Mechanical Fitter- Gloucester
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering organisation delivering high-quality mechanical solutions across industrial projects.
This days-based role offers a competitive salary, working 37 hours per week, along with a comprehensive benefits package. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter looking for a stable, long-term role with opportunities for skill development and career progression within a supportive and professional working environment.
Hours: 37 hours per week Monday-Friday, worked over 9 days in a 10-day fortnight (one day off every two weeks).
Responsibilities:
- Fit and assemble machine parts accurately to engineering drawings and specifications
- Accurately fit sub-assembly parts using engineering drawings
- Utilise hand tools and power tools to fit and assemble components
- Use engineering measuring equipment to ensure components meet specifications
- Drill and tap components as needed
- Fit and pipe pneumatic and water circuits using copper or plastic pipework
- Strip and prepare machines and tooling for painting and dispatch
- Install machines at customer sites as necessary, including overseas travel
- Adhere to safe systems of work and report any issues immediately
- Maintain and store all tools and equipment safely
- Report any non-conforming parts or design issues using the appropriate forms
- Identify opportunities for process, productivity, and quality improvements
Requirements:
- Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent technical training
- Proven ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with pneumatic drawings is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic computer literacy
- Flexibility to travel abroad to customer sites if required

Seeking a CNC Turning Program/ Setter/ Operator within the Machining Department.
Job Description
- Programming, setting & operating Mazak Integrex & QT machines.
- Producing a wide & varied range of highly toleranced parts which are used in the manufacture of Mazak CNC machines.
- Understand Mazatrol CNC controls & be able to program/edit/improve existing & new parts.
- Work within a team of fellow engineers to strict health & safety guidelines & rules.
- Play your part in promoting positive culture amongst staff by engaging in H&S improvements & kaizen initiatives.
Essential Criteria
- Have a solid understanding of setting & operating CNC controlled lathes.
- Can demonstrate & have experience of safely using CNC controls.
- Have a can-do attitude.
- Prior experience working within a team in a busy manufacturing environment.
Desirable Criteria
- Program from drawing Mazatrol CNC controls.
- Would have served a mechanical engineering apprenticeship/HNC etc.
The role will be on nightshift starting 10pm Sunday to Thursday 10:00pm - 6:00am
Salary - £37500-£40600 depending on experience.

As a Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact projects that make a real difference. What You Will Do:
- Lead detailed 3D CAD design work using Creo 9.0 or higher, producing top-quality models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Manage Bills of Materials (BoMs) and CAD data in PLM systems, ensuring accuracy and full traceability.
- Collaborate closely with Lead Engineers and project teams to support integration projects from concept to manufacture.
- Balance weight, cost, strength, and assembly feasibility to deliver optimised design solutions.
- Contribute to the successful build and delivery of vehicles for global defence customers by meeting precision and quality standards.

We are seeking an experienced TIG Welder Fabricator to join our clients engineering and fabrication team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in stainless steel fabrication, pipework, and sheet metal work, with proven experience manufacturing and assembling pressure vessels, process vessels, and associated components to high-quality standards. Competitive hourly rate available and excellent working hours.
Hours
37 hours/ week - Days Mon – Thursday (3 Day weekend every week or option to work overtime on Friday at time and half)
TIG welder Fabricator Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and weld stainless steel components, vessels, and structures from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Carry out TIG welding to a high standard, particularly on stainless steel and carbon steel materials.
- Manufacture and fit pipework systems, including orbital and manual welding of various diameters and thicknesses.
- Interpret and work from detailed fabrication drawings, isometric sketches, and technical documentation.
- Operate standard fabrication equipment, including guillotines, rollers, press brakes, and cutting machinery.
- Perform quality inspections on completed work, ensuring dimensional accuracy and weld integrity.
Skills & Experience Required
- Fabrication and welding within an industrial or engineering environment.
- Proven experience working with stainless steel, sheet metal, and pipework.
- Proficiency in TIG welding techniques
- Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and tolerances.
- Experience in using fabrication tools and workshop machinery safely and effectively.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our clients team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality products to the required standards, as defined by drawings, written instructions, and guidance from your supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete engineering duties for sub-assembly production, fitting, and final assembly
- Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components and sub-assemblies as required
- Assist with the production and build of fabricated assemblies of varying size and complexity, using general skills such as marking out, cutting, folding, pipe bending, weld joint preparation, hydraulic runs, and pneumatic runs
- Comply with the company's health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring your own safety and that of others
- Perform any other duties as reasonably expected by the company
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Solid engineering background with experience working from manufacturing drawings, general arrangement drawings, and sub-assembly drawings
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools to assemble a wide range of large and small fabricated components
- Ability to check the complete assembly for alignment, dimensions, and quality
- Experience in vehicle fabricating/fitting is an advantage
- Strong problem-solving skills and a logical mindset
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical circuitry
- Background in aviation, military, marine, or a similar industry is desirable
- Basic electrical assembly skills and the ability to read electrical circuit drawings are preferred but not essential
This role is working Days, Monday-Friday and offers a competitive salary with bonus incentives.
