Title: Testing Technician

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an energetic and enthusiastic Testing Technician to work for our client at their test facility in Rugby, the role would be involved in performing physical attack testing of security products and would suit someone who has mechanical engineering experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing physical attack testing of security products
  • Rig/machine-based testing
  • Testing is primarily to in-house test specifications, but also to BS, EN, ISO and other standards
  • Writing technical reports on tests and assessments performed, for sign off by Lab Manager/Technical Manager
  • Ideally experienced in basic machining, fabrication & welding, for making test fixtures and building test rigs, but training available
  • Liaising with clients
  • Goods inwards & booking in – logging deliveries, generating file sheets/numbers on the system, and photographing samples received and saving in the correct locations
  • As with any small team the person must be willing to assist with all tasks within the office environment such as answering the phone, answering the door, dealing with visitors etc.

Skills & Education:

  • Background/Experience
  • Mechanical engineering experience
  • General engineering testing experience desirable, but not essential
  • Understanding of mechanical security products desirable – training provided
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Desire to learn new skills and undergo continuous professional development
  • Great IT skills; maximising the use of electronic formats
  • The ability to work autonomously, but also integrate fully with the rest of the team
  • Follow up skills on tasks are highly important along with a strong ability to problem solve

  • Comfortable and confident dealing with others at all levels within the industry
