NEW JOB VACANCY – ASSEMBLY FITTER (MARKET DRAYTON)
Do you have a background within Engineering and a mechanical aptitude, and do you have a Full UK Driving?! If so then this could be the job for you!!!
We are looking for an Assembly Fitter to join an Engineering business based in Market Drayton, the working hours are 8am-5pm Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week), and the role comes with a pay rate ranging between £14.00 – £16.00 per hour (DOE).
Overtime rates are also available and are paid at T1/2 if or when overtime is worked after you’ve completed your basic hours within the week.
The hiring manager would like someone who has got some experience using hand tools daily (spanners, ratchets, saws etc) and someone who can read measurements and specification drawings.
Someone who has previously worked with vehicles, HGVs, LGVs or commercial vehicles would be well received, alternatively, someone who has previously worked as a Mechanical Assembler, Assembly Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Vehicle Fitter, Vehicle Technician, Coach Builder, HGV Fitter, HGV Technician, Workshop Fitter, Body Builder, HGV Body Builder or Workshop Technician would be a good fit.
You MUST hold a Full UK Driving License.
What You Will Do:
- Assemble and fit components accurately during strip trailer and rebuild tasks, working to the same measurements every time.
- Use workshop tools including a chop saw, drilling equipment, and angle grinding to complete required work safely and efficiently.
- Rebuild to standard using basic engineering judgement, following clear instructions and working to quality expectations.
- Collaborate with others in a team environment, sharing progress and supporting a smooth work flow.
- Maintain a tidy, organised workspace and follow safe working practices throughout each shift.
- Support periodic overtime when required, helping the operation stay on track.
What You Will Bring:
- Basic engineering background or mechanical knowledge, ideally gained through practical workshop experience.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, tool-led environment, including cutting, drilling, and grinding activities.
- Full driving licence (and the ability to carry out driving-related duties as needed) – ESSENTIAL
- Willingness to work in a team environment and take feedback on board to improve results.
- Availability to work standard hours, with overtime opportunities as scheduled.
