Maintenance Engineer - Electrical

Excellent opportunity for an electrically biased maintenance engineer to join an established maintenance team at a professional and reputable manufacturing company in Birmingham. Competitive salary and overall benefits available to include salary sacrifice pension with matched contribution up to 10% a family covered medical plan. 

Shift: 4 on 4 off (2 Days 2 Nights)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Undertake front line repairs and perform both predicative and preventative
  • maintenance activities to minimise plant downtime, increase machine reliability
  • Maintain a wide range of manufacturing equipment and ancillary equipment ranging from large machinery to site services.
  • To operate in a structured environment complying to the maintenance schedule to drive quality.
  • Liaise with manufacturing personnel regarding plant release, downtime estimation, plant hand backs and alternative/compromise solutions.
  • To provide an excellent service ie. effective and efficient breakdown repairs.
  • Drive all EHS and quality procedures to follow company policies and to operate a fully flexible team; Adhere to Health and Safety policies to create a safe working environment.

Key Objectives

  • To operate in a structured environment complying to the maintenance schedule to drive quality i.e. internal/external labour resource.
  • Liaise with manufacturing personnel regarding plant release, downtime estimation, plant hand backs and alternative/compromise solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering field
  • Good understanding of PLC systems
  • Time served apprenticeship
  • Heavy Engineering experience
  • Ability to interpret circuit drawings in order to fault find
  • Wiring Regulations 17th Edition

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher NVQ / HNC Engineering field
  • Metal industry experience
  • To understand and have experience of EHS requirements in a maintenance/manufacturing environment
  • Wiring Regulations 18th or above
  • Experience in driving mobile equipment such as F.L.T or powered access

You will have current or recent experience as maintenance engineer - electrical, electrical maintenance technician, multi-skilled engineer, multi-skilled maintenance engineer, maintenance engineer, electrical technician, electrical fitter, electrical engineer or shift engineer electrical.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assembling multi‑material components such as aluminium, steel, and polycarbonate sheeting

  • Cutting components to size and fastening via riveting, drilling, bolting, etc.
  • Working safely at all times, following company processes and quality standards

The Role

The role of the Purchase Ledger Invoice Clerk is to action the three-way matching process. This provides vital financial control by verifying that a supplier's invoice matches with the company's purchase order (PO) and goods received note (GRN) before passing to accounts payable for payment processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Match the invoices received electronically from suppliers to the goods received note (GRN) and purchase order (PO) raised internally. This is done using our inhouse bespoke software and can be in any major currency. Ensuring invoices waiting to be matched are kept to a minimum.
  • Maintain digital files of all invoices, POs and GRNs to ensure a clear audit trail. Generate weekly report showing invoices outstanding across the business. Assist with managers, auditors when needed.

Person Specification

Although full training will be given to the successful candidate the following would be advantageous:

  • Prior knowledge of purchase ledger and or three-way matching process.
  • The ability to communicate with effectively with colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to handle a high volume of transactions and meet deadlines.

We are seeking an Electronic Control Systems Engineer to join a leading Agri-Tech business in Shropshire, this is working a fixed day shift pattern (37 hours per week) and the annual salary is up to £60,000 per annum (DOE), the hiring manager is looking for someone who will be based in the office 5 days per week, there is an opportunity to work from home 1 day per week every 2 weeks, and a relocation package can be offered for someone who lives more than 2 hours away from Shropshire and is prepared to move to the area.

Anyone who has worked as a Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, Electrical Systems Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Electrical & Software Application Engineer or Software Applications Engineer would be well received.

What You Will Do:

  • Take ownership of the electronic control system development for advanced agricultural tractors.
  • Specify electronic components such as ECUs and sensors, ensuring they meet technical requirements.
  • Develop and prototype software to control tractor systems.
  • Design and manage HIL/SIL rigs for testing and validation.
  • Debug, commission, and perform regression testing on prototype tractors.
  • Integrate electrical and electronic systems into the overall vehicle design.
  • Manage suppliers to achieve technical goals and oversee vehicle software development.
  • Ensure designs meet global standards, cost, timing, and quality requirements.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum of 5 year's experience within a similar role
  • Proven experience in software development, from requirements to physical validation.
  • Expertise in tools like Vector CANalyzer, Parker IQAN, Matlab/Simulink, and Bosch BODAS.
  • Knowledge of CANbus, ISObus, and electronic control systems for off-highway or agricultural vehicles.
  • Experience with electrification, hybrid powertrains, and whole vehicle system integration.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams.

Project Manager - Advanced Metering Infrastructure

Overview:

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager that has had a previous track record on advanced metering infrastructure, this is an exciting role that will ead the end-to-end delivery of the organisation’s AMI 2.0 implementation, acting as the client-side owner for scope, schedule, governance, and deployment coordination across all phases: design, implementation, testing, pilot, rollout, and stabilisation.

This role is accountable for orchestrating cross-functional delivery across Metering, IT, Finance, Customer Care, Service Delivery, and external suppliers, ensuring that the AMI solution is implemented safely, compliantly, and predictably in line with operational, regulatory, and customer obligations.

The position exists to translate vendor delivery models, technical designs, testing regimes, and field deployment activities into outcomes that are fully operable by the utility. It provides clear ownership for decision-making, risk management, and change control on the client side, including managing impacts and dependencies arising from other Smart Upgrade initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day project cost control and forecasting across AMI implementation phases
  • Manages client-side delivery budgets associated with AMI rollout (people, logistics, training, deployment support)
  • Supports CapEx and OpEx planning and benefits realisation tracking
  • Ensures rigorous change control to protect cost, scope, and schedule
  • Lead client-side AMI 2.0 delivery in line with the agreed implementation model, phase gates, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers to ensure effective sequencing, resourcing, governance, and delivery of design, build, integration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Own and manage the master project schedule, dependencies, and critical path across all delivery phases, including dual HES operational periods.
  • Identify and manage delivery risks (technical, operational, safety, customer, reputational), implement mitigations, and operate formal change control processes.
  • Involved in testing and Ensure fulfilment of client-side responsibilities across FAT, SIT, UAT, and SAT, including preparation, resourcing, evidence review, and formal acceptance decisions.
  • Oversee installation sequencing, installer capacity, logistics readiness, and site access planning in collaboration with Service Delivery and contractors.
  • Act as the primary coordination point between internal stakeholders and the AMI supplier project team, ensuring clarity of expectations, decisions, and escalation routes.
  • Ensure operational processes, documentation, training, and support models are in place for a controlled transition into steady-state operations.
  • Embed health, safety, and environmental requirements into all project and field activities, treating safety as the primary delivery constraint.

Experience, knowledge, and qualifications:

Essential Experience:

  • Proven delivery of complex, multi-year infrastructure or systems projects
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in regulated or safety-critical environments
  • Strong working knowledge of project governance, risk management, and change control
  • Experience managing vendors and suppliers under formal contractual arrangements
  • Working knowledge of database-driven systems and integrations

Desirable Experience:

  • Utility, energy, or infrastructure sector experience
  • Large-scale system implementations with field deployment components
  • Experience working within formal testing and acceptance frameworks

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience in engineering, project management, or a related discipline
  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, PMP) desirable
