What you'll be doing
You'll start strong with an immersive technical training programme, where you'll learn everything there is to know about the electrical and mechanical engineering that powers their products. You'll be coached by experts in a friendly, classroom-based environment to get you up to speed quickly and confidently.
Then, you'll hit the ground running by:
- Delivering expert-level telephone support to field engineers needing fast, reliable help during installations, repairs, or troubleshooting
- Building rapport under pressure - keeping calm, empathetic, and focused when customers need you most
- Advising on replacement parts and quotations during support calls to streamline issue resolution
- Assisting colleagues across the business with your technical knowledge and engineering insights
- Getting involved in technical projects and contributing to internal training initiatives

Who we're looking for
You don't need years of experience - just the right mindset and technical foundations:
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
- Engineering qualifications to at least Level 3 (A-Level, BTEC, etc.) or higher in a technical discipline
- A natural problem solver with an analytical mindset
- Calm and confident communicator who thrives under pressure
- Team player with a passion for helping others
- Previous exposure to electrical or mechanical engineering is a bonus

What You Will Do:
- Design and program PLCs, touchscreens, SCADA systems, and industrial networks (Allen Bradley and Siemens experience essential).

JOB SPECIFICATION TECHNICAL SERVICE ENGINEER Date : January 2025 The Engineering Technology Group based on the prestigious Wellesbourne Distribution Park is actively seeking an experienced and professional Technical Support Engineer to join the team. The successful applicant will be required to carry out installations, service and breakdown requests, deliver first class customer care and positively represent the ETG brand at all times. Development and training opportunities will be available. Responsibilities: - To communicate positively and efficiently with the Service Desk. - To visit customer sites to install, service and repair machines. - Leave jobs in full working order and liaise with customers. - At customer sites, familiarise yourself with customer rules and working practices, including their health and safety policies. - To feedback to the Service Desk problems/issues on site. - When the job/customer dictates, there could be a requirement to lodge away from home. Requirements: - Ability to install, service and repair CNC machines and equipment. - Ability to fault find, diagnose and correct errors as identified on CNC machine tools. - Ability to assemble, set up and dismantle hydraulic, pneumatic and large associated mechanical assemblies. - A team player with the ability to work on own initiative and problem solve. - Knowledge of part identification and understanding of engineering drawings. - Mechanical and electrical qualifications/experience. - PLC knowledge. - Excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills. - PC literate. - Previous experience of a service team environment.
