The Company

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

We are currently recruiting for a CMM Programmer/Inspector within the Machining-Quality Department. After initial training this role will be working a Double Day Shift pattern in the Inspection Room. 

The role

  • Program & operate our Zeiss Prismo CMM inspection machines.
  • Complete independent Diametric & Geometric checks on both WIP & finished parts using the Zeiss CMM machines in the inspection room.
  • Communicate any discrepancies with operators & team leaders.
  • Recheck adjusted work for compliance to drawing & SOP requirements.
  • Read & interpret Zeiss Calypso results & relate to machining activities.
  • Collate data to liaise & aid in improvement activities with Machining Process Engineers.

The person

  • Quality & productivity focused, confident, flexible & highly motivated.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Adept in Problem Solving.
  • Good skills in mathematics, specifically trigonometry.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of operating CMM machines.
  • Have an understanding in how to navigate Windchill or similar PLM systems.
  • Understand & can interpret engineering drawings.

Desirable Criteria

  • Program CMM's from drawings on 3D models.
  • Have HNC or similar engineering qualification.
