Sales Director - EMS
Our client is a scaling, private equity-backed group targeting further significant growth across their multi-site locations which manufactures, assembles and supplies EMS, Electronics, Cables and PCB products to a range of industries. To support their continued successful growth, they are seeking a NEW Sales Director who will be responsible for leading and delivering the Group's expansion further, specifically into the UK and European aerospace and defence sectors.
Based on their existing UK manufacturing capabilities and activity in these sectors, the role will carry full accountability for growth in these arenas with a particular focus on EMS - Electronic Manufacturing Services. This role will include commercial sales leadership, pipeline development, forecasting discipline, performance management and execution of a strategic and practical growth plan.
Having a full understanding of EMS and the opportunities within aerospace and defence, the Sales Director will:
- Provide the organisation with a strategic plan to expand on existing relationships as well identify and target new
- Actively promote the company to generate sales growth
- Own the company commercial structure and activity
- Work with the organisation to align their internal capabilities to support customer requirements and growth opportunities
- Work with the internal marketing resource to promote actively and successfully within these markets
- Manage existing client relationships to maximise return.
- Lead the direct sales engagement with customers, completing all commercial activity to support successful relationship growth
- Develops our clients position further within these global sectors
Specifically, suitable candidates should have a working experience range of EMS and electronic manufacturing and also understand the routes to these markets/applications. Wherever possible, candidates should have existing knowledge of suitable customers and market entry points as well as have the overall programme and supply chain awareness to identify and explore and develop these markets further.
Reporting to the CEO and having close connectivity with the Group sites, the successful candidate will bring additional experience of working in a manufacturing and EMS environment. They will be focused on profitable success.
Hybrid working in the UK/Europe and be able to support frequent travel and team/organisation/market engagement, suitable candidates should have similar experience in strategic commercial leadership as well as delivering revenue growth within a relating product/technical environment.

To support further growth and application / sector diversification, we are seeking a new hybrid-based Business Development Manager to support further growth across non-automotive, engineering services and R&D environments in particular – this is a “hunting” role and requires a direct business development approach.
Primarily based in central/southern England and with a strong emphasis on deep customer research, opportunity origination and strategic new business acquisition, the Business Development Manager will centre on intelligence led business development. You will systematically research, prioritise and penetrate target customers, building new relationships based on technical insight and engineering credibility.
Converting research into actionable pipeline opportunities and position our client as a strategic propulsion partner early in program development cycles, responsibilities include:
- Initiate new OEM relationships through highly tailored, insight driven outreach
- Engage engineering and advanced development teams before formal RFQ stages
- Challenge incumbent Tier 1 suppliers and in house motor programs with data led positioning
- Lead exploratory technical commercial meetings
- Convert early engagement into formal RFI/RFQ’s
