Job Description

  • Setting and operating large Versatech 5 Axis machining centres.
  • Producing a wide and varied range of highly toleranced parts used in the manufacture of Mazak CNC machines.
  • Understanding CNC controls and being able to program, edit and improve existing and new parts.
  • Working as part of a team of fellow engineers while adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Contributing to a positive workplace culture by engaging in H&S improvements and Kaizen initiatives.

Essential Criteria

  • Solid understanding and experience of operating CNC-controlled machining centres.
  • Demonstrable experience of safely using CNC controls.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Previous experience working as part of a team within a busy manufacturing environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience programming from engineering drawings using Mazatrol CNC controls.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Fitter, Assembly Technician, Hydraulic Fitter or Industrial Mechanic seeking a new job, and are you able to get to Telford (Shropshire)?

We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join an Engineering business based in Telford, the working hours are 7.45am - 16.30pm Monday to Thursday with a lunchtime finish Friday (37.5 hours per week), and the role comes with an annual salary just over £32,000 per annum (hourly rate of £16.50 per hour) DOE.

As a Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for carrying out fitting and fabrication work on various heavy machinery encompassing Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems.

Whilst the role is predominantly on the tools working as a Mechanical Fitter, you MUST be able to fabricate, and occasional MIG welding work will also be required.

What You Will Do:

  • Carry out fitting and fabrication duties using engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM) and clear instructions.
  • Maintain, fault-diagnose, dismantle, repair, assemble and test machinery to a high degree of accuracy and quality.
  • Complete fabrication and welding operations, including pipe bending where required.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, slings and other lifting equipment, alongside all relevant tools and test/measuring devices.
  • Keep work areas clean, tidy and compliant with Health and Safety regulations at all times.
  • Support the wider Manufacturing team when workload demands, and complete job sheets and time sheets.

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong mechanical fitting and fabrication experience, with confidence working to engineering drawings and BOMs.
  • Practical experience with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including fault diagnosis and repair work.
  • Competence with fabrication and welding processes, plus a careful, detail-focused approach to quality.
  • A safety-first mindset and willingness to follow procedures for safe lifting and working practices.
  • The ability to work accurately, keep documentation up to date and inspect work to required standards.

The Opportunity

  • We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering team supporting customers across the UK heavy industrial sector.

We are looking for experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join a long-standing and well established manufacturing business in Woking (Surrey), the working hours are 8.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday (paid 40 hour week), and the roles come with an annual salary ranging between £40,000 - £52,000 per annum (DOE).

The hiring manager is looking for proven Engineers from within the Automotive sector, and there are currently vacancies within the following areas:

  • Paint Shop / Paint Plant
  • Body Assembly
  • New Model
  • New Model Series

The company can offer a relocation package between £3,000 - £5,000 should you be prepared to relocate to Surrey, however please be advised that sponsorship can not be offered at this stage.

This will be a 2 stage interview process, the first stage being a teams call, before inviting you in on site for a formal 2nd interview and factory tour.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and refine assembly concepts, starting in virtual environments and moving into physical validation and delivery
  • Create process sequencing, documentation, and product traceability methodologies for new model introductions
  • Lead analysis and improvement activities such as PFMEA and support DFMEA to help strengthen right-first-time delivery
  • Own and maintain (HPC) reporting for new model introductions, supporting plant efficiency and output targets
  • Run line balancing work, including time and motion studies, to identify production opportunities and improve flow
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to support facility layout and utilisation decisions, including material flow improvements

What You Will Bring:

  • Previous experiencer within a similar role within the Automotive, Automotive OEM, Tier 1 Automotive sector
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices and the ability to apply them consistently
  • Experience working across engineering and operational teams, with confident stakeholder management
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong data analysis skills, and advanced Excel capability
  • A proactive, calm approach under pressure, with flexibility to adapt as plans and procedures evolve

Desirable:

  • A degree in mechanical or automotive engineering

This CNC Trainer role is critical in delivering high-quality technical training, as part of the European Training Academy to service engineers, distributors, and end-users, ensuring optimal machine performance and customer satisfaction.

The Role

  • Develop and deliver technical training programs on CNC machine tools installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Conduct classroom, hands-on, and on-site training sessions for colleagues and external customers.
  • Create and update training materials, manuals, and documentation in line with product updates and service bulletins and service guides.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide feedback to improve technical competencies.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Service, Product teams and our partners to stay current on machine developments and service best practices.
  • Support the development of videos, e-learning modules and remote training solutions.
  • Maintain training equipment, simulators, and demo machines in optimal condition.

The Person

Essential Requirements

  • Experience servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting CNC machine tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Mazatrol; FANUC, Siemens and Heidenhain experience advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver technical training and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, organised and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Desirable Requirements

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering background.
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines, automation or robotics.
  • Previous training or coaching experience and/or a teaching qualification.
