Industrial Participation Manager

In support of a globally recognised International Aerospace and Defence Systems company that specialises in the development and supply of high-performance drive and control technology to the defence, aerospace, power generation and marine sectors, we are seeking an Industrial Participation Manager who will be based from their German manufacturing facility near Stuttgart and will be the contact person for all inquiries relating to compensation transactions/industrial participation and are responsible for processing and determining suitable measures to fulfil their compensation obligations.

This role is directly responsible for offsets or Industrial Participation as procurement policies and agreements between countries, established when procuring defence assets.

and oversees the management of all related business activities conducted in the European region. This role involves Senior leadership of a multi-disciplined, matrixed team supporting our Clients' Defense Control Systems Business Unit and the Defense Sector of the Space and Defense Group.

Responsibilities include:

-    Your main task is the identification, planning, development and implementation of fulfilment concepts for offset obligations of our Clients European locations in the defense sector

-    Reporting to the Business Manager Defence, you will support the innovative and cost-optimized fulfilment of compensation obligations. Essential pillars for obtaining offset credits are generating offset credits from purchases by the entire Group at locations in Europe and the USA,

-    You will be targeted on generating offset credits by relocating work packages to partners and suppliers in relevant countries.

-    You will be targeted on generating offset credits by controlling purchasing in Germany and Ireland for B and C parts.

-    This role will have close collaboration with the regional sales and programme managers.

-    You will be involved in the development and maintenance of networks in the offset and defense sectors as well as the analysis of foreign procurement markets in collaboration with strategic purchasing.

-    You will be responsible for the timely processing and commercial controlling of the offset projects.

 

To support this role, you will have:

-    Studies in the field of economics or engineering or completed vocational training with additional subject-specific qualifications and relevant professional experience.

-    Several years of experience in international sales, purchasing, project or contract management.

-    Experience in offset management and industry knowledge in defense technology are also welcomed.

-    You are characterized by your willingness to travel, flexibility, ability to work in a team and good communication skills.

-    You should have very good SAP and Microsoft Office knowledge.

-    You should have very good written and spoken German and English skills complete your profile.

A Senior ILS Engineer is required to join an International Defence Systems company that designs, manufactures, and supports world leading military Systems. The successful Senior ILS Engineer will need to ensure the day-to-day management and performance/delivery for assigned projects, subcontracts, vendors and/or accounts, whilst applying a depth and breadth of experience relating to complex engineering problems, challenges and issues associated with related work packages.

The Senior ILS Engineer role requires close liaison between Engineering teams, customers, and suppliers. Significant drive and energy, strong systems engineering skills, and the ability to deliver a diverse programme to demanding time, target cost and quality requirements are essential attributes to succeed. The Senior ILS Engineer must be a team player who is prepared to work with a multi-site engineering team within the customer community. The individual will be required to work across geographical and cultural divides to draw together a comprehensive engineering capability that will derive balanced system solutions.

Senior ILS Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Overall responsibility for the conduct of the ILS work package.
  • Coordination and supervision of a team of ILS engineers.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for the supply chain with regard to ILS deliverables.
  • Practical and theoretical supportability assessments on existing and new systems.
  • Sub-Assemblies and Components Supportability & Repair Analysis, Spares & Cost Analysis.
  • Provide supportability advice to other engineering and other functional departments.
  • Working with other engineering departments to influence designs.
  • Leading and managing support specialists to produce support engineering deliverables.
  • Undertake the relevant people processes (such as performance reviews) for direct reports.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) data validation and Tech Pubs verification.
  • Define support engineering requirements for supplied items/services.
  • The evaluation of design and supplier data.
  • Production of support related data and reports
  • Working with Training capability, Support Engineers and Safety Engineers
  • Ensure that support products are ALARP.

The Senior ILS Engineer should have the following Qualifications Skills or Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Post-graduate engineering experience in a suitable engineering role.
  • Must have a good understanding of the support engineering / ILS discipline (Essential)
  • Must have experience of Def-Stans and Defence Logistic Framework
  • Experience of ASD S3000L and its application to supportability analysis programmes
  • Must have a working understanding of SHE and product safety (Essential)
  • Previous experience of leading a team would be advantageous (Highly Desireable)
  • Recent British Army Armoured Fighting Vehicle management experience (Highly Desirable)
  • Good listener and communicator who effectively conveys information.
  • Computer-literate especially the Microsoft Office suite
  • Be open to new ways of resolving issues and the possibility
  • Able to incorporate new technology through research and Innovative problem-solver 
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision

  • Working knowledge of ISO 3834

  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Software (PM), DIN 2303 and IWT/EWT qualified or being CSWIP 3.1 qualified is desirable but not essential
