A large food manufacturer are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer. Working 4 on 4 off days & nights 

Salary £45,000 to £50,500 plus Benefits & Overtime. 

 

What You Will Do:

- Optimise machinery output and product quality while minimising plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance and efficient breakdown response.

- Take a lead role during breakdowns, using your skills and experience to ensure swift resolutions.

- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in line with schedules, taking corrective action as needed.

- Communicate breakdowns effectively to the Engineering Shift Manager and collaborate with operations to minimise disruption.

- Promote good engineering practices and maintain high hygiene standards across the site.

- Identify root causes of issues and suggest improvements to prevent future breakdowns.

 

What You Will Bring:

- Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines (BTEC & NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND).

- Proven engineering experience, working within a manufacturing environment.

- Strong mechanical fitting skills and the ability to fault-find on process machinery.

- A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- A passion for engineering and continuous improvement, with a commitment to achieving excellence.

We are seeking an organised and assertive Line Planner to take ownership of the production plan for a dedicated machine line. As the key representative for your product group, you will be responsible for ensuring the assembly line operates efficiently on time, and in line with customer expectations. You'll work cross-functionally to manage change, coordinate activities, and drive continuous improvement.

This role reports directly to the Production Control Manager.

Job Description

 Own the A-line plan for your machine line, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and delivery targets.

Represent your product group in daily meetings such as; MOD meeting, New Option meeting, morning production meeting & Pre-firm check meeting.

Coordinate activities within the product group to support smooth and efficient production flow.

Manage expectations for new options to ensure minimal disruption and maximum efficiency during introduction to the assembly process.

Lead modifications that impact your product group with the goal of improving line efficiency and output.

Act as the first point of contact for facilitating communication around open slots, sequence approvals, and delivery confirmations.

Confirm material availability following specification or sequence changes and inform the Planning Manager of any risks.

Resolve preferential origin issues that could impact the build or export process.

Approve and communicate sequence changes, escalating to the Planning Manager when required.

Ensure customer delivery dates are achievable and upheld through continuous plan monitoring and risk mitigation.

Support and validate option costing, providing accurate and timely input to ensure commercial and production alignment.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

 Strong communication and coordination skills

Advanced IT Skills and the ability to interpret and analyse data effectively.

High level of ownership and accountability, with the confidence to make and drive decisions.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.

Strong planning and organisational skills.

Understanding of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft AX).

Demonstrated understanding of the importance of the integration between the physical world and the ERP system.

Desirable Criteria

 Experience with engineering change management, modification control, or new product introduction.

Familiarity with preferential origin rules and how they impact production/export.

Experience in a customer-facing or sales coordination environment.

Background in a manufacturing or assembly environment with knowledge of shop floor operations.

Knowledge of material planning principles & production structures.

What You'll Do

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Source materials and services that meet demanding standards for quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Manage international sourcing challenges-think global supply chains, MOQs, and logistics complexities.

Cost & Commercial Management

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and benchmark pricing across categories.

Materials & Stock Control

  • Maintain accurate stock levels to keep production moving-no delays, no excess.

  • Work closely with Stores and Production to keep ERP data accurate and live.

Compliance & Systems

  • Ensure all procurement activity aligns with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Prepare RFQs, evaluate competitive quotes, and support continuous ERP improvement.
  • Report on supplier performance and support finance with invoice queries and reconciliation's.

Logistics & International Trade

  • Coordinate shipments with the Import Team and global freight partners.
  • Manage shipping documentation, schedules, and Incoterms compliance.
  • Contribute to logistics reviews and drive performance across the supply chain.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, production, and finance teams to align purchasing with business goals.
  • Represent procurement in meetings and projects that shape the company's strategic direction.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years' experience in procurement or buying, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
  • A CIPS qualification (or working towards it).
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience managing international supply chains and long lead times.
  • Confident with ERP systems and data-driven decision making.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14001 processes.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset.

Job Description

The Role

The role of the Purchase Ledger Invoice Clerk is to action the three-way matching process. This provides vital financial control by verifying that a supplier's invoice matches with the company's purchase order (PO) and goods received note (GRN) before passing to accounts payable for payment processing.

Key Responsibilities

Invoice Processing:

  • Match the invoices received electronically from suppliers to the goods received note (GRN) and purchase order (PO) raised internally. This is done using our inhouse bespoke software and can be in any major currency.
  • Ensuring invoices waiting to be matched are kept to a minimum.

Discrepancy Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during the three-way matching process such as mismatched quantities or pricing errors.
  • Communicate with the purchasing and receiving departments, as well as external vendors, to resolve issues promptly.
  • Place invoices on hold until discrepancies are fully resolved.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain digital files of all invoices, POs and GRNs to ensure a clear audit trail.
  • Generate weekly report showing invoices outstanding across the business.
  • Assist with managers, auditors when needed

Person Specification

Although full training will be given to the successful candidate the following would be advantageous:

  • Experience / knowledge: Prior knowledge of purchase ledger and or three-way matching process.
  • Communication: The ability to communicate with effectively with colleagues.
  • Organisation skills: Strong organisational and time management skills to handle a high volume of transactions and meet deadlines.
  • The role is 4 days / 30hrs per week.
