Layout Integration BIM Lead Engineer - 37495797 - £28.54/hr (Umbrella Rate - Inside IR35)
Location: Whitley, Coventry
Position Description
The role is for the Design Integration, Layout Integration BIM Lead Engineer for Global Manufacturing Engineering, responsible for rolling out and leading Layout Integration and BIM methodology from concept to the delivery phase to JOB1 + 90 days.

- Efficiency: Model coordination reviews completed to programme schedule.
- Timing: L1-L5 reviews completed to gateway timing.
- Delivery: BIM deliverables issued in accordance with programme requirements. Digital asset information maintained within CDE requirements
- People: Pulse and attendance targets achieved. Continuous professional development and digital capability objectives achieved.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
The Design Integration, Layout System Integration Engineer is responsible for supporting the delivery of BIM-enabled facility integration activities from concept through to project completion (JOB1 + 90), ensuring compliance with defined standards, processes, and digital engineering methodologies across GME programmes. They will also be responsible for aspects of BIM development through time.
- Experience of federated model coordination, design review and clash detection processes.
- Support implementation of Common Data Environment (CDE), digital asset management and digital twin information management processes within projects.
- Support the application of BIM methodology and Layout System Integration processes across GME projects
- Apply BIM standards within Facilities design and delivery activities
- Support integration activities across programme delivery, construction, and digital estates functions
- Support L1-L5 Layout System Integration reviews and buy-off activities
- Deliver project outputs in line with programme timing and gateway requirements
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews to support integration readiness and design assurance
- Utilise approved Layout Integration Standard tool sets to develop and coordinate facility layouts
- Follow established digital work flows and interoperability requirements across project teams
- Develop and maintain 4D simulation models and digital rehearsals to support installation planning, logistics reviews, stakeholder engagement, and programme delivery activities
- Undertake reality capture and Scan-to-BIM activities including LiDAR scanning, point cloud processing, model validation using Navisworks, Revit and Verity
- As-built verification and digital record updates
- Contribute to lessons learned activities and continuous improvement of standards and processes
- Develop competence in: BIM work flows, Digital engineering tools, Layout System Integration methodologies
- Support wider business priorities as directed by line management
- Maintain compliance with standards, health and safety requirements, and governance processes

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience using BIM, CAD and digital engineering tool sets relevant to facility and manufacturing design.
- Experience working with 3D models, design coordination, federated model reviews and layout development within a project environment.
- Experience supporting the delivery of projects to programme timing, quality and cost targets.
- Experience of production process flow analysis and problem solving within complex technical environments.
- Understanding of BIM methodologies, model information requirements, Common Data Environment (CDE) principles and digital engineering work flows.
- Experience of digital document, asset management and revision-controlled environments.
- Experience supporting the deployment, adoption and continuous improvement of emerging digital engineering technologies, BIM methodologies and innovative ways of working to improve project delivery, engineering efficiency, data quality and digital capability across GME programmes.
- Experience of multidisciplinary design coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working within manufacturing, industrial or production environments.

Education
- Degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Digital Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

As a Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for carrying out fitting and fabrication work on various heavy machinery encompassing Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems.
Whilst the role is predominantly on the tools working as a Mechanical Fitter, you MUST be able to fabricate, and occasional MIG welding work will also be required.
What You Will Do:
- Carry out fitting and fabrication duties using engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM) and clear instructions.
- Maintain, fault-diagnose, dismantle, repair, assemble and test machinery to a high degree of accuracy and quality.
- Complete fabrication and welding operations, including pipe bending where required.
