An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual who would like to join a progressing company. This role is based within an established Production department; therefore, a strong team player attitude is essential.

Summary of Job:

  • To undertake machining duties, as required, in accordance with the company quality standards and best engineering working practices
  • To undertake activities in a timely and efficient manner in order to maintain company contractual delivery requirements
  • To assist, where required, in peripheral activities, e.g., assembly, packing, etc

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Must be experienced using machinery such as vertical/horizontal borers, lathes and drilling machines
  • Maths and English GCSE grade 4/5 (equivalent grade C equivalent) is preferable but not essential

Hours of work

Works hours enable flexitime working, covering a 40 hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday covers an 8.5 hour shift with half an hour unpaid lunch break and a ten minute paid break in the morning and afternoon, Friday covers a 6 hour shift with no lunch break but does include a twenty minute paid break. Overtime is available dependent upon workload, further details will be given at interview stage.

Job Purpose: Systems Engineering - Process and Governance

Senior Systems Engineer are required for an international Defence and Weapons Systems Company that is expanding their team. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are available for these positions. Salary and Seniority will depend on skills and experience. The Senior Systems Engineer will be part of the delivery team within the organisation and the Senior Systems Engineer will be working to provide specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in the development of engineering processes.

Relocation support packages are available for the Senior Systems Engineer subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Systems Engineer - (Process and Governance)

  • Identify the need for, develop, communicate, and maintain processes supporting the entire engineering life-cycle.
  • Understand and articulate the impact of their processes on other areas of the functional and wider business. Along with Understanding and articulating the role of governance within and beyond Engineering.
  • Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the correct tools and documentation and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority.
  • Support the development of estimates for the scope of work and resources required to deliver it in order to support bids, proposal development and project planning activities from a process and governance perspective.
  • Support the documentation of domain knowledge and be able to pass on information and expertise in order to help grow the knowledge base within appropriate business teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to other engineers and support the engineering management team in planning and controlling specialist activities.

Experience/Qualifications - Senior Systems Engineer - (Process and Governance)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a STEM-related field
  • Extensive experience and expertise in process, governance, and assurance practices, preferably within the defence sector
  • Familiarity with the engineering life-cycle, including direct experience in the relevant phase for this role, as well as an understanding of the broader engineering process.
  • A strong technical understanding of how your work contributes to the overall product, platform, or programme.
