Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Skilled Machinist/Fitter to work for our client at their facility in Kidderminster, the role is responsible for undertaking machining duties in line with quality standards and best engineering practices. The role ensures activities are carried out efficiently to meet delivery requirements and may include supporting peripheral activities such as assembly and packing.
Reporting & Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Works Manager or Production Planning Manager.
- Liaises with all internal departments as necessary.
- Participates proactively in internal and external quality audits.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Advise on renewal or replacement of plant and equipment as needed.

- Obtain approval from senior management for any expenditure commitments.
- Demonstrate safe working practices at all times for both internal staff and visitors.
- Display flexibility and a positive approach to tasks as required.
- Follow reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel, in line with job responsibilities and company objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience operating machinery such as vertical/horizontal borers, lathes, and drilling machines.
- Maths and English GCSE grade 4/5 (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform performance and reliability testing on refrigerated display cabinets.
- Support prototype builds including brazing, pipework, and system assembly.
- Apply FGAS certification knowledge to ensure safe refrigerant handling.

We are seeking an Injection Moulding Setter to join our dynamic technical team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of customer components. Trainee setters will also be considered for this role.
As an Injection Moulding Setter, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the Material Logistics Controllers to ensure the proper preparation and cleaning of raw materials and equipment.
- Efficiently setting up and adjusting injection moulding machines, robotics, and ancillary equipment to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Undertaking tool changes, second operation set-ups, and clean-downs as required, adhering to established procedures and timeframes.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving processing issues, such as delamination, splash, flash, rippling, distortion, and dimensional intolerance.
- Submitting successful first-off samples and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the production process.
- Performing routine maintenance on injection moulding machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Actively participating in production improvement projects and sharing knowledge with the team.
- Serving as a key holder and emergency team member, ensuring the safe and timely operation of the facility.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience as an Injection Moulding Setter, with a proven track record of problem-solving and optimising production.
- Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting automation, including sprue pickers, sprue cutters, and robot hands.
- Familiarity with working with technical-grade polymers, such as Acetal, ABS, Polypropylene, Nylons, and Grivory.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, and MRP systems.
- A commitment to working in a structured, process-oriented environment and adhering to ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- A flexible approach to working rotating 3 shifts, including night work. The hours are 5.45am-2pm / 1.45pm-10pm / 9.45pm-6am.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Non-conformance reports (NCRs) for shortages or defective goods received from clients.
- NCRs for non-conforming outsourced components.
- On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
- Customer feedback and satisfaction.
- Timely resolution of customer issues.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Execute quality processes and procedures; report quality variances to the Quality Manager.
- Collaborate to ensure inspection methods and quality processes are fit for purpose.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned reviews.
- Monitor and control calibrated items and verification tools.
- Ensure all inspected components are traceable to purchase orders or project numbers.
- Verify incoming goods (including kits) meet specifications and documentation requirements; reject defective items in a timely manner.
- Confirm certifications (Mill Certificates, Certificates of Conformity) are correct and traceable.
- Conduct supplier and vendor inspections as required.
- Identify, document, and report defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
- Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using equipment such as CMM arms, micrometers, and verniers.
- Maintain accurate quality records using defined systems (e.g., MRP, MyCompliance) or written formats.
- Inspect kits/components prior to issue and record anomalies.
- Assist in developing Quality Control inspection plans and routings.
- Perform inspections on internally produced components, including stock items, laser-cut plates, and pressed sections.
- Ensure inspections conform to quality plans, inspection and test plans, routings, and other controlling documents.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections, including weld inspections and verification of fabrication drawings.
- Ensure non-destructive testing (NDT) is completed when required, with reports logged appropriately.
- Inspect surface treatments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Verify finished goods are undamaged, packed correctly, and documented for dispatch.
- Liaise with client inspection teams as needed.
- Produce and maintain NCRs, and assist with root cause investigations.
- Support project close-out reviews and lessons learned exercises.
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities, including monitoring hazardous substances where applicable.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties appropriate to the role.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Certified licenses for operating site-approved forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Apprentice trained or equivalent experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Skilled in selecting and using appropriate inspection equipment.
- Strong IT literacy, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels.

The hiring manager would prefer someone who has previous experience within the food manufacturing sector, and we are looking for someone who lives within a 25-mile radius of Telford (Shropshire).
This will be a 2-stage interview process, with the first stage consisting of a numeracy and literacy assessment on site in Telford, Shropshire.
This job would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Senior Production Manager, Production Operations Manager or Manufacturing Manager within the Food Manufacturing Industry.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee daily production plans to ensure all resources, materials, and equipment are in place.
- Develop strategies to manage order flow and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Analyse short‑term performance data (24–72 hours) to drive improvements.
- Troubleshoot ongoing production challenges and escalate where needed.
- Monitor product quality and line efficiency, implementing targeted improvements.
- Chair development meetings, support product trials, and manage line changeovers.
- Oversee planned equipment maintenance and ensure machinery is operating optimally.

Mazak's Spindle Service Centre (SSC) is a dedicated resource that maximises Spindle performance for their customers.
The department is looking to invest in capacity to align production with the increased demand for SSC-repaired spindles.
The successful candidate will be part of the Spindle Strip & Wash team based at the PDC site, working together to achieve targets set by the area team leader.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
- Transport between the PDC, the SSC main site, and external suppliers.
- The loading of goods in and goods out
- To book in spindles using SSC database
- Strip down returned broken spindles.
- Clean parts using approved methods.
- Test spindle stators to check if they are good to reuse.
- Inspect stripped parts to determine if they can be reused.
- Follow health & safety guidelines.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- UK Driving licence
- Computer literate using the SSC database and Microsoft software.
