About Clamason
Clamason, headquartered in the UK is a private equity backed global precision pressing and stamping manufacturer and distributor.
The Group currently generates circa £35m in revenue and employs around 200 people. The business has expanded quickly following the acquisition by Connection Capital in December 2016, and has a strong plan for future growth, through organic channels but also through planned strategic diversification in eMobility alongside their existing Medical, Automotive Control Systems and Industrial market sectors. They expect turnover to exceed £45m in 2025.
The group has two key manufacturing sites with bases in Kingswinford in the West Midlands, UK and in Nitra, Slovakia.
Key customers include Bespak, Novartis, Sanofi, Bosch, BorgWarner, ZF Group, Schneider Group and more recently Honeywell.
The Challenge
Clamason's ongoing growth and diversification into new manufacturing sectors, as well as the strategic realignment of their existing manufacturing capabilities to support customer demands, highlighted the need for key strategic hires to support these plans.
The first of these was to appoint a UK General Manager who would take ownership of the ongoing development of the manufacturing capability, new product introduction as well as the ongoing strategic growth of the Medical portfolio in the UK, working closely with both the CEO and the senior management team in Slovakia.
Clamason has worked with us for many years and the strong relationships established coupled with our deep understanding of the Clamason business and culture, meant that Jonathan Lee Recruitment was ideally placed to partner exclusively with them for the search and selection for this key retained assignment.
The Solution
Working very closely with CEO and HR Manager, Jonathan Lee Recruitment sought to fully qualify the requirements of the role, to identify key aspects of culture and personality fit and to ensure that Clamason's employer value proposition and brand were communicated accurately, proactively and positively throughout the search activity.
The tailored search and selection solution included:
- Developing a detailed and comprehensive brief for the role, including discussion of the job specification, key skills and characteristics for success.
- Comprehensive search activity of both active and passive candidate pools to identify potential candidates for the role.
- In person screening interviews to develop a shortlist of candidates to be presented to the client.
- Detailed candidate report for each candidate identifying suitability against the core responsibilities, culture and personality fit
- Management of all interview arrangements and logistics
- Offer management and negotiation
- Successful placement within the agreed timeframe
The Results
Based on the success of this project and the relationship with Clamason, Jonathan Lee continues to support the recruitment needs for both of Clamason's sites. The newly placed General Manager has successfully integrated into their UK facility and as planned, continues to add strategic value.
