Tool Change Setter/Fitter (Injection & Blow Moulding)

We're recruiting for an experienced Tool Change Setter/Fitter to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a modern production environment, working with injection and blow moulding machinery while playing a key role in maximising production efficiency.

The Role

As a Tool Change Setter/Fitter, you'll be responsible for carrying out efficient tool changes, preparing machinery for production and supporting the engineering team to minimise downtime and maintain safe, efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out tool changes on injection and blow moulding machines in line with setting sheets and target changeover times.
  • Prepare and install all secondary equipment required for production.
  • Complete all tool change documentation accurately and on time.
  • Identify and report defects with mould tools, dies, machinery or associated equipment.
  • Support basic maintenance activities on production equipment, including granulators and power packs where required.
  • Return tooling to the toolroom following production runs.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and promote safe working practices at all times.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience carrying out tool and die changes on injection and/or blow moulding machines.
  • The ability to work from setting sheets and follow structured processes.
  • FLT licence or previous forklift experience.
  • Lifting and slinging experience.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety within manufacturing.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A willingness to undertake further training where required.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Deburrer / Linisher to join our clients manufacturing team. Working within the finishing department, you will be responsible for preparing and finishing a range of precision-engineered metal components to the required quality standards before inspection and dispatch.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in a precision engineering, fabrication, aerospace, automotive, or general manufacturing environment who takes pride in producing high-quality finished components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deburr and finish machined and fabricated metal components using hand and power tools.
  • Operate linishing and polishing equipment to achieve the required surface finish.
  • Remove sharp edges, burrs and machining marks while maintaining dimensional integrity.
  • Work from engineering drawings and job instructions where required.
  • Carry out visual inspections to ensure components meet customer quality standards.
  • Use a variety of finishing equipment including hand grinders, orbital sanders, files and abrasive wheels.
  • Ensure components are cleaned, labelled and prepared for the next stage of manufacture.
  • Report any defects, damaged components or quality concerns to the Team Leader.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S and health & safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the finishing department.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Deburrer, Linisher, Metal Finisher or Fettler within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience finishing steel, stainless steel or aluminium components.
  • Ability to use a range of hand-held finishing tools safely and effectively.
  • Good attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
  • Able to read basic engineering drawings (desirable).
  • Experience working to tight tolerances would be advantageous.
  • Good manual dexterity and practical skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Are you an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver seeking a new job opportunity, are you happy working 12 hour days or night shifts and do you hold an ITSSAR or RTITB or Brittop accredited license that is currently within 3 or 5 years?!

We are actively seeking several FLT Counterbalance Drivers to join a leading food manufacturing business in Telford, Shropshire, this role is a fixed term contract with the company and is likely to last until the end of March 2027.

The shift pattern available is as followed:

    • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (and every other Sunday) 12hr days shifts- £13.31ph
    • Thursday, Friday & Saturday (and every other Sunday) - (12 hour day shifts) - £13.31ph
    • Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (and every other Saturday)- 12hr night shifts- £15.13ph

The hiring manager is looking for people who have a minimum of 12 months experience driving a counterbalance forklift truck.

They are keen to interview as soon as possible with the aim of people starting week commencing 3rd of August. 

 

What You Will Do:

  • Operate the Counterbalance truck in line with Health & Safety regulations, ensuring safe and careful manoeuvring in a busy warehouse.
  • Move goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport, including unloading deliveries and relocating items to their designated storage locations.
  • Keep forklift areas free from obstructions and contribute to a clean, hazard-free working environment.
  • Regularly check the Counterbalance truck for faults or damage and escalate any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to support smooth warehouse operations and timely order movement.
  • Follow company procedures and use the correct PPE for the task to maintain a high standard of hygiene and presentation.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • An accredited Counterbalance forklift licence that has been refreshed or passed within the last 3 to 5 years. 
  • At least 12 months experience operating a Counterbalance forklift or Combi truck in a busy warehouse setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality, with a dependable attitude and a commitment to reliability.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions.

Job Description:

  • Setting weekly plans and targets to ensure the team achieves required daily output.
  • Reporting daily on any issues relating to parts availability and supporting the smooth flow of spindles through the department.
  • Maintaining and controlling quality standards, ensuring the team consistently completes spindle repairs to the highest levels.
  • Ensuring effective communication between teams and departments to support an efficient spindle repair process.
