previous experience as a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, QC Technician, QA Technician, or Inspection Technician
  • Experience of manufacturing quality inspection
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Experience using measurement and inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • The ability to investigate and challenge quality issues professionally
  • Good IT skills, including Excel

Desirable experience

  • Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
  • Foundry, metal pressing, ceramics, refractory, engineering, heavy manufacturing, or industrial manufacturing
  • Internal ISO 9001 auditing
  • SAP
  • Lean manufacturing or 5S
  • Continuous improvement projects

Production Supervisor - Tewkesbury


In support of a privately owned and successful SME UK based manufacturing Group, a new role of Production Supervisor based in Tewkesbury is required who will be responsible for supporting the Operations Director in the day-to-day coordination, supervision and performance of the production areas. The role will provide a clear management presence across the machining and production teams, helping to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standard and in line with customer and business priorities.

The Production Supervisor will work closely with Section Leads, Team Leads, Planning, Engineering, Quality and other departments to maintain production flow, resolve day-to-day issues, improve communication and support consistent standards of performance, conduct and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day running of the assigned production areas.
  • Support the Operations Director in delivering production plans, customer priorities and operational targets.
  • Monitor workload, capacity, bottlenecks and resource requirements across production areas.
  • Ensure employees understand daily priorities, expected standards and any changes to production requirements.
  • Support the effective use of labour, equipment, materials and working time.
  • Help identify and resolve issues affecting production flow, including delays, rework, shortages, machine downtime or skills gaps.
  • Escalate significant operational issues to the Operations Director where appropriate.
  • Promote good housekeeping, safe working practices and professional standards across the production areas.
  • Encourage continuous improvement.
  • Support training, development and skills progression within the production teams.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality to ensure technical requirements are understood and followed.
  • Support the implementation of business systems, procedures and process improvements.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, support and direction to employees within the assigned areas.
  • Work with Section Leads and Team Leads to ensure employees are working effectively and meeting expected standards.
  • Address minor conduct, timekeeping, attendance, productivity and performance issues at an early stage.
  • Carry out return-to-work discussions, welfare check-ins and informal performance conversations where appropriate.
  • Support HR and the Operations Director with investigations, disciplinary, capability or absence matters where required. Help ensure holiday, absence and shift cover arrangements are managed effectively.
  • Support communication between shopfloor employees, Section Leads and senior management.
  • Encourage a positive, accountable and team-focused working environment.

Quality, Delivery and Health & Safety

  • Ensure production work is completed in line with drawings, specifications, work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Reinforce the importance of right-first-time quality and accurate job completion.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering to help resolve non-conformances, rework issues and recurring problems.
  • Support delivery performance by monitoring job progress and helping remove obstacles.
  • Ensure employees follow health and safety rules, PPE requirements and safe systems of work.
  • Report and escalate health and safety concerns promptly.
  • Support accident, near-miss or quality investigations where required.
  • Promote a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Skills and Experience - Essential

  • Experience in CNC machining, precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.
  • Good understanding of production flow, operational priorities and shopfloor management.
  • Ability to supervise, organise and motivate people.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal with issues directly and professionally.
  • Good problem-solving ability and a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Good awareness of quality, health and safety and delivery requirements.

Ideally, you should have experience of working within the aerospace sector and have familiarity with production planning systems or ERP/MRP systems.

Success will be measured by improved day-to-day control of production areas, better communication and improved delivery performance and production flow.

Job Description:

  • Setting weekly plans and targets to ensure the team achieves required daily output.
  • Reporting daily on any issues relating to parts availability and supporting the smooth flow of spindles through the department.
  • Maintaining and controlling quality standards, ensuring the team consistently completes spindle repairs to the highest levels.
  • Ensuring effective communication between teams and departments to support an efficient spindle repair process.
  • Ensuring Yamazaki Mazak Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are implemented, maintained and communicated effectively across the department.
  • Promoting a positive culture by engaging employees in health and safety improvements, continuous improvement activities and Kaizen initiatives.

Hydraulic Engineer

Our client is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in Telford to lead machine testing activity. This is an exciting opportunity to work on bespoke hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems working for an established SME who continue to grow.  

You will be supporting projects from factory acceptance testing through to installation and commissioning. As Hydraulic Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment meets the highest standards of quality, safety and performance You'll work closely with design engineers, production teams and customers to develop test procedures. Excellent remuneration available for a skilled engineer with in depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, automation and controls and some design capability on CAD.

Salary: up to £60K

Location: Telford, Shropshire

Hours: Days Monday to Friday (Lunch time finish Friday)

Hydraulic Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce test documentation for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), customer FATs, installation, commissioning and sea trials
  • Read, interpret and verify hydraulic circuits to develop flushing and pressure testing procedures
  • Interpret electrical schematics and assist with system verification
  • Support the testing and troubleshooting of hydraulic, electrical and control systems
  • Assist with PLC and drive system diagnostics
  • Carry out in-house testing and customer site commissioning
  • Create and update AutoCAD drawings for test layouts and equipment
  • Record and maintain test specifications, serial number registers and technical documentation
  • Analyse and compile test data, identifying opportunities for process improvements

About You

You'll be a practical engineer with strong fault-finding skills and the confidence to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team with a background in purpose built machinery or heavy production machines and material handling equipment. 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in assembly, test and validation, testing or commissioning of industrial machinery and heavy machinery
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Engineering qualifications - mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and control systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills

Desirable

  • Experience with PLC and Drive systems
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Heavy Industry and mechanical systems
