What you will do as Lead CAE Engineer Crash Analysis

  • Assisting in preparation of analysis quotations to customers
  • Meshing and assembly of FE models to internal or customer-specific model quality guidelines using pre-processing software, including application of suitable material models, loads and boundary conditions
  • Use of FEA to perform crashworthiness analysis to guide the design of a vehicle
  • Using appropriate static and dynamic analysis software packages to solve problems involving linear elastic and non-linear elastic/plastic material models, small and large deformation behaviour, and contact
  • Interpreting analysis results using post-processing software and formally documenting analysis methodology, results and conclusions within analysis reports where required
  • Presenting analysis results to internal and external customers, providing recommendations on possible design optimisation to save weight and/or improve performance

What you will have as Lead CAE Engineer Crash Analysis

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Ability to demonstrate hand calculations to support FE analysis
  • Relevant simulation experience and experience of analysing test data
  • Ability and project knowledge of Hyperworks / LS-Dyna /Radioss software
  • Intermediate knowledge of core FEA codes
  • Ability to lead individuals and communicate clearly and effectively within the internal team and customers
  • Awareness: Project deliverables, customer processes

  • Proven experience in an STA role working on Supplier Quality Assurance within the automotive industry within an OEM or 1st Tier Supplier
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and working ISO9001/IATF16949 and other relevant quality management systems
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and quality requirements for automotive components
  • Ability to carry out audits and monitor and report on Supplier performance
  • Excellent understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other quality management tools

Responsibilities include:

To support this role, you will have:
