What You Will Do:

 

- Manage end-to-end UK payroll processing for approximately 300 employees, including starters, leavers, bonuses, statutory payments, and benefits using Sage Payroll.

- Ensure payroll is delivered accurately and on time, maintaining compliance with HMRC and GDPR requirements.

- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.

- Collaborate with third-party providers to manage international payrolls across Europe and the USA.

- Provide payroll data and reporting, including gender pay gap and pension compliance.

- Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations and enhance controls.

What You Will Bring:

 

- Extensive experience in end-to-end UK payroll management.

- Expertise in Sage Payroll, ideally gained in a standalone or small team environment.

- Proven ability to problem-solve, with a track record of driving process improvements.

- Strong knowledge of HMRC legislation, pension schemes, and statutory reporting requirements.

- Confidence in handling high volumes of work and meeting tight deadlines.

About the Company:

Profitable manufacturing business based in Preston, undergoing a company with transformation and modernisation are looking to hire two experienced finance business partners to aid commercial decision making within manufacturing and supply chain.

An established global brand, with innovative products, the organisation are poised for further growth and success.

The role will report to the UK Head of Finance and work alongside an experienced team. The firm are also going through a systems implementation, the role offering excellent exposure to change programmes and senior leadership interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and provide insights that link financial reports to business strategies.
  • Initiate and implement effective commercial procedures and controls to ensure meeting key operational, commercial, and financial targets.
  • Improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance.
  • Influence business stakeholders in strategic choices and evaluations to drive financial performance.
  • Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams.
  • Assist in producing annual budgets and forecasts that accurately reflect business strategy and requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and insights, financial controls, and planning activities.

Requirements:

To ensure your success in our mission, you'll need to have the following qualifications and experiences:

Education:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Experience in a business partnering role.
  • Deep understanding of the interaction between the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
  • Utilise and embrace the latest data and analytics tools, such as PowerBI.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic initiative monitoring, and translating business strategy into financial plans.
  • Good commercial acumen with the ability to identify risks and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to analyse business performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, relationship building, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate effective influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and look beyond the 'here and now' for new business opportunities (Horizon scanning).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment and propose, justify, initiate, and implement change.
