Are you a Senior Manufacturing Engineer interested in working with an SME who are a niche manufacturer of of crewed and uncrewed aircraft's seeking to build their Manufacturing Team in developing new products and systems to support ongoing demands within the defence industry based out of their Salisbury operation.

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will support new R&D projects dealing with innovative materials, processes, manufacturing systems and equipment and as such a background within NPI, NPD, Industrialisation and/or product launch would be a distinct advantage. 

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for: 

  • Implementation of selection and control of manufacturing processes during R&D phase of new product introduction, implementing manufacturing plans and creating SOP's. 
  • Developing and managing BOM's in line with the latest release of eBoM to ensure all parts of an aircraft or key assembly are identified and managed through the product life-cycle.
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings to create/amend work instructions and be able to identify the processes, tooling and equipment to maintain delivery and quality standards.
  • Leading the process of New Product Introduction to support the introduction of new products or modification programmes into production.
  • Production Non-Conformance (NC) in a product or process and be able to identify and gather the appropriate engineering data and deliver the containment, root cause analysis and corrective actions in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Driving forward Change Management process and subsequently plan, develop and execute the introduction of engineering change, while leading continuous improvement activities. 
  • Early identification for new equipment and submitting CAPEX requests.
  • Responsibility for creating production plans and shop layouts for new projects / new requirements.
  • Managing all technical issues and concerns related to the manufacturing operations covering production processes, equipment and materials. 

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer should posses the following:

  • Strong experience Manufacturing Engineering or Lead Technician experience, ideally from an aerospace or high-performance engineering background 
  • Exposure in NPI, NPD, Product Launch and/or Industrialisation to support new products and systems being developed by the business 
  • Creation and Management of Bill of Materials (eBoM to mBoM)
  • Creation of work instructions from Engineering data.
  • Competent use in CAD and PLM platforms
  • New product introduction (NPI) with APQP & PFMEA
  • Continuous Improvement Champion with exposure to Six Sigma, 8D, etc. 

To support this role, you MUST be able to support security clearances (SC) and be able to commit to national and international travel as required. This role is seeking excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

NEW MACHINE SETTER OPERATOR VACANCIES IN TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE!!!

Do you have previous Machine Setting, Machine Operating and/or Setting Operating experience within a production facility, and are you looking for a new permanent role to start ASAP?

We are proud to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Telford to help them recruit up to 5 Machine Setter Operators on a straight permanent basis, the starting salary is just under £34,000 per annum (with a pay review being discussed internally).

This role will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12 hour days and nights shifts) and the hiring manager is looking for someone that lives within a 20-25 mile radius of Telford, Shropshire.

The hiring manager is looking to invite candidates in on site to complete an initial assessment, before having a sit down with the Production Manager and having a full factory tour to see what the job would entail day to day.

These roles would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Technical Operator, Process Operator, Skilled Machine Operator, Machine Setter or Skilled Machinist within a production/manufacturing facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Show proficiency in timely machine setup, minimising downtime, and maximising efficiency through collaborative teamwork
  • Operate and closely monitor state-of-the-art machinery to ensure seamless and efficient production runs
  • Demonstrate effective problem solving with the ability to identify the root cause using available tools such as the process fault tree
  • Carry out routine maintenance and precision cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Maintain accurate records of production output and downtime, collaborating with your team to achieve and surpass output targets
  • Conduct thorough pre-use checks of machinery, promptly identifying and addressing any potential issues or faults, showcasing your technical ability
  • Undertake regular quality assessments of finished products, ensuring they consistently adhere to our high standards

What You Will Bring:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production based role
  • Previous experience within the FMCG sector - PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
