Fitter Fabricator

As a Fitter Fabricator you will work in a state-of-the-art facility, working on cutting-edge projects within the defence industry. This Fitter Fabricator role is an exciting opportunity to join an international Defence organisation, offering stability and career growth. Working hours are 07:00 - 15:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00 - 12:00 Friday pay £19.22 per hour plus overtime. 

What You Will Do:

- Tack weld using MIG/MAG welding processes on armour plates, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and work instructions.

- Use jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and measuring instruments to fabricate components to the highest standards.

- Conduct visual and non-destructive inspections to verify that components meet strict quality requirements.

- Complete European welder approval tests regularly to maintain industry qualifications.

- Report equipment faults or unusual occurrences using approved maintenance reporting procedures.

- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to 5S principles and safety regulations.

What You Will Bring:

- Recognised Time Served Apprenticeship in welding, fabrication or a relevant discipline.

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related field.

- Practical welding and fitting experience in a heavy manufacturing or fabrication environment.

- Knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and safety regulations.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
