Wheel Designer - Permanent or Contract (Outside IR35) position.

A Wheel Designer is required to join a truly remarkable company who is an exclusive and prestigious luxury vehicle modifier for the UK and global markets.  The Wheel Designer will be joining an established Design Team and will be working on several fantastic new exciting projects for exclusive brands.  The company is a true end to end UK manufacturer ‘one of a kind’ in the aftermarket sector with a design focus that has always been 'OEM Plus' appealing to a customer base looking to achieve a little more individuality with their vehicle with premium components, while remaining respectful to the original designs of the manufacturer.

Our client is looking for an experienced Wheel Designer to work on high-end bespoke alloy wheel projects, to support the design, development and production delivery of their bespoke alloy wheels.  Working closely with the Design and Manufacturing teams, you will be responsible for creating production-ready CAD models for alloy wheels, ensuring they meet aesthetic intent, structural requirements and manufacturing constraints.  This role requires a strong understanding of wheel construction, manufacturing processes and tolerancing, with the ability to translate design surfaces and concepts into manufacturable 3D models.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role from within automotive, wheel design or high-end product development
  • Proven experience designing and modelling alloy, cast or forged wheels
  • Knowledge of wheel standards and testing requirements
  • Experience with interpreting 2D sketches, Alias surface data, and engineering requirements into manufacturable CAD along with Alias surface modelling
  • Solid understanding of wheel manufacturing processes along with finishing and coating methods
  • Understanding of tolerancing and mechanical constraints
  • Team player with good communication skills and able to work under tight time constraints on multi projects at any one time
  • There would also be the opportunity to contribute to other vehicle components as necessary

This role can be available as a Contract (Outside IR35) or Permanent position, full time onsite at their magnificent modern offices in Milton Keynes.

Have you previously worked within the Defence or Off-Highway sector, and do you have any experience repairing and maintaining military vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, coaches or similar vehicles, and are you seeking a new permanent job opportunity?!

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Technician with the above skill set to join a leading re-manufacturing business in Coventry, this role is working day shifts (8.00am - 16.30pm) Monday to Friday, and is paying a salary up to £35,000 per annum (DOE).

This role would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Maintenance Fitter, Vehicle Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Fitter, LGV Fitter, LGV Technician, Plant Fitter or Plant Technician.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct diagnostic testing, servicing, and repairs on heavy plant and defence-related equipment.
  • Assess the overall condition of products and strip units following work instructions.
  • Evaluate individual components to ensure they meet required standards and commercial viability.
  • Build and test products to original equipment specifications, adhering to manufacturer instructions and company guidelines.
  • Accurately complete job cards, production tracking sheets, and QHSE documentation.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship while adhering to company procedures, including health and safety standards.

What You Will Bring:

  • Previous experience with diagnostic testing, servicing and repairs on heavy plant and defence related equipment including Engines, Transmissions, Transfer Gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic components
  • Proven experience in repair and maintenance of military vehicles or similar equipment.
  • Expertise in engine and transmission strip and build processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Knowledge of QHSE legislation.

  • A keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure.
  • A valid driving licence and a commitment to adhering to QHSE legislation and company policies.

The new Alias Modeller / Designer will be joining an established Design Team and will be working on a number of fantastic new exciting projects for exclusive brands.

Our client is a true end to end UK manufacturer 'one of a kind' in the aftermarket sector, building customer vehicles each month alongside servicing their global dealer network with products they manufacture.  Unlike some aftermarket modifiers, their design focus has always been 'OEM Plus' appealing to a customer base looking to achieve a little more individuality with their vehicle with premium components, while remaining respectful to the original designs of the manufacturer.

As an experienced Automotive Alias Modeller / Designer, you will have previous extensive experience in a similar role working with high end brands, along with;

  • Understand existing design language, carrying through to new models whilst innovating and presenting new design ideas
  • Must be able to deliver end to end solutions - From idea, sketch model, to completed component in Alias
  • Deliver A Surface Design and consider B Surface fixing solutions (for hand over to tooling design engineers)
  • Understanding of the tooling process.

This is a rolling contract role, which is OUTSIDE IR35.  Permanent role may also be available.

Working full time onsite at their modern offices in Milton Keynes.
