About the Role

We are seeking a electrically and mechanically skilled engineers for a Field Service Technician role to join a growing technical support team working remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of precision equipment at customer sites worldwide for a manufacturer of specialist precision equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically qualified professional who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and international travel working away Mon – Fri, 3 weeks in 4.

Location Telford Based company offering remote working with extensive site-based work worldwide

Hours 37.5 hours per week Mon – Fri

Salary Competitive Remuneration, hours paid from door to door plus bonuses for non-European travel

Field Service Technician - Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission precision equipment at customer facilities globally
  • Working away for up to 3 weeks with 1 week breaks to work at home remotely on tech support/ help desk
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs
  • Diagnose electrical and pneumatic faults efficiently and accurately
  • Calibrate and test equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on-site
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards at all times
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with the service team

Experience and Qualification Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working with electrical systems and pneumatics
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills mechanically and electrically
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Previous field service experience
  • Full, valid driving licence
  • Passport holder with willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
  • Strong communication skills and professional customer-facing manner

Desirable

  • Experience working with high-precision or automated equipment
  • Ex forces, military, Army, Navy, RAF engineering background
  • Time Served Apprenticeship or HNC
  • Knowledge of Windows based controls
  • Understanding of calibration, testing and validation processes

Current or recent experience as service engineer, service technician, field service engineer, electrical fitter, mechanical fitter, maintenance engineer, maintenance technician, installation engineer.

About the role

Following an operational restructure the business is creating several new opportunities for an experienced Production Manager who thrives on leading change.

The role is on a night's shift pattern which is Monday to Thursday 9.15pm to 6.30am (37 hours per week) There is also flexible working which can be explained on application.

As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, you will be a driving force behind performance, engagement and continuous improvement. You will take full ownership of your production area, acting as a role model for World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Six Sigma discipline and Kaizen thinking, embedding these principles into everyday behaviours, decision-making and leadership routines.

This is not a role for maintaining the status quo. It's for someone who enjoys challenging how things are done, building belief in better ways of working, and developing teams that take pride in improvement. You will support the Value Stream Senior Manager and act as their deputy when required.

About you

Essential

Degree, HND, NVQ Level 5 or equivalent in manufacturing, engineering or a related discipline.

Proven experience leading cultural change in a manufacturing environment, not just implementing tools.

Strong working knowledge of Lean, WCM, Six Sigma problem-solving and Kaizen deployment.

Confident people leader with the ability to coach, challenge and inspire teams.

Track record of delivering KPIs through engagement, standardisation and continuous improvement.

Strong understanding of H&S, ISO9001 and quality systems.

Financial awareness including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.

Able to interpret engineering drawings, PFMEAs and control plans.

Desirable

Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent CI qualification.

Experience with SAP or M3.

IOSH Managing Safely.

Project Management qualification.

This is an excellent role where you will be Person in Charge during the Night Shift, you will be installing operational and leadership change, working with a dedicated, skilled work force.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to take ownership of commissioning activities across the full lifecycle of complex with bespoke engineering projects.

This is a key role responsible for developing and delivering commissioning strategies, leading testing activities, and acting as the commissioning authority across multidisciplinary teams. You will play a critical part in ensuring engineered solutions are tested, verified, and delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project and regulatory requirements.

The Role

As Commissioning Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and implement commissioning strategies for bespoke engineering projects.
  • Produce comprehensive test and commissioning documentation, including:
  • Pressure and proof load testing
  • Control panel inspections
  • Setting-to-work documentation
  • Safe systems of work
  • Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
  • Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Manage handovers between Manufacturing and Commissioning functions.
  • Lead and execute FAT and SAT activities, ensuring risk assessments, test equipment, and temporary commissioning aids are in place.
  • Identify and report non-conformities, supporting structured resolution processes.
  • Ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, on time, and in line with project scope.
  • Support tendering activities by estimating commissioning scope, hours, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and motivate commissioning and test engineers to achieve project objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

You will bring strong technical credibility combined with practical commissioning leadership experience.

Essential:

  • HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline or higher qualification.
  • Extensive hands-on engineering experience.
  • Experience leading or managing commissioning teams.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Understanding of relevant British and European Standards (e.g. BS7671).
  • Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in dynamic project environments.
