An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join a market-leading engineering business developing advanced transmission control systems for off-highway vehicles.
We're keen to speak with both Senior and Principal level engineers, with the role and package tailored to your experience.
The Role
You'll join a collaborative Electronics & Controls team, developing embedded software for transmission control systems and supporting products from concept through to validation. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing embedded software in C.
- Producing high and low-level software designs from functional requirements.
- Working within a structured V-model software development process.
- Supporting verification and validation activities, including automated testing.
- Carrying out code reviews and ensuring compliance with software quality and functional safety standards.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
About You - We're looking for engineers with:
- Proven experience developing embedded software in C (C++ also beneficial).
- Experience working on embedded control systems.
- Knowledge of functional safety and relevant ISO standards.
- Experience following structured software development processes.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within engineering teams.
Desirable Experience
- AUTOSAR (DaVinci, ISOLAR, tresos)
- Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape)
- Python scripting for test automation
- MATLAB/Simulink
- Static code analysis and software metrics

As a Senior NPI Quality Engineer you will have:
- Proven, hands-on experience delivering the full APQP/PPAP lifecycle in a manufacturing or innovation-driven, regulated environment, ideally within medical devices or automotive.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and controls within the manufacturing of PCBA/electronics and associated components.
- High proficiency in APQP tools and methods such as D/PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, DMAIC and CAPA, with a confident approach to auditing.
- A background in supporting the design, development and manufacturing of electronic products working closely with engineering teams in the upfront phases of R&D, NPD and NPI.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarise complex information and challenge issues constructively.
- A relevant engineering or quality qualification, such as a degree/HND/HNC in Electronic/Mechanical/Production Engineering or Quality Management, with Six Sigma certification a valuable advantage.

Do you have previous powder coating / powder coater experience within the sheet metal industry, and are you looking for a permanent job to start ASAP?!
We are proud to be working with a sheet metal fabrication business in Stevenage who are looking for an experienced Powder Coater to join their team.
The standard working hours are 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), with overtime opportunities available which are paid at T1/2, the annual salary will be up to £31,500 per annum (hourly rate up to £15.00 per hour) DOE.
The majority of this role will be powder coating, but you must be prepared to help with other duties on the shop floor as or when required.
The hiring manager is ideally looking for someone who has around 2 years experience (if not more) in a similar role.
