Assembly Operative – Manufacturing
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assembly Operative to join a well-established, industry-leading manufacturer with over 90 years of engineering excellence. Renowned for producing high‑strength, lightweight and fatigue‑resistant composite products, the company operates at the cutting edge of advanced manufacturing and production. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on background who thrives in a fast‑paced factory environment and takes pride in producing high‑quality components.
The Role
As an Assembly Operative, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day production and assembly process, supporting the manufacture of precision composite components. Working to detailed work instructions, you will contribute to safe, efficient and high‑quality output across multiple production stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and finish composite components in line with production schedules and quality standards.
- Prepare, handle and load raw materials and components for use within the production process.
- Place cut materials and sub‑components into tooling, moulds and fixtures accurately and consistently.
- Operate manufacturing equipment such as presses, ovens and autoclaves following standard operating procedures.
- Carry out basic finishing, trimming and assembly tasks to meet specification requirements.
- Pack, label and prepare finished products for dispatch.
- Complete production records, check sheets and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area in line with health and safety requirements.
- Work closely with team members, supervisors and production leads to meet output targets.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in assembly, production or manufacturing is highly desirable.
- A practical, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written instructions, drawings and standard processes.
- Comfortable working in a team-based manufacturing environment.
- Good time management and the ability to meet production deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different assembly tasks.
- Experience with composite materials or high‑precision manufacturing would be an advantage, but is not essential.
The Company & Environment
You’ll be joining a manufacturer that supplies critical components across defence, aerospace, transport, medical and energy sectors, producing advanced composite solutions that significantly reduce weight without compromising strength or durability. The Assembly Operative role is central to maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and reliability.
Location
This role is based at a modern, well‑equipped manufacturing facility in Coventry, supporting large‑scale production and advanced assembly operations.
Why Apply?
This is more than just an assembly role – it’s a chance to build long‑term skills within a respected manufacturing business that values quality, teamwork and continuous improvement. If you enjoy hands‑on production work and want to be part of a company shaping the future of advanced manufacturing, we’d love to hear from you.
