Head of Supply Chain & Procurement
Shape the supply chain. Influence the strategy. Help scale a high-growth technology business.
Location: Multi-site / Remote
Reporting to: Executive Leadership Team
Sector: Electronics Manufacturing / EMS
Exceptional salary and package
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional Head of Supply Chain role.
We are looking for a senior supply chain and procurement leader who can help shape the next phase of growth for a fast-moving, high-growth electronics manufacturing business operating across multiple sites.
With more than 300 employees, a complex international supply base and an increasingly ambitious growth strategy, the business is at an exciting point in its evolution. The supply chain is becoming a genuine source of competitive advantage, and this role will have the influence and autonomy to make that happen.
We are looking for someone who can operate comfortably at Board and C-suite level, while retaining the commercial curiosity and operational grip to understand what is really happening across the supply chain.
This could suit an experienced Supply Chain Director, Procurement Director, VP Supply Chain, CPO, COO, or senior Head of Supply Chain who is ready to take significant ownership of a multi-site operation and play a central role in the company's continued growth.
What you'll be doing
You will take strategic ownership of the end-to-end supply chain, spanning:
- Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Demand Planning & S&OP
- Materials & Inventory Management
- Production Planning
- Logistics & Distribution
- Supply Chain Risk & Business Continuity
- Cost, Performance & Continuous Improvement
Your challenge will be to build a supply chain that is scalable, resilient, commercially intelligent, and capable of supporting rapid growth.
That means looking beyond simply buying materials or keeping production moving. You'll be expected to challenge the status quo, identify opportunities, build stronger supplier partnerships, and introduce the processes, systems and disciplines required to support a much larger business.
Strategic Leadership
You will develop and execute the Group's supply chain strategy, ensuring it supports commercial objectives, customer expectations, and operational growth.
You'll work closely with the senior leadership team, engineering, manufacturing, finance, and commercial functions to ensure supply chain considerations are embedded into business decisions rather than addressed afterwards.
You'll also lead, develop, and empower teams across procurement, planning, and logistics, creating a culture that is commercially focused, data-driven, and relentlessly customer-oriented.
Procurement & Supplier Strategy
Electronics manufacturing brings its own unique supply chain challenges.
You'll oversee global sourcing across areas such as semiconductors, PCBs, passive components, and other electronic and engineered components, developing a supplier ecosystem capable of supporting both current operations and future growth.
You'll be expected to:
- Develop strategic supplier relationships and partnerships
- Negotiate commercial agreements and improve purchasing leverage
- Identify and develop new sources of supply
- Reduce exposure to shortages, obsolescence, and price volatility
- Improve supplier performance, resilience, and responsiveness
- Build a proactive approach to supply chain risk
Demand, Planning & S&OP
You will own and evolve the S&OP / demand planning process, bringing together customer demand, sales forecasts, production capacity, and material availability.
The objective is simple: give the business greater visibility, better decision-making, and the confidence to grow.
You'll work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to improve forecasting, manage changing demand, and protect delivery performance.
Inventory & Materials
Inventory is both an asset and a risk.
You'll be responsible for creating the right balance between customer service, working capital and operational resilience.
This includes improving MRP effectiveness, inventory turns and material availability while actively managing excess, obsolete and slow-moving stock.
Logistics & Operational Performance
You'll oversee inbound and outbound logistics across the group's sites and international supply chain, ensuring the movement of materials and finished products is efficient, reliable and commercially optimised.
You'll have accountability for areas including:
- Global freight and transportation
- 3PL relationships
- Delivery performance
- Freight cost optimisation
- Material flow between sites
- OTIF and customer service performance
Risk, Resilience & Compliance
Global electronics supply chains can change quickly.
You'll develop a robust approach to identifying and mitigating supply chain risks across suppliers, geopolitics, regulation, logistics and component availability.
You will establish appropriate contingency and business continuity strategies while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including ISO, RoHS, and REACH.
What will make you successful?
We're less interested in someone who has simply followed a well-established supply chain playbook.
We're looking for a builder, challenger, and leader.
You'll ideally bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience across supply chain and/or procurement
- Experience operating at Director, VP, CPO, COO, or senior Head of function level
- A strong understanding of complex manufacturing supply chains
- Experience within electronics, EMS, technology, industrial manufacturing or another complex BOM environment is essential
- International sourcing and supplier management experience
- Strong commercial and negotiation capability
- Experience implementing or developing S&OP
- A track record of improving working capital, inventory, and supplier performance
- Experience leading multi-site teams or operations
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP environments and supply chain data
- The ability to influence at Board level and engage effectively across an organisation
Most importantly, you'll be someone who sees the bigger picture but isn't afraid to get into the detail.
Why this role?
Because the opportunity goes well beyond managing an existing supply chain.
This is an opportunity to shape one.
The business is growing, moving quickly, and evolving through organic growth and acquisition. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the organisation sources, plans, buys, manufactures and delivers as it moves into its next stage of development.
You'll have genuine visibility with senior leadership, the freedom to challenge existing thinking and the opportunity to build a supply chain capability that can support the next chapter of the business.
The role is multi-site, so we're open to candidates who are comfortable working remotely and travelling between sites as required.
If you're an experienced supply chain or procurement leader who enjoys growth, transformation, complexity and having a genuine impact, this could be a particularly interesting next move. If you're ready to move beyond simply managing supply chain and want to help define what great looks like, we'd like to hear from you.
