Overview:
We are seeking an experienced operational leader to join our Energy Division as a Service Delivery & Resource Manager, leading workforce planning and operational resource coordination across our electricity distribution and utility services network.
This is a key leadership opportunity within a critical infrastructure environment, responsible for ensuring the effective deployment of operational teams supporting construction, metering, maintenance, network operations and customer service delivery across Jersey’s electricity distribution network.
You will play a central role in supporting the delivery of essential utility services across a network that includes substations, distribution infrastructure, underground cable systems and more than 55,000 service and metering points.
We are looking for a highly organised and commercially aware manager with strong experience in utilities operations, field workforce planning, operational service delivery or infrastructure resource management.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading the Service Delivery Resource team to ensure efficient workforce planning and operational scheduling
- Managing resource allocation across construction, metering, maintenance and operational delivery teams
- Supporting electricity distribution and utility operations through effective deployment of field-based personnel
- Forecasting workforce demand and supporting long-term operational planning
- Driving performance improvements through KPI analysis, reporting and process optimisation
- Collaborating with Construction, Planning, Metering and Network Operations teams to support business priorities
- Leading team performance, development, training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with HS&E standards, utility regulations and operational procedures
- Supporting operational excellence and high levels of customer service across all service delivery activities
What We’re Looking For

What you'll be leading:
- Full operational responsibility for a complex melting department, including cupola and electric furnace operations
- Leadership of an experienced melting team, creating a culture built on safety, discipline, ownership, and high standards
- Daily planning and execution of furnace charging, melt scheduling, and resource deployment aligned to production demand
- Quality assurance across all melts, ensuring grade compliance, process consistency, and release authorisation against technical parameters
- Investigation of process deviations, root cause analysis, and implementation of lasting corrective actions
- Departmental cost control, including labour efficiency, overtime management, yield optimisation, and waste reduction
- Continuous improvement initiatives that increase throughput, improve quality, and reduce operational cost
- Collaboration with production, maintenance, planning, and wider foundry leadership to support business objectives
What we're looking for:
You'll likely come from a foundry, castings, metals, steel, iron, or heavy process manufacturing environment and bring:
- Proven leadership experience within melting, metallurgical, or foundry operations
- Strong knowledge of cupola and/or electric furnace processes
- A deep understanding of melt chemistry, process control, and metallurgical quality standards
- Experience using process data, thermal analysis, and operational metrics to drive decisions
- A track record of improving productivity, reducing waste, and delivering measurable cost savings
- Natural leadership capability, able to coach teams, challenge standards, and build accountability
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance within heavy industry

What You Will Do:
As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer;
- To assist in the design of a range of engine ancillaries including oil, water & fuel pumps
- Concept and detailed design of e-Pumps for Data centre applications.
- Ability to work from 1 st principals in concept design work utilising problem solving skills
- Work alongside engineering team to ensure design is optimised for manufacture
- To liaise with design team & Chief Engineer to resolve design issues.
- Create CAD models & layout of engineering drawings
- To create engineering reports
- Liaison with customers, internal departments and external suppliers.
- Excellent knowledge in GD&T's
- Experience in DFMEA and DFM
What You Will Need:
As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer;
- Degree qualified Engineer with a minimum of 5years industry experience
- Proven ability in one of the leading 3D CAD modelling packages, ideally Creo
- Experience of designing with both metals and plastic materials
- Good experience in working with Electro mechanical products.
- Knowledge/experience in concept design work
- Knowledge of rotating components such as bearings, seals, gears, pulleys would be advantageous.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Undertake the assembly and manufacture of parts and assemblies to the point where they are complete machines and ready for testing.
Tasks Include:
- Control panel assembly and wiring
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of parts, sub-assemblies, and finished machines
- Plastic parts manufacture
- Finishing and packaging of completed machines
- Wiring of chambers
- Testing of chambers using provided instructions
- Self-inspection of finished items according to defined methodology
- Improving assembly methods and practices to reduce costs and minimize waste
- Ensuring quality work to minimize non-conformities
- Adhering strictly to provided work instructions and methods
- Maintaining tidiness, cleanliness, and high standards of housekeeping in own work area and throughout the workshop
- Training other employees as required

- Experience managing or supervising teams in a production, engineering, or factory environment
