Project Contracts Manager - Offshore Wind Construction Project

A Project Contracts Manager is urgently required for a major Offshore Wind Project Team based in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland. Working with the Package Managers and reporting directly into the Head of Commercial you will be managing the Turbine Supply, Offshore Substation and Onshore Work Contracts. As the Project Contracts Manager you’ll support all members of the Project Management team with the negotiation of Contractor’s Claim, Variation under the contract agreements and the on-going contracts advice on a broad range of subject matters for the main EPCI execution Contracts as well as all other supporting contracts with 3rd parties. You will align with all project personnel including the Project Director, Package Managers, Legal & Project Finance functions on the contracting basis, deliverables and cost associated with all 3rd party contractors and suppliers. There are a number of key duties and responsibilities required for this role, they include: Establish knowledge of technical and procedural requirements of the project and each Contract. Be the daily contract management focal point for specified contracts. Take an active role with the project planner in reviewing contractor programmes and assist with the verification of contract progress against contract requirements. Assess and discuss the consequences of (technical) decisions against the contract terms. Participate in monthly progress meetings with Contractors as required. To provide contract input and to assist the contract owner in administration, action tracking, minutes of meeting etc. Review contractor progress reports and provide comment and input to the contract owner for discussion with the contractor as necessary. Proactively assist with management of potential claims scenarios including taking part in the resolution of commercial and/or contract issues/disputes for a given Contract. We are seeking an individual with either onshore or offshore works contracting/administration experience in electrical substations or cabling works. You will have a proven background in contract management processes from commencement to close out, ideally on wind construction projects. You will hold a degree qualification, be aligned to a relevant professional institution and proficient in MS-Office IT Systems. It has been suggested by our client that someone from a QS or engineering background with an electrical bias would be very well received. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved with one of the UK’s largest offshore wind developments. I must clarify that this is an employed position with a salary up to £75,000pa dependent on experience but will be on an initial 2-year fixed term contract. This role also comes with an annual discretionary bonus up to 20%, pension contributions up to 13%, medical & dental insurance, business related travel expenses and the opportunity to work within one of the world’s leading corporations.
