Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

I am seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an established automotive engineering company. This is a Permanent role.
They are part of a growing successful business operating in the supply of proprietary systems and components to the world's construction equipment, truck, agricultural machinery and industrial applications end-markets. The company has a global manufacturing presence including in the USA, Germany, UK, Sweden, India and China.
What You Will Do:
As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer;
- To assist in the design of a range of engine ancillaries including oil, water & fuel pumps
- Concept and detailed design of e-Pumps for Data centre applications.
- Ability to work from 1 st principals in concept design work utilising problem solving skills
- Work alongside engineering team to ensure design is optimised for manufacture
- To liaise with design team & Chief Engineer to resolve design issues.
- Create CAD models & layout of engineering drawings
- To create engineering reports
- Liaison with customers, internal departments and external suppliers.
- Excellent knowledge in GD&T's
- Experience in DFMEA and DFM
What You Will Need:
As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer;
- Degree qualified Engineer with a minimum of 5years industry experience
- Proven ability in one of the leading 3D CAD modelling packages, ideally Creo
- Experience of designing with both metals and plastic materials
- Good experience in working with Electro mechanical products.
- Knowledge/experience in concept design work
- Knowledge of rotating components such as bearings, seals, gears, pulleys would be advantageous.

This is a mobile position covering the Sheffield region, focused on installation, service and maintenance of vehicle safety and telematics systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Overview
- We’re looking for a Hydraulic Test & Development Engineer to lead testing and validation of complex fluid power systems used in industrial waste processing equipment.
- This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll design and run hydraulic test programmes, work closely with design teams, and directly influence product performance, safety, and reliability in a regulated environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and execute hydraulic testing including pressure, flow, endurance, leak, and functional testing

- Analyse test data, identify trends, and deliver clear engineering recommendations
- Write test procedures, test plans, and technical reports
- Support design reviews, FMEA, and verification & validation activities

Duties & Responsibilities:
- You’ll be at the heart of project delivery, taking designs from concept through to completion:

- Create 2D and 3D designs using industry-leading tools, including CAD and BIM (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Design and coordinate key building systems such as:

- Conduct site visits including surveys, inspections, and progress reviews, producing clear and professional reports.
- Prepare cost estimates, tender documentation, and review contractor submissions and variations.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation, company QA processes, and industry best practice.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully coordinated designs.
- Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with new technologies and maintaining continuous professional development (CPD).

Telford facility building material handling equipment. This is a hands-on role offering variety,
responsibility, and the opportunity to work on hydraulics and machinery from build through to

As Mechanical Fitter, duties will include:
You will be responsible for the assembly, setting, and testing of machines, working
from engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics to deliver a high-quality end product.
• Mechanical fitting and assembly from drawings
• Installation of hydraulic components and pipework
• Machine setting, testing, and fault finding
• Use of hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
• Working to tight schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards
