Production Technician

Location: Telford
Salary: Starting salary of £35,115 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – 12-hour rotating shifts (Days & Nights, including weekends)

Are you passionate about machinery? Do you thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment where you can take ownership of a production line, solve problems on the spot, and keep world‑class equipment running at its best?

If you’re a hands‑on technician with a sharp eye for detail and a drive to make an impact, this is your chance to join a forward-thinking production team in Telford.

This role would be a great fit for someone who has worked as a Production Technician, Process Technician, Line Technician, Machine Setter, Machine Operator (Technical Level), Production Operative (Technical), Packaging Technician, FMCG Technician, or Maintenance Operative within a production environment.

Please note: This is a 2-stage interview process, with the first stage consisting of a numeracy and literacy assessment on site in Telford, Shropshire.

Company Benefits:

  • Salary: £35,115 rising to £43,486 once key competency levels are achieved.
  • Benefits: Health Cash Plan, tech schemes, life assurance, health cover and more.
  • Holiday: 5 weeks + 8 bank holidays (after year 1) with holiday pay based on average hours.
  • Auto-enrolment pension.
  • A long-term career with a rapidly growing, technology-led manufacturer.

The role:

  • Working with state‑of‑the‑art, fully automated, cutting‑edge machinery – technology that’s unparalleled in the industry.
  • Leading your own line: training operators, driving performance, and ensuring your line runs efficiently and smoothly.
  • Owning continuous improvement: supporting process refinements, boosting productivity, and feeding into development teams to uplift standards.
  • Staying hands-on: spotting early signs of faults, investigating issues, problem-solving, and preventing downtime.
  • Ensuring full Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Running lines to SOPs including start‑ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.

What We’re Looking for:

  • A technically minded individual who loves working with machinery and solving problems.
  • A flexible, enthusiastic team player who performs well under pressure.
  • Someone eager to learn new technologies, embrace continuous improvement, and support lean manufacturing.
  • A confident communicator who listens well, gives clear instructions, and isn’t afraid to challenge or seek expert support.
  • Experience in food, FMCG, or processing environments is ideal — but not essential.

If you’ve worked as a Production Technician, Process Technician, Line Technician, Machine Setter, Machine Operator (Technical Level), Production Operative (Technical), Packaging Technician, FMCG Technician, or Maintenance Operative within a production environment. If you’re used to running lines, solving machinery issues, and driving performance on fast‑moving equipment, you’ll thrive in this position.
