A leading food manufacturing is seeking a mechanically bias Maintenance Engineer to conduct routine, reactive maintenance and setting of machinery. You will have experience of conducting routine & reactive maintenance with experience of welding and fabrication. 

 Salary hourly paid- up to £18 per hour plus call out & overtime. 

Working hours

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 06:00 – 15:30

Wednesday 0600 - 1515

What You Will Do:

- Maintain and repair machinery and associated equipment, including setting and machines and ventilation systems.

- Support improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.

- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and poultry welfare standards.

- Work independently within farm buildings and handle manual processes, including lifting equipment up to 25 kg.

- Prioritise workload effectively while contributing to a strong team environment.

 

What You Will Bring:

- Qualification in a relevant engineering trade.

- Broad understanding of mechanical processes and assemblies.

- Knowledge of facilities maintenance, including welding, fabrication, plumbing, and pipe fitting.

Seeking a CNC Turning Program/ Setter/ Operator within the Machining Department.

Job Description

  • Programming, setting & operating Mazak Integrex & QT machines.
  • Producing a wide & varied range of highly toleranced parts which are used in the manufacture of Mazak CNC machines.
  • Understand Mazatrol CNC controls & be able to program/edit/improve existing & new parts.
  • Work within a team of fellow engineers to strict health & safety guidelines & rules.
  • Play your part in promoting positive culture amongst staff by engaging in H&S improvements & kaizen initiatives.

Essential Criteria

  • Have a solid understanding of setting & operating CNC controlled lathes.
  • Can demonstrate & have experience of safely using CNC controls.
  • Have a can-do attitude.
  • Prior experience working within a team in a busy manufacturing environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Program from drawing Mazatrol CNC controls.
  • Would have served a mechanical engineering apprenticeship/HNC etc.

The role will be on nightshift starting 10pm Sunday to Thursday 10:00pm - 6:00am 

Salary - £37500-£40600 depending on experience.

  • Completing job close-out activities for each work order
  • Carrying out weekly quality, health & safety and environmental audits
  • Issuing monthly maintenance tasks and ensuring all actions are logged
  • Providing daily back-up support to the shipping function
  • Supporting additional projects and duties as assigned by management

About You

LASER OPERATORS REQUIRED IN CHESHIRE!!!

Do you have previous experience operating a CNC Laser machine and are you seeking a new permanent job role within the Cheshire area?! If so get in touch with me today as we are recruiting 2 Laser Operators on a permanent contract.

The annual salary will depend on your experience, but the basic salary would be anything between £27,347 - £35,568 per annum, and you would be required to work a rotating 6-2/2-10 shift pattern (38 hours per week).

Overtime opportunities are available and are paid at T1/3 after 39 hours, and T1/2 after 48 hours, and this business also offers a £2,000 new starter incentive bonus which is a staggered payment.

The hiring manager would prefer someone who has worked on a Trumpf Laser, but they are open to looking at people who have worked on an Amada Laser.

An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.

What You Will Do:

  • Operate Trumpf CNC laser machines with precision and efficiency.
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD layouts to ensure accurate cutting processes.
  • Perform basic mechanical maintenance on machines to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality and detail in every task.
  • Utilise Trumpf software, such as TruTops and Boost, to optimise work flows.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience in operating CNC laser machines.
  • Strong understanding of laser cutting processes and steel materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with confidence.
  • Practical, hands-on skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering or Manufacturing (preferred).

The Opportunity

Are you a highly organised, solutions-driven planner who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment? We're looking for a Transport & Warehouse Planner to play a pivotal role in keeping our transport and warehouse operations running efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively.

This is a hands-on, office-based role where no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of operations - planning routes, managing capacity, solving problems in real time, and continuously improving how we work.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of both transport planning and warehouse capacity, including:

Smart Route Planning:

Optimising HGV routes to maximise efficiency, reduce fuel costs, and meet delivery schedules

Fleet Oversight: Monitoring vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and legal compliance

Operational Coordination: Acting as the key link between drivers, customers, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders

Compliance & Safety: Supporting full compliance with drivers' hours, vehicle standards, health & safety, and transport legislation

Problem Solving: Reacting quickly to delays, breakdowns, and changing priorities - and pro-actively planning ahead to avoid capacity issues

Customer Focus: Managing delivery queries and keeping customers informed with clear, timely communication

Cost Control: Tracking fuel usage, transport spend, and fleet costs to identify efficiencies

Continuous Improvement: Monitoring KPIs (storage, throughput, efficiency, cost per pallet) and recommending smarter processes and technology enhancements

Warehouse Planning: Optimising space, storage layouts, slotting strategies, and utilisation levels

Data & Reporting: Maintaining accurate capacity data and producing insightful reports using WMS and TMS systems

Collaboration: Working closely with operations, procurement, transport, and project teams - including supporting new warehouse set-ups or expansions

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience in transport and/or warehouse planning

Proven experience with HGV route planning, fleet management, or logistics operations

Strong working knowledge of transport compliance, drivers' hours, and cost control

Hands-on experience using WMS and TMS systems

Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Confident communicator - both written and verbal

A proactive, can-do attitude with pride in delivering a job well done

A strong team player who values collaboration

Working Pattern

Monday-Friday, 09:00-18:00 (30-minute break)

Some weekend working may be required during peak periods or emergencies

What You Will Bring:

  • A qualification in either an electrical or mechanical environment is desirable.
