What You Will Do:

  • This role is pivotal in leading the company into the digital era, through the design and delivery of world-class automation solutions.
  • Carry out quality inspection and electrical testing of control panels, ensuring the highest standards are met.
  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical technical drawings, ensuring components are correct and functional.
  • Be responsible for the calibration of all in-house test equipment and maintain high standards of house-keeping within the service area.
  • Record test results accurately, identifying and correcting faults as required, and liaise with other departments to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Support panel build and wiring activities when testing is not required, adhering to company and external quality and safety standards.

What You Will Bring:

  • Electrical/electronic engineering qualification with a minimum of 5 years panel wiring experience.
  • Time spent in a role as electrical test engineer
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to use initiative and pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the capability to prioritise effectively.
  • Good knowledge of systems integration incorporating variable speed drives, robotics, PLCs is advantageous
  • A hands-on attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

 Current or recent experience as electrical technician, electrical tester, test technician, electrical test and inspection, panel wiring, control system engineer, control panel wirer, control panel tester, NPI wirer

An Electronic and Electrical Engineer is required within an Advanced Space and Defence Services Organisation. The Electronic and Electrical Engineer will be an experienced Engineer working on technical Space and Defence projects while shaping the future of Space and Defence Engineering.

The Electronic and Electrical Engineer will facilitate Space and Defence Engineering activity, and the Electronic and Electrical Engineer will need experience with Systems Assembly, Systems Integration & System Test. The Electronic and Electrical Engineer will be working alongside subject matter experts in a dynamic and growth focused Space and Defence business.

Due to the Space & Defence Products/Platforms involved this is a Fully On-site Role with no Hybrid.

The Electronic and Electrical Engineer you will be required to:

  • Design / Specification to support Systems (e.g. Electronic Propulsion, Radio Frequency and Central Systems)
  • Alignment of design with requirement engineering processes (Traceability/Compliance matrix etc.) considering customer level requirements.
  • Review of supplier documentation / RID generation (e.g. during Tender phase or during formal reviews with the customer)
  • Support of major customer review processes
  • Production of relevant technical documentation (e.g. Design reports, User Manuals, Test Procedures)
  • Oversight of manufacturing processes for platform systems, this may include Procurement,
  • Managing and prioritizing the manufacturing processes
  • Validation and certification for use in the Systems facility
  • First level support for the Systems facility, which may include Commissioning of hardware, Composition of procedures and training.

The Electronic and Electrical Engineer Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Degree in engineering with ideally an electrical or electronics systems background.
  • Where applicable suitable experience in addition to a lower qualification may be acceptable.
  • Strong industrial background in areas related to Space and Defence Ideally.
  • Solid understanding of the technical challenges in this field.
  • A passion for hands-on engineering able to solve complex problems.
  • Some knowledge of Space and Defence Systems Engineering and Complex Platforms.
  • Experience in customer facing roles and business development is also advantageous.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical and electronic systems for hybrid and electric agricultural vehicles.
  • Develop and manage a supplier network to meet technical requirements and project goals.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a growing team of electrical and electronic engineers.
  • Design systems that meet worldwide standards and ensure seamless integration with whole-vehicle designs.
  • Oversee software release management and ensure compliance with industry protocols like J1939 CAN Bus and ISO11783 ISOBUS.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across Europe and India to ensure project success.

What You Will Bring:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical and electronic system design, ideally in off-highway or agricultural vehicles.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Vesys, AutoCAD, and CAN Bus interrogation systems like Vector.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Expertise in HV and LV electrical architecture, as well as relevant software design packages such as Parker IQAN, Simulink, and Codesys.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.

An opportunity has arisen for Instrumentation Engineer to join an Aerospace and Defence Organisation within the Milton Keynes area. The successful Instrumentation Engineer will join the Engineering Team and will support a wide variety of commercial and research projects.

The Instrumentation Engineer role will be to manufacture and install instrumentation associated with testing facilities. This will include but is not limited to; equipment calibration, the set-up of specialised measurement/monitoring equipment, assembly, and integration for test, troubleshooting and assisting in the operation of facilities.

The successful Instrumentation Engineer will be able to demonstrate the drive and commitment necessary for ensuring that work is completed in line with challenging schedule requirements whilst maintaining a clean, safe working environment. To succeed in this Instrumentation Engineer position, you must be flexible in your approach to working hours, which will require shift working, and able to respond quickly to a changing workload.

Working hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, shift work (typical hours are 07.00 - 15:00 and 14.00 - 22:00 on a rotating weekly basis) and salary dependent on experience.

Responsibilities, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required of the Instrumentation Engineer

  • Manufacture of wiring looms and assemblies with reference to circuit drawings/wiring lists.
  • Hand soldering of fine components at the workbench and strain-gauge installation/wiring.
  • Calibration, maintenance, testing, fault-finding of sensors and systems to component level.
  • Support the design and integration of instrumentation into customer tests and rigs.
  • Work as part of a team and conduct testing to defined quality standards.
  • Provide instrumentation support for projects in all test facilities.
  • Maintenance of the instrumentation hardware and records.
  • Preparation and installation of specialist optical measurement systems in test facilities.
  • Making recommendations for design, process, or hardware modifications.
  • Support continuous improvement within the department.
  • Perform tasks with conformance to Health & Safety Policy and Quality Standards.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Flexible approach to shift working patterns & overtime as required.
  • Undertaking training, where necessary, in support of the above duties.
  • Training will be given in all the specialist activities associated with this position.
  • Experienced time served technician, preferably educated to HNC/HND level.
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering level (or equivalent) with experience of working in R&D.
