Electronic and Electrical Engineer (Space and Defence) - British Nationals Only

An Electronic and Electrical Engineer is required within an Advanced Space and Defence Services Organisation. The Electronic and Electrical Engineer will be an experienced Engineer working on technical Space and Defence projects while shaping the future of Space and Defence Engineering.
The Electronic and Electrical Engineer will facilitate Space and Defence Engineering activity, and the Electronic and Electrical Engineer will need experience with Systems Assembly, Systems Integration & System Test. The Electronic and Electrical Engineer will be working alongside subject matter experts in a dynamic and growth focused Space and Defence business.
Due to the Space & Defence Products/Platforms involved this is a Fully On-site Role with no Hybrid.
The Electronic and Electrical Engineer you will be required to:
- Design / Specification to support Systems (e.g. Electronic Propulsion, Radio Frequency and Central Systems)
- Alignment of design with requirement engineering processes (Traceability/Compliance matrix etc.) considering customer level requirements.
- Review of supplier documentation / RID generation (e.g. during Tender phase or during formal reviews with the customer)
- Support of major customer review processes
- Production of relevant technical documentation (e.g. Design reports, User Manuals, Test Procedures)
- Oversight of manufacturing processes for platform systems, this may include Procurement,
- Managing and prioritizing the manufacturing processes
- Validation and certification for use in the Systems facility
- First level support for the Systems facility, which may include Commissioning of hardware, Composition of procedures and training.
The Electronic and Electrical Engineer Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Degree in engineering with ideally an electrical or electronics systems background.
- Where applicable suitable experience in addition to a lower qualification may be acceptable.
- Strong industrial background in areas related to Space and Defence Ideally.
- Solid understanding of the technical challenges in this field.
- A passion for hands-on engineering able to solve complex problems.
- Some knowledge of Space and Defence Systems Engineering and Complex Platforms.
- Experience in customer facing roles and business development is also advantageous.

An opportunity has arisen for Aerodynamics Test Engineer to join an Aerospace and Defence Organisation within the Milton Keynes area. The successful Aerodynamics Test Engineer will join the Engineering Team and will support a wide variety of commercial and research projects. The Aerodynamics Test Engineer will conduct testing, aerodynamics analysis and technical reporting.
The Aerodynamics Test Engineer position involves working and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to provide customers with high quality aerodynamic data from a variety of equipment and techniques used across the Company's facilities.
The Aerodynamics Test Engineer will report to the Team Leader .
Responsibilities of the Aerodynamics Test Engineer
- Provide technical support to the Project Team.
- Assist in project delivery to the satisfaction of the customer standards within time and cost.
- Deal with client requests as appropriate and participate in the preparation of technical bids.
- Oversee aerodynamic, mechanical, computing and programme requirements for tests.
- Maintain workloads with application to various test facilities and project programmes.
- Production of written technical reports to accompany analysis and development activities.
- Support analysis and interpretation of aerodynamic datasets.
- Take responsibility for data quality and timely provision of results and/or reports.
- Support to other experimental and numerical tasks relevant to the business.
- Be pro-active in the on-going development of innovative processes and capability.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required for the Aerodynamics Test Engineer
- Have a passion for aircraft and aerospace and complex engineering and analysis.
- Will ideally hold a masters (MEng/MSc) or equivalent level degree in related discipline.
- Experience of aerodynamics testing and used to working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Aerodynamics from a relevant field.
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Willingness to engage with both internal and external parties
- Exhibit confidence to question the status quo and to strive for improvement
- Ability to see projects through to completion

To support this continued specialist focus within the test environment, they are seeking a Business Development Manager - particularly with EMC exposure.
Working from a hybrid position in England, the Business Development Manager will 'go to market' and continue the target of EMC and testing applications on a consultative, solution sales basis. Supported by your existing knowledge of automotive, defence, aerospace and EMC test solution sectors in particular, you will represent our clients' range of test and measurement solutions to generate new opportunities by penetrating deeper into the customer base with existing and new clients along with responsibility for maintaining existing business.
The role requires identification and conversion of new sales leads, the professional presentation of test and measurement solutions to new and existing clients, developing and maintaining solid relationships with prospective new contacts and existing clients. An opportunity has arisen for Instrumentation Engineer to join an Aerospace and Defence Organisation within the Milton Keynes area. The successful Instrumentation Engineer will join the Engineering Team and will support a wide variety of commercial and research projects.
The Instrumentation Engineer role will be to manufacture and install instrumentation associated with testing facilities. This will include but is not limited to; equipment calibration, the set-up of specialised measurement/monitoring equipment, assembly, and integration for test, troubleshooting and assisting in the operation of facilities.
The successful Instrumentation Engineer will be able to demonstrate the drive and commitment necessary for ensuring that work is completed in line with challenging schedule requirements whilst maintaining a clean, safe working environment. To succeed in this Instrumentation Engineer position, you must be flexible in your approach to working hours, which will require shift working, and able to respond quickly to a changing workload.
Working hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, shift work (typical hours are 07.00 - 15:00 and 14.00 - 22:00 on a rotating weekly basis) and salary dependent on experience.
Responsibilities, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required of the Instrumentation Engineer
- Manufacture of wiring looms and assemblies with reference to circuit drawings/wiring lists.
- Hand soldering of fine components at the workbench and strain-gauge installation/wiring.
- Calibration, maintenance, testing, fault-finding of sensors and systems to component level.
- Support the design and integration of instrumentation into customer tests and rigs.
- Work as part of a team and conduct testing to defined quality standards.
- Provide instrumentation support for projects in all test facilities.
- Maintenance of the instrumentation hardware and records.
- Preparation and installation of specialist optical measurement systems in test facilities.

- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Responsibilities of the CNC Setter/Operator
- Perform on-line programming and setting tasks on CNC machines using Heidenhein controls.

- Accurately interpret technical drawings and specification with an understanding of GD&T.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.

- Knowledge in the set-up and operation of CNC Milling Machines.
- Experience in manual milling and turning.
- Experience using cylindrical grinders and flat bed grinders
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring tight tolerances on bespoke one-off components.
- Effective communication skills with team members, technical leads, and management.
- Possession of an HNC, HND, City & Guilds qualification in a related field, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience in CNC machining and programming.
- Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to Health and Safety standards.
