Account Executive – Farming/Livestock or Commercial Insurance
Location: Shrewsbury
Salary: Up to £35,000 PA + Benefits

A long-established insurance brokerage based in Shrewsbury is seeking a skilled Account Executive to join their close-knit team. Thiese roles allow you to specialise in either Farming/Livestock or Commercial Insurance, depending on your background and expertise.

This position suits someone with solid experience in client servicing, who values traditional methods, strong client relationships, and a steady, manual-process-led environment. You'll handle your own portfolio, manage renewals, support new business, and maintain high service standards in line with FCA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own book of business in either the farming/livestock or commercial sector

• Build and maintain long-standing client relationships through professional, personal service

• Handle renewals, mid-term adjustments, new enquiries, and day-to-day client queries

• Present suitable cover options and negotiate terms with insurers

• Attend client meetings, market days (for farming), or site visits as appropriate

• Maintain accurate records using both manual files and internal systems

• Assist with claims support and liaise with insurers or loss adjusters as required

• Identify and act on cross-selling and referral opportunities

• Ensure all client interactions are compliant with FCA guidelines and internal procedures

• Prioritise work effectively and follow up on all diary actions in a timely manner

• Contribute to business objectives, including retention, growth, and service quality

Requirements

• Proven experience in either farming/livestock or commercial insurance

• Strong technical knowledge and ability to assess risk appropriately

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Familiarity with FCA compliance, TCF principles, and regulatory requirements

• Confident working with manual documentation and internal systems (e.g. Acturis, SSP, MS Office)

• Organised and methodical, with good attention to detail

• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team environment
