What You Will Do:

 

  • Lead full life cycle verification and validation activities, creating and maintaining critical Systems V&V artefacts.
  • Carry out Systems V&V activities in line with artefacts to ensure successful internal, qualification, and acceptance events.
  • Support Environmental Qualification activities, including in-house and external test houses.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of supporting test equipment.
  • Manage all safety aspects related to V&V events and facilities used by the project.
  • Act as a key stakeholder at design reviews and manage the use of external V&V facilities/test houses.

 

What You Will Bring:

 

  • Current SC security clearance, with the willingness and ability to obtain DV security clearance.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or substantial applicable defence industry experience.
  • Proven Systems Engineering/V&V experience with solutions composed of Hardware, Software, and Firmware components.
  • Knowledge of INCOSE/ISO 15288 Systems Engineering and delivery of IVV in accordance with ISO 29119.
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK to support external stakeholders, test houses, and customers.

What You Will Do:

 

- Complete the site Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programme

- Attend and resolve breakdowns on plant and equipment efficiently

- Oversee external contractors on site, ensuring compliance and quality of work

- Maintain building services in alignment with legislation and site expectations

- Ensure the upkeep of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) equipment and systems

- Keep accurate maintenance service records, contributing to the seamless operation of the facility

 

What You Will Bring:

 

- Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with an electrical bias

- A strong electrical background, ideally with knowledge of BS 7671

- Familiarity with waterjet cutting systems, hydraulic systems, and compression moulding presses is advantageous

- Capability to fault find on both electrical and mechanical systems

- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, HNC, or ONC are preferred

- Good IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office packages, and any additional licences such as a forklift truck or MEWP are beneficial

CNC Machinist (Milling) - Industrial Systems and Engineering - West Midlands

Permanent - Attractive - Only British and UK Candidates are Eligible.

A CNC Machinist is required to join an International Industrial Systems and Engineering company that Designs, Manufactures, Assembles, Tests and Commissions Industrial Systems. The successful CNC Machinist will be reporting to the CNC Shift Supervisor.

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for machining of parts on a CNC machinery with Fanuc or Heidenhein controls. The CNC Machinist must be able to programme, set and operate the machine to produce accurate components, working to drawings and specifications with minimum supervision.

This CNC Machinist role comes with a shift premium for working double day shifts and qualifies for Paid O/T as required.

The CNC Machinist (Milling) will be involved with the following:

  • Write basic programmes for your own work, during machining operations wherever practical.
  • Plan the setting up and holding of your own work including making up fixtures as required.
  • Produce a wide range of low volume or one-off machined parts that satisfy the time, cost and quality requirements stated in the work instructions.
  • Collaborate with the Production Engineer to ensure right-first time (RFT) and efficient machining processes.
  • Work to tight tolerances and check own work during production.
  • Maintain accurate records for all work to satisfy company standards and procedures.

The CNC Machinist (Milling) will need the following Qualifications Skills and Experience:

  • Apprentice trained and a good understanding of manufacturing methods.
  • Experience on CNC machinery with Fanuc and Heidenhein controls.
  • Machinist who has worked on low volume medium to large sized fabricated components.
  • Able to take ownership of the tooling, fixtures, programming, setting, and operating.
  • Assure the component quality conformance.
  • Able to demonstrate a passion and pride in their work and working area.
  • A willingness to be flexible for business requirements including overtime and weekend work.
  • Experienced machinist who has produced high tolerance machined parts.
  • Be able to read engineering drawings, understand tolerances and machine finishes.
  • Experience of machining various materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel and alloys.
  • An excellent attention to detail, self-motivated and able to take responsibility for own work.
  • Work in a conscientious manner working to high levels of cleanliness, safety, and quality.
  • Be able to use measuring equipment such as micrometres and verniers.

**Security Clearance (SC) will be required due to the nature of the products involved therefore only British and UK Candidates are Eligible**
