The role also contributes to business growth by identifying new sales opportunities, managing service schedules, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

This position requires a hands-on engineer with strong technical skills, excellent customer communication, and the ability to work independently across a diverse range of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Customer Service and After-Sales Support:

  • Provide service, maintenance, and calibration of test and measurement equipment at customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas.
  • Offer technical support to customers via telephone and email.
  • Develop the after-sales service business by preparing quotations, managing schedules, and supporting budgeting and visit planning through a service database.
  • Train partner and distributor service engineers, as well as customers.
  • Install equipment at customer sites.
  • Manage all site-specific Health & Safety and risk documentation.
  • Identify sales opportunities for consumables and new equipment while liaising with customers.
  • Provide production or workshop support when workload permits.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Time-served maintenance technician/engineer with experience working directly with customers both remotely and on-site.
  • Solid experience with electrical and pneumatic systems; knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with equipment comprising electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and composite components.
  • Full, clean driving licence essential.
  • Willingness to undergo product training and gain exposure to manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and expectations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate quality control and service documentation.
