NEW JOB VACANCY - NPI ENGINEER

Are you an experienced NPI Engineer (New Product Introduction) Engineer seeking a new job within the West Midlands?!

This is working a day shift pattern Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), and the role comes with an annual salary up to £45,000 per annum (DOE).

The hiring manager would prefer someone who has come from a foundry / castings / ductile iron background, however, anyone who has come from a heavy engineering / heavy manufacturing background would also be well received.

This would be a good opportunity for someone who has experience in the application of quality tools essential to New Production Introduction - DFMEA, PFMEA , Control Plans and process/quality auditing, as well as being competent with Microsoft Office packages.

Discover a role where quality, continuous improvement, and real customer impact come together. If you thrive on problem-solving, enjoy turning detail into progress, and want to help shape successful product introductions, this NPI Engineer role is an excellent next step. As an NPI Engineer, you'll support new product introduction through practical quality planning, data-driven improvement, and smooth cross-functional coordination across manufacturing and customer-facing requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage quality activities across NPI and prototype manufacture, helping ensure right-first-time delivery.
  • Coordinate action plans and cross-department activity, including clear weekly status updates and pre-production kick-offs.
  • Support quality operations such as PPAP, APQP and equivalent, ensuring documentation and check points are followed and recorded.
  • Coordinate sample processes from start to finish, working closely with tooling engineers, external suppliers, and pattern-shops.
  • Drive continuous improvement, including yield, scrap reduction, and reduction of non-value-added work in the manufacturing process.
  • Produce timely reporting for management, including defects per month, Pareto analysis of key issues, and improvement timing plans.

What You Will Bring:

  • Confidence in using Excel and Word for reporting, tracking actions, and maintaining clear records.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with quality planning and audit-based ways of working (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and process/quality auditing would be a strong advantage).
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and customer representatives.
  • Strong organisation skills for managing tasks, check points, and cross-functional coordination across multiple workstreams.
  • Practical interest in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement tools, and methods that strengthen operational performance.

This NPI Engineer role directly supports the company's focus on progressive manufacturing, customer service, and quality assurance. By embedding a right-first-time culture and strengthening the quality and efficiency of new product introduction, the work helps improve outcomes for OEM customers and supports long-term, trust-building partnerships through transparent reporting and dependable delivery.

Location:

This NPI Engineer position is based in Stourbridge (West Midlands).
