Are you an experienced Technical Operator looking for a new job in Telford (Shropshire) that can offer you long-term stability?

We are proud to be working with an FMCG manufacturer in Telford who are looking for up to 5 Technical Operators to join them on a straight permanent basis.

You will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12 hour days and nights, 06:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00) and the annual salary will range between £35,200 - £36,300 per annum.

The Recruitment Process We are looking to move quickly with these roles, and as part of the companies interview process you will be required to do the following:

  1. Online Assessment: Short initial test to gauge technical aptitude.
  2. Assessment & Hiring Event: Successful candidates will be invited to the factory in Telford for a 2-hour session including an interview, technical discussion, and a factory tour. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Excellence: Monitor and operate advanced machinery to maintain seamless production runs.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Identify machine faults early using root-cause analysis and process fault trees, minimising downtime.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine precision cleaning and preventative maintenance.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks to ensure products meet our gold-standard benchmarks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the wider shift team to hit and exceed production targets.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Machine Setter, Process Operator, or Manufacturing Technician. Experience within FMCG is highly desirable.
  • Technical Aptitude: A natural ability to solve technical issues and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Precision: You are someone who notices the details and values efficiency.
  • Location: You must live within a 25-mile radius of Telford (Shropshire) to ensure a reliable commute for your shifts.

We are hiring 4 x Machine Setter Operators for a market-leading manufacturing facility in the Stafford Park area of Telford. These are permanent, stable roles with an immediate start available for the right candidates.

We are looking for hands-on professionals who have a minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role, and preferably with a background in Food, Packaging, Print, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing.

About the role

We’re recruiting for a hands-on Financial Controller to lead the finance function within a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone who understands the commercial drivers behind manufacturing operations – from cost control and stock management to margin improvement and operational efficiency.

You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy while supporting strategic decision-making across production, supply chain, and senior leadership teams.

 

Key responsibilities

This role blends financial control with operational insight, giving you real influence across the business:

  • Taking ownership of the end-to-end finance function within a manufacturing setting
  • Overseeing stock accounting, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold

  • Leading the production of monthly management accounts, statutory reporting, and compliance returns
  • Driving budgeting and forecasting, with a focus on production costs, margins, and cashflow
  • Strengthening financial controls, internal processes, and risk management frameworks
  • Managing and developing a finance team across sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, and general ledger
  • Delivering accurate balance sheet reconciliations, including stock, accruals, and prepayments
  • Supporting cost analysis, variance reporting, and KPI tracking across manufacturing operations
  • Handling taxation requirements (VAT, Corporation Tax, R&D, Customs & Excise, environmental taxes)
  • Partnering with auditors and leading the year-end audit process
  • Managing treasury activities, including cashflow forecasting and banking relationships
  • Leading finance-related process improvements and system enhancements
  • Ensuring statutory records and compliance obligations are maintained

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring both technical expertise and a strong understanding of manufacturing finance:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • 5–10 years’ experience in financial control within manufacturing, production, or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of stock control, standard costing, and inventory management
  • Experience with financial reporting, controls, and audit processes
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems/ERP platforms
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret operational and financial data
  • Confident communicator, able to partner with non-finance stakeholders (operations, production, supply chain)
  • Proven ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Detail-focused, organised, and proactive in approach

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Description:

Join our team as a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer, supporting manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, and operational targets. You'll work closely with line management and production teams, ensuring all engineering tasks meet high standards and contribute to continuous improvement.

Hours: There are two shift patterns available:

Shift Pattern One:
Sunday to Tuesday - 6pm-6am (36hrs)
Saturday to Tuesday - 6pm-6am (48hrs)

Shift Pattern Two:
Wednesday to Friday - 6pm-6am (36hrs)
Wednesday to Saturday - 6pm-6am (48hrs)

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out safe engineering operations, reporting hazards and adhering to Health & Safety policies.
- Ensure machine repairs and modifications meet site quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with production teams and provide clear shift handovers.
- Support and mentor machine operators in problem-solving.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and technical trials.
- Maintain accurate records in relevant systems.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and support site security.

Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' engineering experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry.
- Relevant engineering qualification.
- Mechanical engineering experience required, electrical experience advantageous.
