A leading food manufacturer are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a supportive engineering team, sharpen mechanical, electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills, and take real ownership by stepping up as Lead Engineer when required. You will have experience of both electrical and mechanical engineering with strong welding and fabrication background.
Salary £45,000 to £50,000 plus Benefits
Shift Pattern- 4 on 4 off days & nights
What You Will Do:
- Optimise machinery output and product quality through effective preventative maintenance and breakdown response as a Maintenance Engineer.
- Quickly diagnose mechanical, electrical and PLC control breakdowns on site, identifying root cause and suggesting improvements to prevent repeat issues.
- Deputise for the Engineering Shift Manager and lead teams within an area or zone, ensuring engineering maintenance is delivered to schedule.
- Communicate unscheduled breakdowns clearly and collaborate with operations to minimise plant disruption and maintain safe running.
- Follow strong engineering standards, hygiene practice and legislative health and safety requirements, raising issues promptly where needed.
- Mentor Level 1 to 3 Maintenance Engineers and apprentices, while producing timely engineering shift reports and supporting contractor management.
What You Will Bring:
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering, plus HNC, HND or a Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proven mechanical and electrical engineering experience. With strong fabrication and welding experience.
- Previous experience working within fast paced manufacturing environments.
- Proficient mechanical fitting skills and good leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate others and make timely decisions.
- Familiarity with IEE 17th or 18th edition is desirable, alongside welding/fabrication confidence and safe working practices.

Controls Engineer
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Controls Engineer to join a well-established engineering business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke automated machinery and special-purpose equipment.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a key role in the design, programming, commissioning and ongoing development of innovative automation solutions for customers across a variety of industries.
This role offers a combination of office-based engineering, hands-on commissioning and occasional customer site work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop PLC software and machine control systems for bespoke automation projects.
- Produce functional specifications and machine control documentation.
- Ensure all control systems comply with current safety standards and best engineering practices.
- Support design reviews, risk assessments and design feasibility studies.
- Commission, test and fault-find PLC-controlled machinery both in-house and at customer sites.
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical and project engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and customer acceptance activities.
- Provide technical support to installation and commissioning teams.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout each project.
- Liaise directly with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
About You
We're looking for an engineer who has:
- HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Electrical, Controls or Automation Engineering (or equivalent industry experience).
- Previous experience in a Controls Engineer position within industrial automation or special purpose machinery.
- Strong PLC programming experience using Siemens S7 / TIA Portal.
- Experience with Ford FAST Programming would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Schneider Electric Unity or PL7 is beneficial but not essential.
- A sound understanding of machinery, automation systems and mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience commissioning and fault-finding automated equipment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using CAD packages such as EPLAN or AutoCAD would be advantageous.

Due to continued success and ongoing projects my client is seeking panel wirer to join them on contract basis for the remainder of the year with good earning potential available with continual overtime paid at good rates. Great work environment and interesting work for a skilled panel wirer.
Hourly Rate: £15 – 16/hr or £19.50 – 20/hr CIS or Umbrella
Hours: Days Monday to Friday (Early Finish Friday) 37.5 hours week
The successful Panel Wirer will carry out the following duties
- Fitting and wiring electrical components
- Preparing wires and looms
- Fitting electrical components to back plates and external covers
- Working to drawings wiring complete panels
As panel wirer you will have the following experience
- Wiring experience from schematic drawings
- Machine and panel wiring / fitting electrical components.
- Control panel or switchgear or electrical distribution experience
- Current or previous experience as panel wirer, electrical fitter, electrical installation, wireman

A growing food business is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will help keep a fast-moving food logistics site safe, compliant, and running smoothly every day. You will help maintain and fix kitchen production equipment such as oven, refrigeration and fryers.
Salary £50,000 to £55,000 plus Benefits.
What You Will Do:
- Lead day-to-day facilities maintenance across the Bicester depot, keeping the site safe, compliant, well-maintained, and fully operational.
- Carry out general maintenance and handyman duties, including basic repairs, painting and decorating, and proactive issue identification.
- Coordinate external contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to the required standard.
- Support refrigeration and air conditioning maintenance, loading bay and shutter door upkeep, and basic fault troubleshooting for site systems.
- Help maintain fire and security checks, including support for fire alarms, CCTV, and emergency lighting routines.
- Assist with compliance activities such as Legionella and water hygiene checks, gas and electrical safety checks (including PAT and FWT), and relevant H&S risk assessments.
