Introduction:
We are seeking a motivated and organised Purchasing and Operations Assistant to join our clients dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining efficient operational processes, contributing to the overall success of the company.
The role is working 32 hours per week over 4 or 5 days but must include a Friday.
Normal office hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-4pm Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raise purchase orders for raw materials based on the bill of materials for each project, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained
- Liaise with relationship managers to coordinate the timely delivery of purchased items
- Generate new work orders based on project quotes and manage the delivery and installation schedule
- Prepare delivery notes and create driver job lists to facilitate smooth logistics
- Assist with booking accommodation for installation teams on overnight assignments
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to purchasing and operations
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment
- Demonstrable experience in a similar purchasing or operations role, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as Sage 50, would be an advantage

Shift: Night Shift - Sun - Fri, 37.5 hours 10pm - 6am
What You Will Do:
- Operate Punch Press machines with precision, ensuring high-quality output.
- Load and unload parts efficiently while adhering to production schedules.
- Conduct quality inspections using equipment and gauges to meet ISO standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to maintain accuracy in production.
- Maintain and clean equipment, keeping the workspace organised and safe.

- Previous experience operating Punch Press machines, with Amada machines being a plus.
