This Project Engineer position offers the chance to lead a live robotic case packing engineering project, coordinate specialist design work, and help drive efficient progress from planning through testing and sign-off. With an onsite focus at the machine supplier premises in Havant, Hampshire, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys turning complex technical plans into confident, customer-ready results.
What You Will Do:
- Manage and execute an ongoing robotic case packing engineering project onsite as the priority from the customer perspective.
- Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, and PLC designers, keeping schedules clear, workload balanced, and slippage identified early.
- Support technical queries and drive timely issue resolution, ensuring remedial actions are agreed within three days of identification.
- Obtain quotes, place orders, track manufacturing progress at sub-suppliers, and manage parts on arrival including segregation, storage, and identification.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering timelines, budgets, and resource allocation as the project progresses.
- Lead project status review meetings with the client and report progress twice weekly, including FAT and SAT testing, sign-off, and documentation.
What You Will Bring:
- Demonstrable Project Engineering experience, ideally within machine manufacturing or a closely related industrial engineering environment.
- Strong planning and coordination skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and keep stakeholders aligned.
- Comfortable working with Mechanical, Electrical, and PLC design teams, translating technical discussions into practical actions and schedules.
- Experience supporting testing activities such as FAT and SAT, including preparation of clear documentation and sign-off evidence.
- The ability to communicate progress confidently, escalate issues promptly, and maintain a quality-focused mindset.
This Project Engineer role plays a key part in delivering high-quality engineering outcomes for production-focused environments, supporting reliable end-user operation and ensuring projects land successfully from suppliers to site. The emphasis on prompt escalation, transparent reporting, and clear resolution helps uphold high standards in project delivery and operational quality.
Location:
