A new role has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an FMCG manufacturing business in Telford offering excellent career advancement opportunities. The full-time Maintenance Engineer role comes with a generous salary of over £49,400K and many excellent benefits and opportunity to earn well over £50K with Over Time. This role will suit energetic engineer with a good level of training and understanding of automated systems looking to develop their engineering career in a high technology manufacturing site.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be working within a busy manufacturing environment, conducting PPM on machines, scheduling repairs and installation of machines, supporting the senior engineers with ways to improve the machines and downtime, maintaining paperwork, reacting quickly to breakdowns and reporting any major machine faults to the Lead Engineer.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Be responsible for the installation and commissioning of any new machinery
  • Plan and carry out routine scheduled and preventative maintenance work
  • React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue
  • Maintain documentation, log all breakdowns and servicing work.

To apply for this Maintenance Engineer role, you will need a minimum of 3 years of experience within an FMCG manufacturing business. You will also require the following:

  • Experience with both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  • A recognised certificate/qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.

Are you an electrically bias Maintenance Engineer seeking a new challenge within a dynamic and forward-thinking environment? This leading food manufacturing business are seeking a electrically bias Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

Working a 4 on 4 off days & nights shift pattern. 

What You Will Do:

  • Optimise machinery output and product quality, while minimising plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance.
  • Provide quick and efficient response to breakdowns across multiple areas, identifying root causes and implementing improvements.
  • Ensure all engineering maintenance aligns with scheduled plans, taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Uphold the highest standards of engineering, hygiene, health, and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with the Engineering Section Manager and operations department to minimise plant disruption.
  • Raise Stock and Non-Stock request forms, contributing to the smooth operation of the manufacturing process.

What You Will Bring:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering and Level 3 NVQ in electrical engineering (military equivalents considered).
  • At least 4 years of engineering experience, with a preference for electrical and an understanding of mechanical engineering. 
  • Ability to fault find on process machinery or equivalent equipment.

We're looking for a highly organised and analytical Production Planner to join the Supply Chain team. This is a fully on-site role, working 5 days a week (40 hours), with a 5am start time.

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing complex planning procedures across 150+ SKUs - and growing, ensuring smooth and efficient production schedules that meet customer demand and support the business's strategic goals.

What You'll Be Doing:

Building and managing daily and long-term production schedules in line with machinery availability and agreed run rates.

Working with heavily Excel-based planning systems, utilising functions such as VLOOKUP, IF statements, and range formulas.

Continuously reviewing forward forecasts to ensure all products are delivered on time and in full (OTIF).

Liaising with the Commercial team to plan for volume peaks, promotions, and product launches.

Working closely with Maintenance and Prep teams to ensure materials and machinery are ready when needed.

Troubleshooting issues during the planning process and finding solutions quickly.

Communicating effectively with the Production team to ensure the correct labour is in place for the following day's plan.

Ensuring strict compliance with food safety standards, brand integrity, and Health & Safety regulations.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in a Production Planning role within the food manufacturing industry - this is essential and non-negotiable.

Experience in a High Risk environment is highly desirable.

Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, IF statements, and range formulas).

A strong analytical mindset and a proactive problem solver.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.

Site Facilities Lead

Job Purpose

The Technical Facilities Lead is responsible for overseeing the service, maintenance, repair, and safe functioning of all hard services . This position ensures that facilities are maintained in compliance with safety regulations and operational standards while coordinating technical staff and supervise external contractors. The role involves both hands-on technical work, leadership responsibilities and championing business critical systems.

Key duties & responsibilities

1. Facilities Maintenance and Operations

  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of building systems, including HVACr, electrical, safety systems, etc.
  • Ensure planned preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are completed in conjunction with schedules - via CMMS to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Ensure all systems comply with H&S, mandatory legislation, food safe, PFM permit consents, and site regulations as requested.
  • Coordinate the use of CMMS for FM related activity and oversee the BMS for refrigeration monitoring and controlling critical production systems.

2. Leadership

  • Lead a team of facilities technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, and monitoring performance.
  • Coordinate and oversee external contractors for specialised maintenance tasks, repairs or minor projects as required.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for record-keeping and audit purposes.
  • Develop and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and efficiency.

3. Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure that the facility complies with health, safety environmental regulations, fire safety standards, and customer site environmental policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections and safety audits of the facility, addressing any issues identified.

4. Budgeting and Vendor Management

  • Assist in controlling the facilities maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maintenance.
  • Negotiate with external vendors and suppliers for parts, equipment, and services.
  • Coordinate contracts and service agreements for outsourced services where applicable.

5. Project Management Lead or assist in the planning and execution of minor facility improvement projects.

  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope, budget, and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineering discipline qualification or demonstratable experience within a manufacturing facility
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, including a supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with QHSE standards, and other relevant regulations
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is highly desirable
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Experience in leading small projects, supervising budgets, and coordinating with vendors and contractors
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot technical issues quickly
  • Communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with stakeholders
  • Ability to allocate work and coordinate people
  • Ability to combine office and hands-on site work
  • Computer literate with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) is essential
  • Demonstrate good numeracy and analytical skills
  • Good time management discipline
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Willingness to respond to facility emergencies, including after-hours calls.
