2D CAD Engineer / Estimator

What You Will Do:

- Work as a 2D CAD Engineer / Estimator, reading engineering drawings and turning requirements into precise profile drawings using AutoCAD 2D-type software.

- Produce detailed, instruction-driven deliverables in a fast-moving production and estimating workflow.

- Support day-to-day estimating tasks by recognising and matching material types such as S275, S355, CR4, 304, and 316 where required.

- Collaborate across the engineering process to ensure outputs align with project needs and documentation standards.

- Keep quality high by checking drawings for accuracy and completeness before progression.

- Maintain flexibility in a varied role, stepping between CAD engineering and estimation activities as priorities shift.

What You Will Bring:

- A strong ability to read engineering drawings and translate them into workable 2D CAD output as a 2D CAD Engineer / Estimator.

- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD 2D-type software to create profile drawings.

- An engineering background or proven experience working in an engineering environment, with confidence to learn quickly on the job.

- Familiarity with Lantek software would be advantageous, though it is not essential for success.

- A practical, organised approach and the willingness to work to instructions while staying flexible.

Location:

The 2D CAD Engineer / Estimator role is based in the company's busy office environment in Dudley in the West Midlands, (with Monday to Thursday hours from 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am-4:30pm).

You must live locally to Dudley, West Midlands, as this is an on-site role, and you must have full RTW in the UK, as we cannot sponsor.
