Logistics Team Leader

Logistics Team Leader- Telford, Shropshire 

We are looking for a experienced Logistics Team Leader/Warehouse team leader/logistics supervisor/warehouse supervisor/senior warehouse leader or warehouse shift lead to join a long standing food production business in Telford, Shropshire, previous experience within the food manufacturing, food packaging, FMCG, pharmaceutical or packaging sector would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.

We are looking for someone who lives within a 25 mile radius of Telford, Shropshire, this role will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12 hour days and nights shifts), the starting salary is just over £35,115 per annum, initially rising to £40,000 per annum once fully signed off and trained.

This will be a 2 stage interview process, with the first stage consisting of a numeracy and literacy assessment on site in Telford, Shropshire.

To be considered for this role you must hold a counterbalance and / or reach forklift license that has been taken within the last 5 years (in house or external forklift license will be accepted).

What You Will Do:

• Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment, exceeding established performance targets.
• Train and onboard new team members, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organised warehouse environment, adhering to safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety.
• Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.

 What You Will Bring:

• Proven leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a confident approach to team engagement.
• Proficiency in using IT equipment and systems, alongside a good level of numeracy.
• Forklift certification and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in warehouse operations.
• Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment, preferably within food-based manufacturing, is advantageous.
