PRODUCTION ENGINEER NEEDED IN WOLVERHAMPTON (WEST MIDLANDS)
Are you a Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer who holds either an HNC or HND, and do you live within a 25 mile radius of Wolverhampton?!
We are proud to be working with a well-established manufacturer in Wolverhampton who are looking for a Production Engineer to join their team, the working hours for this role is 8.00am - 16.45pm Mon-Thurs, with a 12.30pm finish on a Friday (37.5 hours per week), and the job comes with an annual salary of up to £40,000 per annum (DOE).
The hiring manager is looking for someone who holds a HNC or HND (or equivalent) in either Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, and they would like someone who has a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer role.
We are looking for someone who has a good amount of experience working with fixtures and tooling, as well as previous experience using CAD (Solidworks would be preferred but is not essential), previous experience with an ERP System would also be preferred - Microsoft AX experience would be highly advantageous but again, is not essential.
Anyone who has worked as a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Manufacturing Process Engineer would be well received.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and implement alternative production methods using Lean tools and techniques.
- Drive automation and robotics implementation to optimise processes.
- Design factory layouts, fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing processes for new products.
- Create concepts and drawings using software such as CAD SolidWorks and ME10.
- Collaborate with the shop floor and cross-functional teams to solve issues and improve work flows.
- Lead productivity improvements and quality enhancements using Lean techniques like SMED, TPM, and Standard Operations.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role - ESSENTIAL
- A HNC or HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering - ESSENTIAL
- A strong understanding of production drawings and the ability to interpret them effectively.
- Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and improving productivity.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to place Purchase Orders.
- Must be PC literate and have experience with CAD Software

- Hands-on experience with work permit systems, risk assessments, and international workforce deployment
- Strong leadership presence and experience delivering technical training
