What You Will Do:

  • Transfer data from drawings to create BOMs and routings on an ERP system
  • Formulate strategies for efficient and lean manufacturing processes

This is more than a managerial role - it's a unique opportunity to blend hands-on technical work with high-level leadership.

As a key player in our senior management team, you'll be at the forefront of developing and managing simulation and control capabilities across a wide range of exciting industries, including Aerospace, eVTOL, Marine, and Cockpit Controls. You'll work alongside other engineering leaders, ensuring we have the right technical skills, methods and processes in place to drive forward a wide range of innovative projects.

The Simulation and Control group provides mathematical modelling and analysis across many technical areas, including: Hydromechanical system modelling, Electro-mechanical equipment modelling, Multi-body simulation, Servo/motor control, Vehicle level control

The areas for application are extensive and cover: Landing gear systems modelling and design, Hydraulic system modelling and design, Electro-mechanical actuator modelling, Flight dynamics modelling and analysis, Motor control, Flight control system modelling

What You'll Do:

  • Lead from the front: You'll be deeply involved in hands-on technical work while driving the strategic direction of the Simulation and Control team
  • Shape the future: Oversee the development and management of cutting-edge mathematical models and detailed analyses for some of the most exciting industries today
  • Collaborate and innovate: Work closely with other capability managers to align resources, skills, and expertise to meet ambitious project goals
  • Grow the team: Manage talent, foster skill development, and provide technical leadership to ensure your team thrives

What You Will Bring:

  • You'll have a strong industrial background in areas related to simulation and control, with a solid understanding of the technical challenges in this field
  • With significant industry experience in one or more of our business areas, the successful candidate should have a relevant degree with technical hands-on experience and knowledge in modelling including with some of the following tool sets:  Matlab/Simulink and associated toolboxes, ADAMS, Amesim
  • Demonstrable experience in technical leadership, including line management and process improvement
  • Experience in customer facing roles and business development is also advantageous

The successful candidate must currently hold Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible to obtain SC.

Utilize MathWorks toolset, including Simulink and associated toolboxes, for project execution

What You Will Bring:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline

  • Develop part and system testing plans.
  • Support in-house prototype build.

As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - you will have;

  • BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or HNC/HDC with equivalent experience)
  • Proven mechanical design, analysis & development experience
  • Proficient in modelling parts & assemblies in 3D CAD
  • Proficient in carrying out engineering calculations and the use of modelling and simulations software. (Mathcad, ANSYS or similar)
  • Experience in developing mechanical systems from concept to reality

  • Build and analyse mechanical models of static and rotating components using 2D and 3D FEA.
  • Working closely with design team to optimise the performance and integrity of mechanical components across the platform.
  • Technical assessment of the component life and integrity through the design phase, into testing, verification, validation, certification and in-service support.
  • LCF and HCF lifing of components
  • Crack propagation and damage tolerance assessments of Critical Parts.

As Mechanical Stress Engineer - you will have;

  • BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with relevant mechanical analysis experience
  • FEA mechanical analysis experience
  • Good understanding of transient thermal loads in hot components and load interactions
  • Experience in rig testing and verification is desirable
  • Experience with damage tolerance assessments is desirable
  • Team orientated, problem solving attitude.

I am seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an established automotive engineering company. This is a contract role outside IR35.

They are part of a growing successful business operating in the supply of automotive components for a range of commercial engines. They provide design and development services for other sister companies within the engine products division being a global supplier/market leader in their field.

What You Will Do:

As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer;

  • To assist in the design of a range of engine ancillaries including oil, water & fuel pumps
  • Ability to work from 1 st principals in concept design work utilising problem solving skills
  • Work alongside engineering team to ensure design is optimised for manufacture
  • To liaise with design team & Chief Engineer to resolve design issues.
  • Create CAD models & layout of engineering drawings
  • To create engineering reports

What You Will Need:

As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer;

  • Degree qualified Engineer with a minimum of 3years industry experience
  • Proven ability in one of the leading 3D CAD modelling packages
  • Experience of designing with both metals and plastic materials
  • Knowledge/experience in concept design work
  • Knowledge of rotating components such as bearings, seals, gears, pulleys would be advantageous
