The Role
You’ll support the full operations process, coordinating plans across procurement, stores, materials, production, quality and despatch. Working closely with the sales team, you’ll help set realistic schedules, communicate progress, and ensure customer expectations are managed effectively. You’ll act as a key point of contact for timeline queries, keeping both internal teams and customers updated on any changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and update production, materials and procurement schedules
  • Work with stores and despatch to ensure smooth movement of stock and finished goods
  • Update internal systems with accurate timelines and adjustments
  • Liaise with customers regarding lead times, changes and progress updates
  • Monitor workflow to identify risks or delays and escalate where needed
  • Coordinate with quality to ensure checks are completed on time
  • Support continuous improvement and help streamline operational processes

Overview
A technical manufacturing business in Newport, Shropshire is seeking an Account Manager to support customer relationships, drive account growth and ensure effective coordination between clients and internal teams. The successful candidate will have experience in a technical or manufacturing environment and will be comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities
    Develop and maintain strong working relationships with existing customers
  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into clear internal briefs for internal teams
  • Work closely with the technical team to create detailed quotes for customers
  • Sending and following quotes to convert to orders
  • Manage the full account lifecycle from initial enquiry through to delivery and after-sales support

What You Will Do:

- Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) in accordance with BS7671, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.

- Perform visual inspections and testing to identify defects, deviations, and potential safety risks, providing accurate and detailed reports.

- Use high-quality testing equipment and electronic reporting software to complete EICRs for a variety of electrical systems.

- Carry out emergency lighting testing to BS5266-1 and adhere to safe electrical isolation procedures.

- Travel across the UK, working on a wide range of electrical installations, predominantly in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.

 

What You Will Bring:

- Proven experience in electrical inspection and testing, with a strong understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671).

- A Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391 or 2394/5) and 18th Edition qualification.

- NVQ Level 3 qualification and excellent fault-finding skills.

- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel and work away when required.

- Experience in the manufacturing and industrial sectors is essential, and knowledge of thermal imaging test equipment would be advantageous.
