Quality Manager
In support of a PE-backed, UK-headquartered, fast-growth, global, precision pressing and stamping manufacturer and distributor, we are seeking a new Quality Manager to continue the business’s focus on process, product and auditable quality across a variety of sectors including automotive, medical and industrial. You will need to have detailed exposure of working with IATF16949 as well as ISO14001.
Based in Kingswinford, your job purpose is the management and responsibility for the Quality function and Quality Management System, ensuring that processes and manufactured products fully comply with and exceed customer expectations and all relevant certification bodies. This is an urgent requirement.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Internal Quality responsibilities
- Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance.
- Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies (IATF16949,ISO9000 and ISO13485)
- Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
- Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.
- Establish and refine quality sign-off instructions, standards and documentation
- Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a safety first, environmentally aware and continuous improvement culture
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
- Report against agreed quality metrics monthly
- Review, implement and update company records e.g. training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
- Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the Company, in relation to Quality matters
- Provide technical expertise to the team
- Supplier Quality responsibilities
- Manage the audit program as well as supplier development and improvement
- Review and improve new and existing suppliers in line with company procedures and requirements
- Management and approval of supplier PPAP and supplier changes.
- Review supplier non-conformances and work with suppliers to close out issues (8D, 5 Why)
- Liaise with customers regarding supply of defective material
- Customer Quality responsibilities
- Review and respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, as well as implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures
- Lead improvement / corrective action processes in responses to customer concerns.

Education / Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Competancies:
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC
- Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
- Membership of an industry related professional body would be advantageous
- Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
- Experience of IATF16949 standard (essential)
- Experience of ISO 13485 (if possible)
- Experience required:
- Significant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
- Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
- Simultaneously managing multi projects
- Developing excellent customer relationships
- 8D root cause analysis
