Project Engineer (Technical Documentation & Project Support)

We are looking for a proactive and technically minded Project Engineer to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of innovative engineering projects within highly regulated industries.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, technical writing and working across multiple disciplines. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Production and Commercial teams, you will be responsible for creating, coordinating and controlling the technical documentation that underpins successful project delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of the project delivery process, ensuring that technical information, compliance documentation and customer deliverables are accurate, professional and submitted on time.
Project Documentation & Technical Authoring
- Producing and maintaining project lifecycle documentation.
- Creating technical reports, plans, schedules and customer deliverables.
- Interpreting customer requirements, specifications and Statements of Work (SoW).
- Researching technical information and compiling supporting evidence packs.
- Tailoring existing documentation to meet specific contract requirements.
Engineering & Compliance Support
- Supporting engineering teams with design documentation and verification records.
- Managing document registers and configuration-controlled information.
- Producing declarations of conformity and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Ensuring projects comply with relevant industry, regulatory and customer standards.
Project & Customer Support
- Supporting Project Managers throughout project execution.
- Managing document submissions through customer portals.
- Preparing milestone documentation to support project reviews and customer acceptance.
- Assisting with change management and impact assessments.
- Supporting bid preparation, proposals and customer presentations when required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
You’ll work closely with:

- Quality Assurance
- Commercial & Business Development

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual with a genuine interest in engineering and project delivery.
Essential
- Degree or HND in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
- Broad engineering knowledge, ideally within electromechanical systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable
- Experience working within defence, marine, aerospace, manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.
- Exposure to project management methodologies.
- Experience producing customer-facing technical documentation.
- Knowledge of configuration management and controlled documentation systems.
