About the Role:

The role is hybrid working, where you will predominantly be based from an Avara site, with the opportunity to work from home and on a regular basis require travel to our key Customer down South.
Purpose of the role:
As a Senior National Account Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the sales activities with our largest customer (a UK based retailer).
This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with this key account, driving sales growth, and ensuring the successful implementation of sales strategies.
The Senior National Account Manager will work closely with our Insights, Operations, Agriculture, Technical and NPD teams to achieve the company's revenue targets and expand the business with this key account.
Your key responsibilities as a Senior National Account Manager will include:
Account Management:
- As the primary company contact, build and maintain strong relationships.
Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to drive customer satisfaction.
Serve as the main point of contact, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and queries across multiple categories.
Ensure consistent communication and engagement with customer to foster long-term partnerships.
Manage the customer/supplier portal with up-to-date product information, pricing and promotional deals.
Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement sales strategies that align with both company goals and objectives as well as key customer strategic plans.
Manage the product mix to maximise efficiency and profitability whilst working with the customer to drive market share.
Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth with the customer.
Collaborate with internal and external Insight/Operations/NPD/Technical/Agriculture/Finance teams to ensure alignment on customer strategy, needs and expectation.
Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as necessary to meet targets.
Revenue Growth:
- Drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding sales quotas and targets for assigned account.
Negotiate pricing, volumes, promotional plans etc, to deliver revenue and profit objectives together with competitive positioning in the market.
Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for upselling opportunities.
Attend product submissions alongside NPD & Insight to support with how new product ranges can support and drive market share growth.
Sales Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and deliver regular sales reports and performance analysis to senior management.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse sales performance and respond to risks and opportunities.
Lead both internal and external weekly meetings with key stakeholders to review supply performance, potential challenges/risks, future planning and key KPIs.
Support with S&OP forecasting process based on current performance, product range changes, promotions and insight led forecasts.
Provide actionable insights based on data to improve sales strategies and account management.
Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new opportunities or potential threats.
Gather market intelligence to refine sales tactics and ensure a competitive edge in the market.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in account management or national sales roles.
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in an own-label environment.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to analyse data and derive actionable insights.
Willingness to travel as required.
