We're looking for an experienced Melting Manager/Foundry Manager to take ownership of a critical foundry operation, leading a skilled team, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality molten metal to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a rare opportunity for someone who thrives in heavy industry, understands the science behind the melt, and has the leadership presence to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What you'll be leading:
- Full operational responsibility for a complex melting department, including cupola and electric furnace operations
- Leadership of an experienced melting team, creating a culture built on safety, discipline, ownership, and high standards
- Daily planning and execution of furnace charging, melt scheduling, and resource deployment aligned to production demand
- Quality assurance across all melts, ensuring grade compliance, process consistency, and release authorisation against technical parameters
- Investigation of process deviations, root cause analysis, and implementation of lasting corrective actions
- Departmental cost control, including labour efficiency, overtime management, yield optimisation, and waste reduction
- Continuous improvement initiatives that increase throughput, improve quality, and reduce operational cost
- Collaboration with production, maintenance, planning, and wider foundry leadership to support business objectives
What we're looking for:
You'll likely come from a foundry, castings, metals, steel, iron, or heavy process manufacturing environment and bring:
- Proven leadership experience within melting, metallurgical, or foundry operations
- Strong knowledge of cupola and/or electric furnace processes
- A deep understanding of melt chemistry, process control, and metallurgical quality standards
- Experience using process data, thermal analysis, and operational metrics to drive decisions
- A track record of improving productivity, reducing waste, and delivering measurable cost savings
- Natural leadership capability, able to coach teams, challenge standards, and build accountability
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance within heavy industry

WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR NEEDED IN COVENTRY!!!
Are you an experienced Workshop Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Lead Technician, Lead Fitter or Section Supervisor who has experience from within the Automotive, Re-manufacturing or Defence sector, and are you looking for a permanent job on day shifts within Coventry?!
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join a leading re manufacturing business in Coventry, the working hours are 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), with a competitive salary on offer (which will be discussed during the application and pre-screening stage).
We are looking for someone who will be a hands-on supervisor that is still prepared to be on the tools and get their hands dirty, previous experience in a similar hands-on role is ESSENTIAL.
The hiring manager would like someone who has previous experience and knowledge working with diesel engine repairs (reconditioning and overhaul) and/or experience in repairing diesel power generators.
Previous experience working on military vehicles would be highly advantageous, and the hiring manager would also prefer someone to have a minimum of a NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
What You Will Do:
- Supervise the Reman/Plant Team, ensuring daily production targets and departmental objectives are consistently achieved.
- Actively oversee and support workshop activities, maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring all outputs meet customer expectations.
- Complete essential documentation accurately, including job cards, survey reports, production tracking sheets, and compliance records.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, fostering an environment that supports efficiency and teamwork.
- Operate as a hands-on Lead Technician, combining technical expertise with leadership to achieve operational goals.
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the section.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven experience in a lead technician role within a workshop or re-manufacturing environment - ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience within the Automotive, Re-manufacturing or Defence sector - ESSENTIAL
- A proven background in diesel engine repair, and/or experience servicing and repairing diesel power generators - ESSENTIAL
- Minimum of a NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills in both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Previous experience working with/on military vehicles - PREFERRED

The Role
As an Assembly Operative, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day production and assembly process, supporting the manufacture of precision composite components. Working to detailed work instructions, you will contribute to safe, efficient and high‑quality output across multiple production stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and finish composite components in line with production schedules and quality standards.
- Prepare, handle and load raw materials and components for use within the production process.
- Place cut materials and sub‑components into tooling, moulds and fixtures accurately and consistently.
- Operate manufacturing equipment such as presses, ovens and autoclaves following standard operating procedures.
- Carry out basic finishing, trimming and assembly tasks to meet specification requirements.
- Pack, label and prepare finished products for dispatch.
- Complete production records, check sheets and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area in line with health and safety requirements.
- Work closely with team members, supervisors and production leads to meet output targets.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in assembly, production or manufacturing is highly desirable.
- A practical, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written instructions, drawings and standard processes.
- Comfortable working in a team-based manufacturing environment.
- Good time management and the ability to meet production deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different assembly tasks.
- Experience with composite materials or high‑precision manufacturing would be an advantage, but is not essential.
