Engineering Project Manager
Warwickshire

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join a dynamic Product Development function within a leading organisation operating in the automotive and advanced engineering sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware, organised and proactive project management professional to support the delivery of advanced engineering projects, manage programme budgets and provide accurate reporting across multiple projects and workstreams.
Working closely with engineering, design, finance and product teams across the UK and international locations, you will play a key role in ensuring projects remain on track, budgets are effectively managed, and senior stakeholders have the information needed to make informed decisions.
The role offers a varied blend of project delivery, financial planning, programme governance and continuous improvement, with opportunities to contribute to emerging engineering concepts, customer experience initiatives, new feature development and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of advanced engineering projects, acting as the primary project management contact and coordinating activities across multiple workstreams.
- Lead project reviews, define work scopes, coordinate resources and monitor progress against agreed milestones and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project plans, master trackers, risk registers, action logs and programme reporting.
- Support annual engineering budget planning, working with engineering teams, finance and budget owners to capture resource and material expenditure.
- Oversee monthly financial tracking, including actual spend, commitments, forecasts and budget movements.
- Work closely with project leads to review material spend forecasts, resolve financial queries and ensure accurate budget reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance to support timely project invoicing and maintain alignment between project forecasts and actual expenditure.
- Prepare and present project progress, financial performance, risks and recommendations to senior management.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders to support programme execution and consistent reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve project controls, budget reporting, tracking tools and monthly review processes.
- Support wider Product Development process improvements, including the exploration and adoption of relevant AI tools.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a structured and analytical project management professional who can balance programme delivery with financial control. You will be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities and translating complex project and financial information into clear, actionable updates.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in project management, programme coordination or project controls within an engineering, automotive, manufacturing or technical environment.
- Strong financial and budget management skills, including forecasting, expenditure tracking, variance analysis and reporting.
- Experience maintaining project plans, trackers, milestones, risks and deliverables across multiple projects.
- The ability to engage confidently with engineering teams, finance professionals, project leads and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- The ability to prepare clear reports, presentations and recommendations for management review.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to work across functions and international teams.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in improving processes, reporting tools and the use of technology.
Experience supporting engineering development programmes or working within a global product development environment would be advantageous.
If you have a strong background in engineering project management, financial tracking and cross-functional programme delivery, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
