We’re currently recruiting for a Production Support Operative with mechanical assembly skills and material handling experience to join a well-established engineering business in Telford to support their machine fitters and wirer's. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on individual looking to develop their skills in a varied and well organised environment. Excellent range of benefits available and earning potential as well as ongoing training and development. 

Hours: Working days with a lunch time finish on Friday

Salary: £29 - 31,000

The Role

You’ll be supporting production, engineering, and logistics teams with a mix of practical and administrative tasks, including:

  • Forklift driving  
  • Mechanical assembly, packing, and preparation of parts and machinery
  • Quality checking high-value equipment
  • Supporting engineers on the shop floor
  • Completing documentation and admin tasks
  • General workshop duties and housekeeping

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a hands-on or manufacturing role
  • Confident using hand tools (spanners, drills, etc.)
  • Basic IT skills (Excel, Word)
  • Forklift licence – Advantageous
  • Basic electrical knowledge

You will have current or recent experience as mechanical assembler or in mechanical assembly, production support or production technician in a technology or engineering environment. Material handling or stores operative, electrical assmebly, panel wiring

Production Team Leader - Manufacturing
Location: Coventry
Salary: £17.61 per hour + shift allowance (equivalent to approximately £36,500 per annum)
Job Type: Double Days | 9 day fortnight | Permanent

An established manufacturing business in Coventry is looking to recruit an experienced Production Team Leader to join its Press Shop operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for leading a small production team, ensuring daily production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and housekeeping. You'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, developing your team and supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and supervise a small team of production operators.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
  • Promote a positive working culture focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct team briefings and support the development of operators.
  • Monitor housekeeping and ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues to minimise downtime.
  • Set up presses or assembly equipment following training and procedures.
  • Operate production equipment when required to support output.
  • Manage consumable stock levels and raise maintenance requests where necessary.
  • Complete production documentation and pass off production runs.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar leadership role within manufacturing.
  • A background in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Strong people management skills, including dealing with HR-related matters.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • An FLT licence would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Hours

This role operates on a rotating shift pattern averaging 37.5 hours per week.

Early Shift (5-day week) Monday-Thursday: 6:00am-2:15pm Friday: 6:00am-12:30pm

Back Shift (4-day week) Monday-Wednesday: 2:00pm-12:00am Thursday: 2:00pm-11:30pm

A shift allowance is paid in addition to the hourly rate for 31.5hrs over a 2 week period.

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience designing fabricated steel products and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor?

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering specialist bespoke products for demanding industrial and infrastructure applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging projects from concept through to manufacture, taking ownership of 3D modelling, detailed engineering drawings and design-for-manufacture solutions.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative and manufacturable engineering solutions using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Working closely with manufacturing, project, production and analysis teams, you will ensure designs are practical, compliant and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor
  • Produce General Arrangement, fabrication and assembly drawings
  • Generate Bills of Materials and manufacturing documentation
  • Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles throughout projects
  • Design fabricated steel structures, components and assemblies
  • Ensure designs comply with BS8888 and company standards
  • Conduct Designer Risk Assessments and support CDM compliance
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and customer teams
  • Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions

What We're Looking For:

  • HND/HNC or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent
  • industry experience
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Vault
  • Background in steel fabrication, sheet metal or heavy engineering design
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including press brake and fabrication techniques
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and BS8888 standards
  • Understanding of structural behaviour, load paths and failure modes
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills:        

  • Welding knowledge and fabrication methods
  • iLogic or VB programming experience
  • Understanding of tolerance analysis and tolerance stacking
  • Experience with drive and control systems
  • Existing SC Clearance
