This is an excellent opportunity to join a small team in Telford where no two days are quite the same.
We are looking for an all rounder who is happy to get involved, pick up additional responsibilities and support different areas of the business. You do not need to know everything from day one. What matters is that you are inquisitive, willing to learn and keen to build a long term career.
This role would suit someone who has worked in a small business or manufacturing environment and is used to wearing different hats, helping colleagues and getting involved wherever they are needed.
You will work closely with the Site Manager and support production planning, purchasing, shipping, maintenance, quality, health and safety and general administration.
The role
This is a varied position with responsibility across several areas of the site.
You will be involved in production scheduling, purchasing, administration, quality, health and safety, maintenance and shipping support, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of manufacturing operations.
You will be part of a small team, so being someone who gets involved, asks questions and is happy to take on additional tasks will be important.
The role would particularly suit someone who is looking for a long term career opportunity and wants to develop their skills and responsibilities over time.
What will you be doing?
• Schedule daily production work orders and communicate requirements to the relevant departments
• Purchase raw materials based on production requirements
• Purchase non raw materials and site requirements including PPE and contracts
• Complete job close out activities for production work orders
• Support quality, health, safety and environmental activities and carry out weekly audits
• Manage repair and maintenance requirements and keep records up to date
• Issue monthly maintenance tasks and ensure they are completed and logged
• Provide daily support and cover for the shipping function
• Maintain accurate records and data across different areas of the business
• Work closely with production, warehouse, quality, shipping, administration, QSE, HR and sales
• Liaise with suppliers and customers when required
• Support additional projects and tasks assigned by management
• Get involved across the wider site and learn new responsibilities as your knowledge develops
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is more than just an administrator.
You will be an all rounder who enjoys variety, is comfortable switching between different tasks and is not afraid to get stuck in.
You may currently be working as an Administrator, Manufacturing Administrator, Production Administrator, Purchasing Administrator, Planning Administrator, Operations Administrator, Office Administrator, Sales Administrator or Production Coordinator.
Experience in a manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial, particularly where you have had exposure to several different areas of the business.
You will need:
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or operational environment
• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and change direction when required
• Good computer skills and confidence working with data
• A willingness to learn new systems and processes
• An inquisitive approach and a genuine desire to understand how things work
• The confidence to ask questions and get involved
• A flexible attitude towards picking up additional tasks and responsibilities
Hours and package
Location: Telford
Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Holidays: Annual leave is taken during company shutdown periods
