Based at Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire, you will play a key part in preparing prototype requirements and supporting the Prototype team with reliable, high-quality machining.
What You Will Do:
• Operate and complete all general machining tasks for prototype requirements, including lathes, milling machines, drilling machines and parting machines as required.
• Read and follow engineering drawings accurately to machine parts to specification, ensuring quality throughout each stage.
• Use standard measuring equipment such as vernier callipers, micrometers, height gauges and bore gauges to confirm dimensions and tolerances.
• Apply knowledge of cutting tools, drills, reamers and standard gauges to deliver repeatable, accurate machining outcomes.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and design teams to clarify drawings and models, keeping prototype delivery moving smoothly.
• Contribute to additional inspection and fabrication activities where needed, supporting the wider Prototype function.
What You Will Bring:
• 2 to 3 years’ hands-on experience in conventional general machining, with confidence operating key machine tools.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and turn them into accurate machined components.
• Proficiency with basic measuring instruments and a commitment to quality checks.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, drills, reamers and standard gauges used in conventional machining.
• Clear communication skills in English, with the organisation and documentation habits needed for a busy prototype environment.

Location & Contract Length
The Prototype Machinist role is based at Bruntingthorpe, you will need transport as it is a rural location to get there. You will need RTW for UK as although this is a 12 month contract is could be extended and go permanent.
This role is Inside IR35 and £25 per hour, umbrella rate.
