Are you a hands-on Quality professional with experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment?

We’re recruiting for a Quality Assurance Team Leader to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, continuous improvement, and employee development.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the shop floor, leading by example, and driving high standards across production and quality operations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products meet customer and regulatory requirements while supporting and developing a small quality team.

The Role

As Quality Assurance Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day quality activities across manufacturing operations, ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved while promoting a proactive quality culture throughout the business.

This is a leadership-focused role that combines hands-on quality assurance with team supervision, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small Quality team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Drive a strong quality-first culture across production operations
• Carry out and oversee quality inspections, audits, and testing activities
• Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and production quality issues using root cause analysis techniques
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and reduce repeat issues
• Work closely with production teams to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes
• Monitor quality KPIs, trends, and production data to identify improvement opportunities
• Ensure compliance with ISO9001 quality management systems and internal procedures
• Support incoming goods inspection and supplier quality activities
• Deliver coaching, guidance, and quality training to production and inspection teams
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, defects, and rework
• Maintain accurate quality documentation and inspection records

About You

We’re looking for a proactive and approachable Quality professional who is comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on involvement on the production floor.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Quality Engineer, or Quality Team Leader role within manufacturing or production
• Experience supervising or leading a small team in a factory, engineering, or production environment
• Strong understanding of ISO9001 quality management systems
• Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methods
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A practical, organised, and detail-focused approach
• Confidence working cross-functionally with production, engineering, and operations teams
