Pay Rate: £13.58 - £13.95 (PAYE) + 12.5% shift allowance + OT

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Welder to join a busy manufacturing team. This role involves performing welding operations to a high standard, following technical specifications and safety procedures, while contributing to overall production efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for welding by reviewing Weld Procedures, SOPs, Work Orders, technical drawings, and parts lists
  • Collect and inspect all necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials prior to welding
  • Carry out welding on components such as rods and cylinders, using appropriate welding methods
  • Inspect components for damage or defects before use
  • Ensure non-welded parts are protected from weld spatter and potential damage
  • Perform visual checks and dimensional measurements to verify quality and accuracy of welds
  • Notify supervision of any defects or quality concerns
  • Conduct basic preventative maintenance on welding equipment and report any repair needs
  • Complete production documentation, including batch cards, inspection records, and maintenance logs
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area in compliance with all company procedures and health & safety regulations
  • Work independently, demonstrating an understanding of SOPs, quality standards, risk assessments, and COSHH documentation
  • Participate in relevant training to support performance and personal development
  • Take responsibility for identifying and managing any health, safety, or environmental risks related to the role

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience welding TIG and MIG or MIG only
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Capable of working independently and taking initiative
  • Flexible, reliable, and safety-focused
  • Willingness to undertake further training as needed
